- Chain is one of the most important component of your bike as it is what powers the rear wheel. It is very important to clean and lubricate chain on regular intervals. So many people used engine oil and grease to lubricate motorcycle chain.

chain drive of your bike has to be in proper condition so that the there is no power dissipation when it is delivered from the engine via the cam chain tensioner to the rear wheel.
A bike’s chain, sprocket and the cam chain tensioner are the main components that transfer power to the road from the engine. The chain-sprocket technique is one of the most efficient method to power the rear wheel and that’s why most of the manufacturers use it.

👍Its helpful info abt bike chain cleaning & oiling,which recommended gear oil,thanks sir for gave a vital info
theres no perfect lubricant for a chain drive..1. can lubes are best in performance (but your 2k costing chain sprocket doesn't deserve that much attention unless.......)
2. Gear oils are cheap and easy to clean (but in the end of the day you re actually riding with no lubrication because it slings off after 50-60 kmph ..it won't stay..)
3. Engine oil is not cheap..its free..and it slings lesser than gear oil and more than a lubricant.. but it attracts dust more than gear oil..cleaning is as easy as gear oil..
I would suggest you buy a 1lt 20w50 oil new..and use it..its costlier than gear oil and cheaper than can lubes..it slings off lesser..and a new oil will not make you chain look black..
but again in the end of the day you re still riding with no lubrication..
Conclusion? - use can lubes..riding a motorcycle is still cheaper than a four wheeler😂😂😂😂😅
there is hack.. I am using grease + oil combo.. mix grease and oil in 2:1 ratio. Then apply the paste on chain and sprocket completely (both front and rear). It stays for atleast 300-350 km or a week ( based on your daily run). I am using this for more than 3 years it works like magic. Note ( always use fresh grease and oil if you are using already used grease or oil it is of no good).
