Dude awesome video, I got the same setup for my PS5 with a C1 OLED and it's awesome for gaming. I played Ghost of Tsushima and the decode light was on, game set to 5.1 audio and I heard the blacksmith hammering away on metal behind me in the game from the rear channels. It is so immersive. Just turn off the controller speaker so all audio goes to your speakers. Make more content on the best 5.1 sounding games on the PS5, cheers dude!

I didn't see you mention the audio extractor (or I'm dumb and missed it). Nope you might not need one after all… Depending on your TV it might be able to decode the audio for you like mine. I only have a mid-range TV so you should be fine if your TV is 2021 or newer.
@@Android-mw6ut most games are encoding there Surround Mix via a formating layer and to get the ”True Surround” audio files to begin to sound sometimes Dolby the native surround standard is the right choice. There are ZERO native DTS Surround games, its just a cheap lower latency format. Dolby Digital is superior, it has been on the market and leading it since the 80s. Its safe to say that Industry Standard is the way to go with these things. Dolby Atmos uses a Headphones virtual surround mix layer on-top of the Dolby Digital Mix layer and it adds weird distorsion and because the Logitech Z906 cannot speak in the Atmos language the speakers can be hurt and damaged over time.
Is the Z906 only able to connect via TV? Or will a 4K monitor I have that has no built in speakers work just fine? I currently just game on my PS5 with a 4k monitor and use headphones for audio
You can use the aux port on your Monitor, but it will be running 3D Matrix Stereo Mode. Still sounds really good, but its not the real surround signal from the game, its only running the normal headphones mix via the speakers giving you (fake surround) you will still get audio out of all 5 speakers and the subwoofer.

@@oliveralzua all apps including CZcams work with Dolby Digital Format (however) in this format normal youtube videos and content from other apps that wasn’t meant to run at 5.1 won’t, and will simply just run in 2.1 Stereo, but in a more lossy stereo then the Matrix 2.1 mode. So yes its real Dolby Digital or DTS if you choose to use this instead. On youtube there is a tick mark that has to be enabled on certain 5.1 compatible videos to enable surround mode, only works on 5.1 metadata videos. Very few videos actually support surround on CZcams so you will be listening to 2.1 most of the time sadly. Edit: It will send the raw surround or stereo signal via all speakers and send out the correct audio intervals at correct volume levels even when on the lowest setting. I have back Speakers and the center speaker on zero volume, just so that the audio that comes from them are true surround and not boosted surround effects to make them more noticeable. Its a balancing act in my opinion depenting on how far away the speakers are.

On my TV it decodes the audio into surround mode when I use the multichannel bypass mode on my designated HDMI port. If your still not getting surround mode (decode mode) then you gotta find a way to tell your tv to translate it into surround. It might be called HDMI CEC or Multichannel Bypass or both. Also make sure the PS5 is plugged in to the HDMI ARC port.

Hey Ik u made this video ages ago but for the DT 990 pros can I connect them to a mic like a fifine k688 and use the usb on that into the ps5. Because there is a volume wheel on the microphone so it can up the sound.
DT990 Pro has only 96db output of volume so the only way to get out that little extra volume is to buy a cheap DAC. Soundblaster G3 is what I use, it costs only $40 and it has built in EQ and everything. My tip is that you buy that one and transform your DT990 Pro into the ”Ultimate Gaming Headphones”. They sound great without it, but they can sound insane with it. Bass can be punchy and heavy and detail can be twice as noticable. You can get 9db more with a DAC and I have a famous community EQ that I made that I can give you for free with it 😇

@@caolan_toland6214 it will not be loud, but the volume will be great and soft and good. But might sound a little cheaper and flat without a DAC and a nice EQ. a DAC is a powerful little amplifier with an EQ built-in.

@@wolfmanjohn2823 Yes! There are more then atleast 5 in ports on the back of the Logitech system, use aux or optical it will work fine. To use true native surround mixes of audio in games and movies it has to be in dolby digital or dts surround format on console and pc and you need to use an optical cable for that.

I have an LG B1, similar to a C1. I can get a decoded 5.1 if I set the PS5 to Dolby Audio. I'm not sure if the TV or PS5 is decoding it to multichannel. Movie sounds OK, but Im not sure if I could get better quality by having encoded signal straight to the z906.
I just read somewhere now LG tvs do not passthru dts.. Am confused now as if I set ps5 to dolby I get emulated 5.1 at z906, if ps5 is set to DTS I get encoded 2.1 to the z906. Thanks for your videos BTW, got the z906 today because of the reviews. Nice THX speakers!

Use an Optical Cable, and try to get your pc into a mode were it decodes the all audio into Dolby Digital Format. Or use the multi lane cables that came in the box. I actually haven’t tried running the Z906 on a PC so I am mot completely sure how it would be done. But after plugging it in, make sure to select 5.1 surround on the audio mode in windows settings and it “should” be fine…
Hi, does this work with the C3 you were planning on buying? I bought the 42inch LG C3, delivery next week. I am thinking to buy the Z906 to work with this tv but I am concerned I won't be able to get 5.1 through the optical port. thank you

@@tomgunn6086 I haven’t had enough money to buy a C3 yet so am thinking of getting a C4 77” later in the summer if everything goes well with my eventual workplace. C4 and G4 do tend to drop in prices, the best would be to get a G4 because of the even brighter nits and great cooling solution to prevent aggressive ABL and burn-in. I really do want to push my OLED to the max and I’ll be making videos on best settings for C3 and C4 whenever I get my hands on one 🥰 I have actually no idea if there are any more “special settings on C3” my tv only has the settings shown in the video and that makes it work fine. I want to create a new updated settings video in the future but I have been gaming and working on other life projects in the meanwhile so its been insanely delayed 😂👏 Edit: it should be fine with the settings I have stated in the video, the xbox might need some tweaking ofcourse but PS5 and TV is just for you to copy my settings 😇

@@omerceritli if your Z906 system doesn’t turn on thats a big hardware issue and it has to be returned, but if its only the LED litht that doesnt respond on the on/off switch I’d say its fine, ”but not normal” id get mine replaced by the store if it was recently purchasef if I where you 💪❤️ If more LEDs do not work then maybe its getting to little power or the LEDs are faulty, should not happen but maybe not crazy if it did. Returning it to the store would be advicable. (Personally I have never heard about this issue being a thing on the forums i’ve been on, but then again… most people don’t speak alot about this unit.)

Yeah I am using Z906 system with B&W M1 satellite speakers.. the Z906 uses the standard black & red bare wire connections for speakers.. so you pretty much can upgrade to any speakers you want

@@EverythingPS5Pro Best to check first.. The B&away MT1 recommends amplifier power from 20W-100W The Logitech Z906 satellite speaker is running at 67W per Speaker… so no problem
@@meat_loves_wasabi untill you start to crank up the volume, if it reaches above 67W the built-in EQ and volume levels will collapse and the audio goes into a sorta loud / low volume mode, were crackling is common. Not good for the unit. I’ve checked out some other people trying this on the web, everyone states that it is NOT recommended.

you need hdmi audio extractor because this old repro does not have hdmi in. it need extract audio from hdmi to optical connector.
Get this and add 4 to 6 additional speakers and you will be in for a surprise

I dont understand why ps5 ditch optic connector.. that way you will not need this TV. Or use hdmi splitter..
Newer TVs have HDMI ARC support and so can steal the HDMI Surround mix from the console and transfer it via optical cable to your audio system 😎👍

Got it working on my tv, small issue now is playng DTS-HD MA 7.1 content only outputs as 2.1. Have you faced similar?

No! But there might be some cheap kinda bad bluetooth adapters on Google, however… I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF THOSE 👏

Depends on how old your tv is, and if it can just use your tv for proper processing, most actually won’t work, but some do.
