- It's been 4 years since Dark Travel was made. This level was going to be made for GDS CC (Geometry Dash Discord Server Creator Contest), which has a rule of remaking levels that were submitted for previous contests. In this case, Dark Travel was submitted for Viprin Creator Contest 8 and it got 3rd place in the Unknown results. Remember that? So yeah, that's the reason why I started making this level. But the deadline was already due by July 22nd 2020. So I didn't finish it in time. But I took my time for 13 months in the making of the level and it's all worth it. I also did 142 streams of me building the level on my Twitch channel and I had a lot of fun building it. I hope you enjoyed all the building process if you were there.
About the level, this level is a remake of a level I made 4 years ago, which made me pop off in terms of my Geometry Dash creating career. This level has a lot of improved and new fitting parts along the way. Now that I have much more experience on creating levels, I know the best practices for making better gameplay and very appealing visuals. So yeah, hopefully this level is much better in almost if not every way. And I hope you enjoy playing it!

Coin Guide:
Coin 1: During the ship at the beginning, hit a glowing section above the saw at (0:10), then collect a skull after holding at (0:42). Then, skip the red orb at (1:02 ) and collect the coin by jumping before the blue pads at (1:11)
Coin 2: Press the two buttons at (1:35) and (1:41) by skipping the gravity portals with a shorter hop, then hit a trigger at the top of the ship at (2:43), then collect the robot and mini portals at (2:47) and (2:50), before heading the downwards path at (2:57) to collect the coin
Coin 3: Collect the two mini coins at (4:16) and (4:20) by skipping the green orbs, then jump onto the block at (5:12), before hitting the blocks at (5:23). Finally, collect the two keys at (5:37) by jumping onto a block and (5:54) by jumping earlier than needed and time the jump at (6:09) to collect the last coin.

Yeah this part is beautiful its like you just go back to all your past of this game to remember all the style, creators and hype of this game, even the Dead people.. and then sadly end after all this trip. So nostalgic
At 12:52 above the triple spikes it says “RIP Michigun”, his impact was incredible, and it makes me smile knowing he’s considered in this masterpiece. Great job Jonathan.

I just came across this on Viprin's channel... I haven't played as much GD as I used to, but Dark Travel was such an iconic level back in the day. This tribute is absolutely perfect. There's so many references to the original... It just... It's so good. I got chills while watching this and had to rewatch it multiple times afterwards. Absolutely legendary. The amount of detail into each section is astonishing. You are incredible... Thanks for making this. :D
The ship at 79% is nothing short of incredible. It keeps flipping through different styles and I love it so much. It's my favourite part of the level but that's not to say that I forgot about the rest too. Dark Odyssey is definitely one to remember. Amazing work, Jonathan!

I agree, I look up to Jonathan in creating. He definitely inspires me to create, but I just cant decorate as impressive as he can.

Jonathan, I know I wasn't there when you were building or verifying most of the times but I just want to say congratulation!! It is a really beautiful level that implements dark travel really well. Gameplay is really creative and the design is astonishing. My favourite part is the mini-normal size ship when it flashes a lot of block designs, old and new designs. I want to say again congratulations and I am really exited to play this level even though I am not at that skill level. ;)

This is a total masterpiece, all your work is amazing, i cant wait to practice this level and beat it.
This level is like a movie. It starts off really easy and peaceful, then you get to the more intense parts. The fact that the gameplay and decoration matches the song is amazing. And the special effects make this much better. Nice level!
