      Great idea! One of the best parts of chefs getting on a show like this is now so many folks know who they are and what they're capable of - a gofundme or similar could make it happen! I'm actually going to try to contact her myself for possible investment/collaboration! :D

      yes, could be advertised the menues in advance at vegan groups. alternative grocery stores... in an area that doesnt have vegan options would be great to be able to try differing countries vegan food!!! and an advantage shifting the menu so tempting to go to the same place more often.

    I was rooting for Chef Theresa, her idea didn’t seem well understood by the judges but her concept of a supper club has recently become very popular here in California where I live and I favored it over the other ideas. But congrats to all chefs, we need a season 2!

    i agree w teresa, there are still SO FEW vegan fine dining options (lots on the west coast, but i'm sure it's few and far between in other states). teresa cooked downnnnn and gave the judges a unique dish w unique flavors and big ass portions!!!! like a momma would! and her business pitch was so good!! as a black vegan, i've never thought of trying german food ever! i would love a pop-up w more flavorful global dishes.
    and chloe really make chickpea wraps??? and vegan energy balls??? and a nondescript salad?? and her business pitch was for this food to sit in a kiosk for purchase by picnic go-ers??? where's the soul in that? i'm so confused... this was def entertaining.

    I think everyone expected chef chloe to win. she was the one that had the most experience as a professional chef after all. I don't like how they took problems with the very essence of chef Teresa's idea though. her entire concept was bringing cuisines from different cultures and that would be how she could stand out. I thought she had a very strong pitch. all-in-all I really appreciate you guys doing this top vegan chef series. Loved it a lot and I hope there's more to come!

      I like Chef Teresa's pitch. I live in a town with only one high end vegan restaurant and their menu has not changed once since it was finalized years ago! I'd go more often if they would innovate more and change it out. I once talked to the chef to request he put a piccata dish (my favorite) on the menu and he said "There's a restaurant I know in Florida that has a piccata as their menu anchor, and I don't want to step on any toes" ??? I love a great basic menu but with surprising specials, theme dinners etc.

    • @mongesaudade
      @mongesaudade Před rokem +23

      They shut down Teresa's idea real quick. Teresa hit it on the nail in offering both intimacy and experience with global cuisine, where you can travel with the deep bites of culture. I don't want this mass produced, fake-ass picnic, with a wrap sourced from Walmart produce.

    • @sarahdee374
      @sarahdee374 Před rokem +18

      @@mongesaudade I don't think they understood in full. I believe she wanted a high quality, from scratch restaurant with varying specials of international cuisine plates, as I understood it. I especially like to eat creative vegan dishes that I can't really prepare for myself at home. A wrap or sandwich I can definitely do, but paprikash ( I think that's what it was), not so much.

    • @AuraSparks
      @AuraSparks Před rokem +10

      It's important to keep the editing in mind too. They have to pick a small soundbite of feedback of each judge and for each contestant, so we don't get a good view of the Judge's actual overall analysis. I think the contestants were so equally strong that Teresa's idea being a little underexplained is a legitimate concern, even if I agree that her idea was totally solid. As others say, I'm not sure the judges got it, but that's also her job as the presenter. No matter who got the axe it would've been sad, I'm glad she held her head high

    This was my 55th birthday present, May 21st, 2023.
    Thank you.
    I don't have much longer to experience life. I just don't; I don't want to explain my health issues.
    So, I got to experience life in six short episodes, reminding me of my late husband and I watching Top Chef, ten years ago or so, learning so much, doing so much together in our kitchen, before he died in front of me, of his final heart attack, on our front walk.
    Now, I get to see what we might have done, who we might have become. You can't know what this means to me. Thank you all.
    P.S. I disagreed with your ending. Teresa won so many competitions, all along. She was the star. But so many here made things I could only aspire to do. I wish I could share their dishes with my family and friends, especially my current husband. Again, thank you. I don't have to agree to have enjoyed this life with you. Be well.

      Chef's, welders, fisherman and bartenders don't tend to live long but they party hard! I am 60 years old and have life threaten illness as well. I wish I come do it all over again and be vegan all my life. I would be kicking it into high gear instead of maybe taking a dirt nap. I went vegan at the age 49 after years of eating the SAD. I ate flesh ever meal and sometime snacks! Vegan food today is being invaded with salt and chemical. Which is not healthy at all. I see how much salt is added to these dishes and even the chef making comments about Salt. Salt is not a food group! Oil is just as bad. We are losing out battle to the taste police. I remember when I went vegan and after a few weeks how delicious a large salad of whole veg tasted and I grave it! It needed no oil of salt! It was perfect. Your taste buds will rebound after being hooked on salt! Learn what real food taste like! Go Vegan!

We're not vegan but have been actively working to incorporate more plant-based dishes in our diet so we really appreciate the inspiration and encouragement we found here. Subscribing and hoping to see a Series 2. One suggestion I would love to see is if you could highlight the ingredients used more. Like in the Dessert episode, I was fascinated by how the chefs made their recipes without eggs and diary. While I'm sure long-time vegans already know all these tricks, it would be great for those of us still dipping our toes in vegan cooking.

    Teresa's business concept was VERY good. As long as it isn't over the top expensive and allowing only customers with deep pockets to dine out, AMAZING. I would have voted for her. Chloe will have to charge as much or more for a lunch picnic than a restaurant given local fees, licenses, parking permits, personnel that fluctuate more than a restaurant, limited seasonal opportunities, transportation, kiosk costs, it goes on an on. It is HARD work from all I've seen to do kiosks and food trucks. But I wish them both well. Different kind of show, I hope to see more focused on cooking.

    Maybe it’s me, but when Theresa pitched her idea, I was thinking that each time there was an event, there would be a different theme/location, so no two menus were the same, and she was showing them the different regions she’s done so far, not necessarily that all of those foods were going to be available at the same time…similar to what I saw this guy on TikTok does with his friends, but it either wasn’t properly communicated that way or the judges didn’t understand…I do hope she continues and starts that business cuz it sounds fun and similar to something I wanted to do in my area (but not vegan). Also, good luck to Chloe’s picnic venture. I know “glamping”, hostels and wellness/spiritual retreats have become more popular in the recent years. Maybe she can also have kiosks/partnerships at those types of locations as well. Can’t wait for season 2!

    Theresa was the standout and I think that she should have won. I don't know if it was some ageism at work here, but she presented herself as an old housewife looking to distract herself when really, she was already running this supper club and had pictures to prove it.
    Chloe looks like the typical person who would win something like Hell's Kitchen. She looks young and ready to take orders and conform to a paradigm. Theresa was super innovative. I love the idea of a supper club that does have cuisines from different cultures in a deep dive cultural experience. I am thinking $40 a plate for that and leave the portions big so there are leftovers or at least people don't leave wanting more.
    A kiosk in the park with a vegan picnic is a good idea, but the price is too high. I would say $10, and you don't need the wicker basket with it, maybe just a folding cardboard mat or some heavy paper towel place mats. The food was very ordinary, well made, but nothing super exciting. Apparently, it was too spicy for the Onion Maiden also.
    Shanleigh was a very good sport. She didn't cry at the end and bemoan why she didn't win. She had a good try, but it was kind of boring looking. I think that was more like an appetizer than a main dish.

    This was a great series and nice to see so many different ideas. I like Chloe's idea and if you want to get the message out there what better way than to sell picnics to families and to have great memories of those days out eating plant based food. Theresa's idea was also good but more niche, the portions were huge, and not as healthy as there was a lot of frying. I'm not against that but the Western world needs to rein in on fried foods a tad. To sum it up the whole series had a lot of talent with great ideas. Looking forward to the next series.

    It was nice having a cooking show to watch. All other cooking shows us off putting ingredients that make it impossible to watch.
    Wish there was more background information on the contestants like in “the great british sewing bee.”

    The sashimi tomato sounds so good, but I'm glad Chloe won. I love her idea, though it would probably work better as a food truck than a kiosk. I attend a monthly vegan event and they have a different vegan food truck each month. Chloe's prices were very reasonable too. Good luck to all. I look forward to another season of this positive, inspiring show! :)

    I know I comment this every episode but you gotta turn the background music down. It’s awful and distracting.

    I loved the civility and humility approach the show has taken. Very talented bunch of chefs and all worthy of a top vegan spot. Very well put together, can’t wait for season 2.

    Very happy to have found a vegan cooking show. Thank you so much for creating this!
    Would love to see more b roll of food and have the music volume down a bit for the season 2.
    That said, the vibe was amazing and I will probably re watch this while waiting for more.

    Pop up supper club is much more viable than a picnic kiosk.
