And it is, with this in mind, imperative that he stops whatever else he is doing, and just concentrate on finishing this album. Madness how he can proclaim to be a full-time musician yet release 3 albums in 16 years. Constantly blaming lack of computing power, such a pathetic excuse. Perhaps use some of the half a million Euros from the crowdfunding campaign and invest in a decent computer.

Meanwhile Jari use the Nolly plugging, which cost way more than the Fortin, AND he is selling the preset
And yeah, they had the money to buy a few custom shop guitar that were easily 5k to 10k euros each, but no money to buy a decent computer

Have you checked Hannes's solo albums. The closing/title track on his debut album The Radial Covenant by Per Nilsson is a masterclass solo. The title track to Pers bands Scar Symmetry's Neohumanity album's final solo is even better. 10/10 solos

The more I'm learning about guitars (which isn't much so far), without owning one (yet...), the more I'm blown away by tiny moments like this. I doubt I'll ever achieve this skill level, but it'll be fun to try. But...those hands...?! Erg?!?!
It's called tapping, one of the more advanced techniques that aren't easy to master. Not many people people in the world can play like Jari, you need to have passion, talent and tons of practice to get godlike.

Tim Dijkstra Well, the crowd funding thing failed becouse Wintersun hasn't got enough attention and so Jari decided to start a new one soon >.> This will take like one year or more I think. If Jari gets the support he needs (the money he needs), the studio he wants has to get build first. After that he's able to record and mix the new album which is also going to take some time. You see, there's no way the album will come out soon.

Now that I've heard the "new" song Storm, it just doubled the excruciating pain of waiting for Time II to be released.
The new song is not 'Storm.' That song has a running time of roughly 12 minutes. That information came directly from a Facebook post from Kai.
The new song is much more likely from the next crowdfunding album.
Also, lyrically, the album matches nothing from Time I or 'The Way of the Fire.'
Its also has zero oriental influence, which we all know is very present in both Time I/II albums.
Orchestrally it's not as involved either. I saw the song live in Dallas.
The evidence that it's not 'Storm' for outweighs that it is 'Storm.'
Just my two cents.

Time I is a masterpiece. I don't understand why Time II isn't being funded the way it needs to be. Given that I want the new album (and possibly Time III, IV, V and so on) I will donate to Wintersun to continue making music. I have no affiliation with the band, just a guy in Australia who wants to hear more from this incredible band
Maiden Aust i dont understand why time II aint released - i remember back in 2011, jari announced time would be split into time I and time II and that this was a choice nuclear blast did for whatever reasons.
back then, it didnt sound like "we will release the parts of time that are ready as time I but rest still has to be produced"
what i understood back then, the album was complete but nuclear wanted the split and now, for whatever reason, the 2nd part aint coming. and this makes me really sad, as way of the fire shows the potential of wintersun way more then time I imo (while time I is still a good album)

KeiBrightwing if you watch the forest seasons documentary, he gives perfectly reasonable explanation for it.
The absence of the mixing studio needed for all of this complex post-Time I material, and the imperfect nature of Time I's mix itself, is the great musical tragedy of the 2010s to me. Let's hope that the crowdfunding succeeds as a direct solution. 400,000+ Euros is a great start and should line Time II to be the next album after the fourth Wintersun full length. (i.e. after whatever follows The Forest Seasons)

Now late 2021 he says one of the 4 upcoming albums is over 50% done. And its not Time II. I supported the crowdfunding and will support in future. I hope im so fucking wrong.
And as of yesterday, he said he stopped working on Time II since 2014 because he want to focus on other album and other stuff

And if you count the the demo - Immemorial from 1997 - 5 songs but one of them is Sadness and hate so 4 more songs.

This is my favorite Wintersun song. And maybe we'll never hear it officially recorded. I've listened so many times..I've downloaded all the known videos and converted it in mp3 just to listen the song properly without YT. What a peculiar thing, my favorite song is a live bootleg of something that is never been released. And maybe, we will never listen again Jari on the solo, since Temu is now the lead guitar player. He will play Jari's part in live concerts since Jari doesn't play guitar live anymore but I still hope that the solo on the record, if we'll ever hear it, will be played by him. This is absurd.

I feel your pain. From 1999 until 2019, I only had the CD version of Demons & Wizards "Fiddler on the Green." They did 2 shows (in 1999/2000) where there is video, and Hansi was sick for the good quality version. I thought, 'I would love to hear Hansi sing this song live, just once.' D&W reunited in 2019 (!!!) - and they played the song at WACKEN! For me, it is a dream come true, even if others do not see it that way. Sadly Jon went and stormed the Capitol building with protestors in 2021 and he effectively killed D&W forever. With Wintersun? You never know.. but miracles do happen, brother.

There are two kinds of music listeners in this world. The first kind comprises of people who take in the music brainlessly, just listening to something without knowing why or for what reason. Whether you give them Beethoven or Lil Wayne, it won’t make even a pennyworth of difference. Now there is a second kind of listener.This kind does not just listen to music, but lives it. This kind experiences the music at simultaneously many levels, not just in an auditory fashion. These kinds of listeners are few, especially if the age group is constricted from teenage to the low 20s, something that was done by the researcher Virgil Griffith. But it can be confidently stated that a person in that age group generally listens to music superficially. For a teenager to experience a song or an instrumental piece is rare, and those who do, listen to Beethoven as much as Kenny G, as much as Linkin Park, as much as Pink Floyd. These ‘music experiencers’ will almost never listen to songs by Lil Wayne or Beyonce,because Firstly, those songs are totally meaningless & secondly, those songs have no enticing melody, and thirdly, because characters like Lil Wayne are almost not someone you want to identify with. But the average teenager getsinto a rut, and just listens to what the web shows as the week’s “HOT 100”. The teenager is literally being fed these songs. Very few teenagers exist who sift through songs based on quality instead of just listening to whatever the heck they get. If these “HOT xyz” lists were to be replaced by the works of Mozart ,and Beethoven, the same experiment would see a huge shift in statistics relating the SAT scores to the type of music someone prefers.
Let me give an example. Take 1000 people from that age group, and let 10 of them be the experiencers. From these 10, let 4 choose Beethoven as their favourite, while the other 6 have eclectic tastes and preferences, with the remaining 990 preferring everything else. Obviously the ones being eclectic overlap in tastes with both the 990 andthe 4, but the 990 will obviously dominate their respective Genres. Thus the experiment will show that the ones preferring Beethoven are better in SATs,etc. The Beethoven is not important here, but the sheer numbers dominating all the other genres, is. Thus, if someone really has an ear for music, it does not matter what he listens to, because whatever it is, it will always complement his/her intelligence, because people who listen to songs without any thinking,and follow people like Beyonce, Lil Wayne, or Kanye West blindly, just because they think that they are cool and don’t give a f**k, are mostly the people who have a very low opinion formation capacity, low thinking capacity, and absolutely no taste in music.

i think that there is also many people among those who listen to metal that actually don't give a shit about what it is about and don't care about lyrics and emotional content. for the group of people i'm talking about i think it's all about "i wanna be the tough guy, i wanna listen to stuff as brutal as possible, i wanna listen to stuff that others feel alienated"... there is also a certain amount of metal bands that only serve to satisfy these needs...
BUT with bands like wintersun, with many bands of melodic death metal that inweave a lot of compassion, dedication and emotion in general, it's different. this type of music and band is very authentic and honest albums are written by one songwriter or one band that stant for the content, and produced by one producer. an album by rihanna is written by 18 songwriters and produced 25 producers... therefore mainstream pop music is very superficial and made for an undifferentiated public and there is no deeper connection between the "artist"/performer and the audience.
music from bands like wintersun has a lot of depth and content and one has to somehow make an effort (what is a significant threshold for mainstream consumers) to connect with this kind of music. but once you manage to link with it, it opens you a whole magnificent world of honest and true emotions.
after all i think it's all about the question, whether someone only wants to just consume and have some sound on his/her ears or someone really wants to sit down and listen truly to the music and is open for building up an emotional relation with it (what i think anyways is only possible with authentic music written by "true" songwriters). that's why some bands are only hyped over quite short spaces of time and on very rare occations while others have fans that stay true for decades...
So great to be here now knowing Time II is done and being released in just another 5 months. My goodness I am so excited.
