    On the strength of this vid I contacted Erica at Down and bought a Down BVE. Took a few months to arrive in Denmark and it was love at first play. I have a Martin OM 42 hardly touch it anymore because the BVE is just so user friendly. Thank you for the introduction. Amazing value for money.

    I recently looked at torrefied top comparisons across all sorts of CZcams videos. I wouldn't be anxious about your audio. It's actually above average. Well done demo guys.

    got yesterday my first Dowina from my bro - he's a trading partner of dowina - perfect sound - if you see the cost of this - wow

    Guys are you using room mics or going through the camera? Reason I ask is there is a lot of background noise that comes in when you are not speaking and that usually happens when going through the camera. Apart from that, these are absolutely stunning guitars. I really don't think there is a better parlour guitar on the market right now. The sound is huge for such a small body yet very controlled and not as boxy as many guitars of this size. Would definitely recommend people head to the store and try them out once the lockdown is done.

      Hello!!
      Just to confuse you - it's a bit of both! We're using room mics, but they are plugged direct into the camera - so I think the camera is adding a wee bit of that natural compression that causes that background noise to get louder.
      Having said all that though - Richard and I are looking into upgrading on the camera front, so I'm sure we'll be looking into making sure it sounds as good as possible too :-)

    • @yamahamusicians
      @yamahamusicians Před 3 lety

      @@jonbinns2206 Ahh ok. If you are not doing so already it helps to go into a mixer first and then to the camera. Mic levels on the camera need to be almost zero and then use the mixer to bring levels up again.

      @yamahamusicians Před 3 lety

      @@gammaraygem Yes, I ruined 6 of my own videos before I realised it was the camera mic volume causing the noise. I now take the room mics into a USB powered mixer and from there into the camera. The other way to do it is to record the audio separately from the video and sync them up later. It is a bit more messing around but it works well. It's all a learning curve though and one I am still trying to get perfect.

      @@gammaraygem Just what I was thinking, it's called AGC Automatic Gain Control and I have also noticed it on RG vids. I haven't yet come across an acoustic guitar where the sustain actually increases in volume over time (and I wouldn't want it either !) :-)

    Quick question. Do you sell the Dowina guitar cases? Have a Dowina GAC I bought from you and would love a Dowina case for it :)

  • @sinnersdwarf7138
    @sinnersdwarf7138 Před 3 lety +1

    At what price point do they come with a case? Can you buy the case separately and are cases available for all sizes?

    • @RichardsGuitarshop
      @RichardsGuitarshop  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi - You can indeed buy a case with any Dowina guitar. I actually dont like pushing the case so that people can choose whether they want one or not and if they do want a case they may rather have a Hiscox. For those that do want one they are available!

    They sound nice, but not being a millionaire, I couldn't justify spending a grand on so little wood.
