As someone diagnosed with OCD, all these comments about how she doesn’t have OCD, how it’s just perfectionism, feel really dismissive. OCD stands for obsessive compulsive disorder. How it works it there is an obsession that the patient has. This obsession could be anything. It could be obsessing over your health (thinking that you’re dying, etc.), over whether the taps have been shut off, or like in Khloe’s case, whether there are stains on the floor.
It causes anxiety in the person, and they have to act on a compulsion to alleviate this anxiety. This can take the form of (in respective order): seeing a doctor, checking the taps over and over (and this can eventually result in a pattern/ ritual you have to follow), or wiping the stains constantly.
What separates perfectionism from OCD is that even perfectionists are able to walk away and put it at the back of their minds if needed, while those with OCD will literally keep obsessing over it in their minds and feel more and more anxious. From this video, we don’t know what Khloe actually feels inside. She could be feeling extremely anxious, or she could be at ease. Who knows. You can’t say for sure that she HAS. OCD, but I think it’s really damaging to just dismiss it and say that it’s not. Stop diagnosing/ dismissing people based on one clip and an incomplete understanding of what OCD is.
Ive also seen comments dictating what OCD IS, like having a ritual and counting steps. That’s a common obsession that many with OCD have, but like I said, obsessions can be very unique and specific to an individual. I know another person with OCD who can’t let his elbows touch his paper when he’s writing.
While I understand that mainstream media often perpetuate misinformation and harmful stereotypes of mental health issues, please make sure that in your endeavours to correct it, you don't wound up spreading more misinformation as well.

So so agree with you. I dunno if this was an obsession but when I was 7 yrs old I just needed my hands to be damp like how they are after you wash them. For some reason dry hands or cream on my palms made me really uncomfortable. Only thing that helped was water. It was difficult getting through a even one class without water. Sounds ridiculous. I dunno how I stopped it. N I dunno if that was OCD but it was surely not normal. Because for some reason I felt immense guilt after I wet my hands as if I did something I wasn't supposed to.

I have ocd, ocd when somebody is obsessed with doing something ( that's why it stands for obsessive compulsive disorder ) and they keep just doing it and doing it. Like khloe is obsessed with cleaning.
But it's not only that. It gives you absouloute anxiety and its not fun! Ocd is there and always will be, its like a demon. It forces you to do something you don't want to and you don't feel comfortable if you don't do it. That's why you do it.
For example:
Khloe just finished cleaning. Finally she wants to rest, but then she sees that little tiny stain on the floor
Her brain thinks: *"should I do it? No.. it's just a stain...but I don't feel comfortable if I don't clean it.."*
And then ocd forces her to clean it cause she feels like she will die or whatever if she doesn't.
The obsession can be anything, sleeping, walking, talking, cleaning, yelling, etc..
YES those who dont have ocd shouldnt even be telling her that she doesnt have it
Idk if I have ocd, but I always repeat things in my head until it’s perfect to the point where I get mentally tired and annoyed. I have so much intrusive thoughts and also that fact that I’m aware they’re intrusive thoughts and they just keep coming coming and coming.

I don’t currently have ocd, but when I was younger I had these urges for clicking the lights on and off, wagging doorknobs and taking steps a certain amount of times. It was never a fixed number, I just repeated doing these things until I reached a number that satisfied me at that time. I then taught myself to stop feeding into them (without even knowing what they were, I just decided I had enough lol) until they eventually kind of faded away. I was between the ages of around 11-13 I think. Not very sure but young either way. My intrusive thoughts later morphed into me being distracted by things, affecting my focus. And now I feel like my intrusive thoughts are more in an intense kind of way sometimes. Idk if I’m over analysing but this is what I think it is. So I relate to intrusive thoughts. Intrusive thoughts for me right now. Might schedule another app with my therapist lmao

I think the issue is her mom is trying to force her to see a therapist and that'd never work. She has to want to go to a therapist herself. Think of all the times your parents forced to get something, specifically something involving someone else that you don't want to offend. For example, you're buying clothes and there's a lady helping your mom picking your clothes. You dont want your mom to pick your clothes but you also dont want to be rude to the lady and refuse everything and dismiss her hard work. It feels very triggering for me personally.

No I don’t think so, that is the hoarders or old properties that are going on sale and they haven’t been lived in for like 7 years so everything is mouldy.
There is this one episode and it’s about this woman and she like 30 years old and has 2 kids and she spends 8 hours a day cleaning she hoovers her house every time she does something and she constantly wipes the tables and he family doesn’t like it because she doesn’t spend time with them.
So she has to clean this really manky house to show that cleaning is good but you don’t need to do it to the extent that it effects your life

I found that my cleaning and organising got worse when my relationship and my life were out of control. That's all she's doing, projection, she isn't in control of her life so she controls what she eats, looks like and her home.

It wasn’t like Khloe just turned around and self diagnosed herself, her mum recommended her to see a therapist and she did to see if she had a problem (which she even said she thought she didn’t have one). I don’t see the problem with that in fact I think it was good that Khloe decided to go and see a professional. So you’re saying that was taking the piss out of you, so if I go see a therapist because I think I have anxiety does that mean I’m taking the piss out of people with anxiety?

If she genuinely has OCD I think it's a good thing to talk about as they have a platform to raise awareness but I get why people get irritated by the constant use of "I'm soo OCD" when it's actually perfectionism but in this instance I think how defensive she was shows there's a genuine issue present
