I was about 8 when I first heard Bruce. It was Waitin On A Sunny Day. Then I saved up my money and bought the essential Bruce Springsteen and have been steadily building up my collection ever since. 10 years later, still my favourite artist.
One of the best songs ever made. Means a lot also great that it's by the best singer/songwriter/performer in the world the effort he puts in wen he on stage is unreal been a good few time to see him and everytime he's played this it like the world stops and u just sing without a care in the world
I was 16 when Live 1975-85 came out. Been a sucker for a live album since I was a kid in the '70's (Alive II, Gratitude, Commodores Live), so, I bought the 5 LP box set on release day. Your "bang for your buck" comment is something I had thought of to myself just the other day. I think what set Bruce apart is the emphasis over the decades on current material in the live shows. Whereas Macca will play 25 Beatles tunes in a 32 song set, Bruce has never been in danger of being a nostalgia act.
William Sullivan Always liked this song. Weinberg is a good drummer ofc, but I never could stand to watch him play. So goddamned gay looking the way he overdoes the arm swinging and big swoops. :P
I was there and what a day it was, the heat was unbelievable , with a storming set from the Boss/E street band, will go down as a rare concert, this will be one and only time hard rock calling and the wireless festivals will be hosted here, all the flats around the temp venue will be sold by next year, going back to Hyde park would be a great option.
Well, they blew up the chicken man in Philly last night And they blew up his house, too Down on the boardwalk they're ready for a fight Gonna see what them racket boys can do Now there's trouble busin' in from outta state And the D.A. can't get no relief Gonna be a rumble on the promenade And the gamblin' commissioner's hangin' on by the skin of his teeth Everything dies, baby, that's a fact But maybe everything that dies some day comes back Put your makeup on, fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City Well, I got a job and I put my money away But I got the kind of debts that no honest man can pay So I drew out what I had from the central trust And I bought us two tickets on that Coast City bus Everything dies, baby, that's a fact But maybe everything that dies some day comes back Put your makeup on, fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City Now our luck may have died and our love may be cold But with you, forever I'll stay We'll be goin' out where the sands turn to gold But put your stockings on 'cause it might get cold Oh, everything dies, baby, that's a fact But maybe everything that dies some day comes back Put your makeup on, fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City Now I've been lookin' for a job, but it's hard to find There's winners and there's losers And I'm south of the line Well, I'm tired of gettin' caught out on the losin' end But I talked to a man last night, gonna do a little favor for him Well, everything dies, baby, that's a fact But maybe everything that dies some day comes back Put your makeup on, fix your hair up pretty And meet me tonight in Atlantic City Oh, meet me tonight in Atlantic City Oh, meet me tonight in Atlantic City
I'm curious, what draws you to the E Street Band in 2013 at your age? It's a LOT different from when I first came on board as a teen in '84 when they ruled the charts for a year or 2. FAR less media-generated hype now.

Hahaha it really is! I was listening to it thinking, this is too slow! But now - solved!
Dude doesn't even compare to Levon Helm's version, or Levon himself!
