A Very shallow post
on a very important subject about social media platforms your using
Just thought that needed to be pointed out
Lex has finally interviewed the most advanced robot ever made.
You just took the words from my mouth
He interviewed himself?
Love it 😂
ever*
He even gave him the "I'm not a robot" test
I'm glad to hear what a person says, and not just hear what other people say about him. Valuable.
Have to agree, never been a fan of mark zuckerberg but realise I've only been fed information about him via an algorithm that tries to get an emotional reaction, or whenever he's in the news for something meta did. It's refreshing to hear him just talk.
It's still hard to say where his heart is at and how I feel about his work but his ambition and ideas are interesting.
I find that what some people say about him disappointing. Disappointing in that, it seems to me, that people are doing what seems to be a popular narrative about Mark Zuckerberg. Describing him as unfeeling, like a robot, dehumanizing him, and dehumanizing Lex too.
What I see are two people who are thoughtful and with that thoughtfulness they can sometimes make such well considered responses that those responses are outstanding and so liken that precision to a robot rather than acknowledge the thoughtfulness of their responses.
I wish the interview was longer and hope they share another conversation. It seemed to me Mark Zuckerberg alluded to his openness or even interest in doing another. Hopefully he is not discouraged from the comments section of this video.
I'm sorry if my sentence construction isn't great... I just woke up but wanted to finish off the rest of the video and, unexpectedly, feel the impulse to do this comment -all while feeling a little sleepy lol.
Most of his critics are complete ideologue morons
Nice try robots.
@@jin6000 Nowadays every smart answer is considered "being a robot". What a sad world.
The devs have got to be thrilled with how human Mark sounds in this patch.
Underrated comment right here, because it's funny, but also true.
According to Le Bon, group intelligence is defined by the dumbest member, not smart one.
So in a social network, the dumbest idea always prevail over smart one. The free speech end result is consensus on the most stupid idea.
"Group decisions - my perhaps jaundiced view is that it is close to impossible for outstanding investment management to come from a group of any size with all parties really participating in decisions" - Warren Buffett.
The amount of botted comments and likes trying to fix zucc's image by commenting weird stuff about how human and relatable he is is so hilarious.
@@clodieclod What do you mean by botted? Like actual bots posting comments or just "bots" whom I see everywhere (highest concentration I run into is on the road lol) who just read the comments and copy what everybody else is saying as opposed to just posting a genuine comment they came up with while watching the video. I ask because I now think that most of the people on the comments section aren't actually people, but just a mix of AI and other, more crude bots like the reply girls.
Depends on the shtoyle
This is either going to be the most human conversation Zuckerberg has ever had or the most robotic conversation Lex has.
Or both? Lol good point
…….the most robotic.
LMAO I see that you're touching on the same thing I was…
I thought it was funny through watching this- Lex DID DO a phenomenal job!
That said- Mark kept his security parameters in place. throughout the entire interaction Mark was still the amalgamation of the perceivable veneer he wants us to see.
If it's super robotic... well at least the robo lover boy can enjoy himself (perhaps the audience may not as much)
I watched a demo of graphics cards & unity (something or other). We are there with photorealistic.
Not sure how close to we are with this headsets.
Would be wonderful we get there. To travel around. Photorealistic worlds to explore or even our real world. I very much look forward to Metaverse.
it's amazing to see two AI talking to each other
And neither of them once talked about being shut down and put into storage, truly a step forward

I’ve just recently discovered Lex and his interviews. I find them fascinating so far. It reminds me of Charlie Rose, where there’s no audience or graphic distractions. That pure conversation setting is incredibly enjoyable to absorb every bit of this valuable information. This interview specifically, I have a new found appreciation for Mark and his relentless determination to find the best way forward with Meta. He gets a bad rap from others in social media, after hearing this, I think he’s very under appreciated as a pioneer in this interface. Thank you both Lex and Mark for all this information to consider. 👍🍻🇨🇦

Lol. This podcast actually humanized Zuck more than I thought could be possible. He's just a huge nerd that wants everyone to come over and play at his house because he has the coolest new toys. Metaverse though is going to be the most epic flop of any new tech. I have to admit that I wasn't 99.9% sure of the existence of humanity in this gentleman's soul. Fortunately, this conversation got me pretty close to that number. Way to go, Lex. Your craft keeps getting better and better.
Before this interview, did you think that Zuckerberg was Dr Evil just manipulating humanity in his lab atop Mt. Everest? 😂 Whenever people point the finger at Zuckerberg as single-handedly destroying humanity, that tells me that you don’t understand algorithms, and that you don’t take responsibility for OUR role in the poison on social media. The algorithms amplify our good and bad, they don’t create it.
Right? It's Lex work. He must have done some serious coding prior this interview.
@@donharris8846 yep. I think it’s the same with anything and everything though, people included. When something results in a negative, we very quickly forget all the positives. I haven’t used Facebook in a few years now but I LOVED it for a good 5 or 6 years in my early 20’s. I made a lot of great friends on there and it was such a great way to keep in touch with people and share media.
But now people can only see it as some evil and manipulative tool. But like you said, that isn’t down to the service it’s down to the users who (for no fault of their own often) lack critical thinking skills, or who actively wish to manipulate and deceive. The kinds of people who would use any other form of media to do so, but Facebook is unfortunately perfect for nefarious deeds like that.

Very interesting Interview. When facebook started I got involved. I loved the group events. Im part of a huge Vespa and Lambretta Scooter scene here in Ireland. A club could post an event and it gave everyone the oppurtunity on one page to organize meet up along routes, who was attending and tech details. I loved it. As a cranky 50 year old who is and loves been anti social...........actually engaged because it was effortless and I enjoyed it. The main feed was full of my friends and I could see what was going on in their lives. I got involved.
Then over time it began to change. Had to go looking for my friends feeds. Ads that I had no interest in. Then difficulty seen the comments and had to click a few times just to see what people were saying. Then it got to the stage where it was just the most prolific and needy posters and commentators that I saw and it became annoying. The constant changes to the format turned me off. I haven't used facebook in years and never will.
My point: Mark ruined his own product and knew it but didn't care. He ploughed through his idea of 'bringing us all together' by applying his own warped idea of what people wanted. He was wrong and continued to ruin his product. But.....in investors and financial worlds- facebook was profitable which drove him more. Then the privacy issues kicked in and further ruined it. He is cut off from how people feel and cut off because of clearly doesn't have the capacity to empathise with the rest of us. This is the same person who early in years created a program that rated people by looks. A total disregard for how people would feel about getting judged on looks and appearance. This is the key to this man conscious.
All he has are cliched phrases when it comes to 'human' questions and about the 'human' experience. He has no experience with humans and resorts back to just saying words. He can talk about tech issues for hours but when it comes to the human experience- his answers drip with awkwardness.
Personally I hope he fails. I still dislike him.

Honerstly low key shade that seems to be overlooked in the comments beyond the "hur hur mark robot hur hur" was a great take.

@@mjn6six6 I think you need a lithium
It isn't about where he stands
He asked Mark to do it because he was incapable of it himself, Lex is a Gen4 Synth
I'm 19 years old and I've always thought that, as I get older, I don't want to become the grumpy old man that talks about how "the good old days", "kids these days" or how everything used to be better. I made it one of my life goals to keep up with technology. But hearing Mark say that soon, most of our meaningful experiences will supposedly be had in a digital world like the Metaverse, I'm starting to question my original stance.
First off, I don't believe a majority of humans will ever have most of their meaningful experiences in a virtual world. At least not until we reach a 'Ready Player One' level of realism and endless possibilities, a space and time that doesn't try to replicate the current world (like the Metavers is doing right now), but surpasses it by removing its limitations (like in the aformentioned movie). In such a case, I wouldn't be too opposed to this societal change.
Secondly, and because I don't think this level of realism will be possible until 30-40 years from now, Metaverse and its copies will continue to feel like a massive downgrade from 'real' society and life. It misses inherently human aspects such as senses (touch (and with that, temperature and human contact), smell, taste...), and lowers the of significance of things (virtual actions/events have no repercussions in the physical world and virtual objects aren't physically *real*).
Is there any possibility Lex is going to make a Podcast with maybe questions by his friends, fans and inspirations and asking them himself? He's so damn interessting and the people he interviews. love love love love it!
Lex has managed to humanize Zuckerberg in my eyes for the first time, or maybe it's just that I've never heard him speak for such a long period of time unscripted and openly, or maybe the AI is just getting really good now
Yeah I agree..im.surprised more big figures don't do this to Improve their image..I also find a bit disturbing that I could view someone so badly without really hearing them speak like this as well
Edit * upon reflection it's not so much I viewed Zuckerberg as the bad guy but more so Facebook as a whole
I think that's an issue with Zuckerberg. He rarely goes unscripted. Meanwhile, Musk isn't afraid to go unscripted, he shoots out some questionable tweets and smokes dope with Rogan. Musk has inhuman intelligence, ambition and work ethic - but we still see him as human because he's more open and real. Zuck should take notes.

I think that it has an affect on the brain after a while and not knowing that this increases these things. Instead of concentrating on their own lives, people worry about “keeping up with the Jones”.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Lex, that is the greatest into ever “can you circle all the lights please”
Love it. Much love.
Epic troll move
I think that part of the podcast is underrated 😂
Someone mentioned it in the comments before this was posted!
@@zunetrav4 it caught me off guard. The comedians are rubbing off on lex lol.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 lmfao
As much criticism Mark gets, kind of refreshing to hear his thoughts on Meta,AI,technology without all the dramatic bullshit.
Sucks that we won't likely hear Zuckerberg questioned about Epstein connections and why he censored Ghislaine Maxwells trial coverage after visiting Epstein Island multiple times.
@@Dfthg-bz3hp I love you for this 💜👍👍👍👍

what an intro by lex... Gave me chills, almost brought me to tears.
Same here. His sincerity is appreciated.

Yes . Exactly True. Thank you Alex for that Intro.,
Always have goosebumps on Lex's speeches. Strong words
I really enjoyed this human conversation with The Zuck, thank you Lex.
The zuck is the best. h8rs gonna h8.
@@Sal3600 wouldn't go that far.
I hate Zuckerberg but this is the most human i've ever seen him. I guess policy and humanity are different things, whatever.
"I want to make it a human experience. There are many human microreactions that are entire human. We want Meta to feel human. Like humans like"
@@Gaia_Gaistar Congrats....you've been fooled
Lex your optimizum is fabulous. If everyone had love and belief in the ability of humans to be good that would truly be a miracle of the world
I'm truly impressed by intensity of Mark's eye contact while having a conversation. At the same time Lex's natural respond to Mark's eyes.
Great interview Lex, you’re assembling an invaluable library of information with this channel. Hope you’re doing well x
Right! Until come one starts seeing these as misinformation! Haha
This was surprisingly interesting and Zuckerberg came off surprisingly well. It feels like it was rushed towards the end, I wish it would have lasted longer. I'll be hoping for a part 2 where things get to go deeper.
Zuck just had a software update. 🤖
I'm sure Zuck rehearsed all possible questions beforehand. He's been scrutinized so many times that he just repeats the same lines that he has memorized.
I think it’s because Zuck was asked human questions, rather than media narrative questions. The point here was to have a conversation, rather than to target key discussions. Which is why I love the Lex Fridman podcast. Make having normal human conversations normal again.
500 million spent to rig the election for Biden, next time he'll spend 5 Billion, no one should allow him in their to get away with it
Traditional media did a big push to turn Zuck into some kind of supervillain.
DUUUUDE I still can't get over your intro speech, it's truly awesome in all sense of the word.
Mr. Fridman not only do you have mt deepest respect, you also have my absolute undying loyalty. Whatever you say man I'm with you, alot of people prolly feel this way too, be wise, be fearless.
I fucking love you man.
Lex, love your calmness and intelect, so polite yet precise,
thankyou, we thankyou.
Intro was brave, heartfelt, powerful, and beautiful. Thank you Lex
Absolutely mind blowing how far robotics has come! You would swear these two are real humans
No, one is a reptilian ;)
Same joke I've seen 10 times already
but both have sit on different place let he is in place of fear zak in the place of let see that
I know maybe not everyone gets this, but this is randomly in I AM WILDCAT's "gta 5 funny moments" playlist.
What a powerful introduction. You really struck me with the array of sentences and statements you made. I fear nothing. I am inspired through you and your words your out look on life. I will take this energy to apply to my own life and actions and act out of love and communicate woth as many people. Thank you Lex. And thank God for letting me have this opportunity in life. Thankful.
this was actually way more interesting than I initially thought. I thought the Zuck would just go full cyborg and push the metaverse but he brought a more human version of his software today
Not really.

Wow. I actually thought exactly the opposite. I am surprised to see how much enthusiasm there still is in him. It's a nerdy one, so maybe it's not visible to everyone. I also got a bit upset on his uneasiness at Lex' comment following the (brilliant) bot test at the beginning. I liked the idea, I didn't like the "that is a very impressive performance" comment. Zuckerberg froze for a sec, I think it's very visible.
Haven't seen Mark talk in a long form discussion like this..
Well done Lex - you're breaking barriers!
Zukerbergs a fascist. He and his cronies need to be held accountable.
Haven't you watched his congressional hearings? Those were long form.
Mark's devs improved his battery life in the last update.
All memes aside, this interview really changed my idea of Mark for the better.
I like the intro Lex regardless of the rest of the interview which as i type i havent watched...very well spokem bruh... You do a great.job
He passed the Turing test!
Jokes aside Mark is really a misunderstood genius, sadly the media is dishonest.
Uh-huh
Ye
strange statement. what media? all media? someone from media? media channels? MZ is the media himself. I also feel the VR bandwagon will lose momentum when ppl realise it's just another arm of capitalism
oh god. not this "media bad" nonsense again.
Ur dumb. People hate him for a ton of really good reasons. If you don’t know then you don’t know. But it’s kind of like impossible not to know. It’s insane you got 30 likes.
Thanks for getting him on. I don’t think I’ve listened to a long-form podcast with Zuckerberg before. It was interesting to see how his mind works.
He’s got a pretty decent one with Gary Vee too! I think a couple of months ago

Hi Sam Harris,
I've been a huge fan of yours for years and found your wisdom greatly helpful in my life. Please please read this ASAP
I read your book on lying recently and though it was brilliant. I have thought for a very long time that truth absolutely matters. And like you said that the only replacement for bad science, is good science.
To get to the point and give a bit of context, the night before last (now the 25th of February) I was away with 6 friends, we took some LSD, then they mistook my dark humour for real danger (I've long been a fan of comedians like Ricky Gervais, Bill Burr, Jimmy Carr, Jim Jefferies and the late Robin Williams and Christopher Hitchens)
They then tried coercing me into committing suicide, and if I didn't do it, they would kill me.
They were trying to build up the courage to do it themselves as time went on.
As they were scared for their own safety and thought this was their only option.
I tried my best to assure them I was absolutely harmless (which I know I am) but failed in the end to do so.
This lasted for well over 12 hours where I was terrified to move and try get out for help. I ended up getting family to call for help urging for police, but only an ambulance came, they refused to take me and insisted I went with the friends who wanted me dead. untill I ran myself for help.
I was absolutely terrified and still think there is a huge threat. No one really seems to believe me so far (but now my therapist and 2 of my best friends do) and I'm hoping so much that you may be able to hear me out and help me as to where to go from here. I'm now with family and terrified to go home or get back to work and normal life.
I'm scared that talking to police/lawyers/journalists will put me in more danger as I'm guessing they are unlikely to believe me at first, and I don't know the intricacies of the law surrounding their responsibilities.
So I'm hoping you will believe me, and I can prove it somehow. I also don't want them charged with anything or any bad to ever come to them in any form because I don't believe in free will, and think they are good people in a horribly misunderstood situation.
Another thing of importance is that I've had depression on and off for around 20 years. And after this experience where i thought I was certainly going to die, there is no way I'd ever think of suicide as an option again. and l still think the threat is active. So if I dissappear, or appear to commit suicide, I assure you this is not the case.
This is no kind of joke, please, please help me. I'm willing to send $1000 worth of BTC first to prove it. I emphasize first!
You can reach me on +64 210624383
Pleading regards, Joel
@@TSG07 Gary Vee ruined that one tbf, I’m a fan of him but he talked way too much instead of focussing on interviewing Mark
@@Sylar-451 What do you think Sam Harris is going to be able to do for you? I'm not even sure what exactly you're asking. To just believe you? Keep speaking with your therapist friend. I have one too, they help.
@@sandollor thanks, I see your point, and trust me I do realize just how insane all of this appears..
For one, I have no one in my life who I've ever really been able to connect with on a scientific perspective like I get with Sam, Alex, Stephen and Drew. And it feels so incredibly isolating it's not funny. This is no one's fault, given my view and the likelyhood that there's no free will, like these people also believe.
I've up routed my whole life, terrified to go back anywhere near my home, as I know there's still a decent chance of a threat to my life.
I'm starting to feel a little better and safer, and with that a little clearer thought on how to proceed. But I know that lying isn't part of that. And Sam and the others I think would at least be interested enough to do a little digging and see this is no delusion. And then if they do agree it's real, surely they would have some insight as to where to go from here.
Or maybe not, and I'll have to get myself out of this mess somehow. After the week I've had, nothing would suprise me now. Feel free to call me yourself if you'd like more details. Contact with a stranger might just help or at least help me reflect
