    The elbow instability with varus and valgus forces is very inaccurate in my personal experience because a conscious patient will always flex their pronation teres or branchioradialis giving you a false indication that the joint is stabil. On MRT it is also very hard to see collateral ligament injuries. The main cause of elbow instability is trauma with joint dislocation, reduce all elbow dislocations (even those without fractures) under full anaesthesia and document the varus and valgus stress test in 20 to 30° flexion with X-rays in A.P.

    I suggest having multiple angles next time. This makes it easier for the audience for us to understand what you mean.

    how can we reduce cubitus valgus ANGLE !?? ... plz reply ... and suggest some exercise !! plzzzz

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  Před 7 lety +1

      +prayas kumar the question is why you would want to do that? If u are experiencing problems with a marked cubitus valgus only surgery can alter the angle. It cannot be done with exercises.

    • @chakrhaview
      @chakrhaview Před 7 lety

      i don't know... how much angled my elbows are!! ...BTW...HOW CAN I MEASURE IT??..
      i just know that it has some angle !! .. i compare my elbows with my friends elbows ...i have same angle....NOT LARGE ...BUT ...yeah ....please tell me "HOW CAN I MEASURE it" !?? ...and any physical exercise to reduce it .??
      actually i am afraid of my "medical test" for joining army !!!..

    0:40 the subtitles say "ABDUCTION or Varus force". Obviously Abduction is wrong.

    I thought the Varus force is adduction... Not Abduction, like it shown in this video? The subtitles don't match the correct direction used

    Is the elbow placed into 30 degrees of flexion to put more stress on the LCL?

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  Před 7 lety +3

      The reason for 20-30° of flexion is to unlock the olecranon from the fossa to be able to apply the varus force.

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  Před 6 lety

      Haha no, just not an abrupt end-feel due to the lateral ulnar collateral becoming tight.

      @@sameenamjad5379 you are assessing the lateral ulnar collateral ligament which should not be affected by pronation or supination.
