      it's the track it's not in the best condition anymore especially the braking area (there's literally pot holes lol) :( gotta remember too some these cars are knocking on the 6 sec barrier especially the white xw it's done 7.000 at like 220mph.

      @@andrewkirk701 hahahahahahaha yeah ok good luck getting him to spend any $ on calder lol don't imagine the place has long before the shutdown hammer comes down on it since the housing is getting super close now, back straight there's houses only about 100 150 meters away. needs to be rebuilt down the road a bit there's plenty of room out that way, at least just a drag strip and a drift track vic's got enough circuits lol

  • @7071t6
    @7071t6 Před 5 lety

    HUM drive all the way from melbourne to Swan Hill and then to mildura yet Ballarat has a 1/8 drag circuit as well, why not stop there and do the 1/8th as part of the challenge, maybe not much people are prepared to pay those big names to drive there for free and drag their cars, lol :)

    How long is Calder parks stopping area?

    • @5lcalais1
      @5lcalais1 Před 5 lety

      it'd be because of prep I'd say, plus it's not in the best condition anymore, braking area's plenty long enough they used to run top fuel back in the day. weird though cause there's cars running 8.0s on the quarter at the regular meets lol but some of these cars are knocking on 6 sec passes so i can understand why .

    I am just wondering if those cars which can run on a mixture of methanol are cheating meaning that the % of race fuels used compared to the E85 or 98 ron fuels used, do they check after each run or test the fuel before its going in the tank before each run, just a question, but i am sure there are people who are cheating the system ? At least some of my 1980's drag mates used to run aviation fuel mixed with super and then get a tunne which was done by Dandy engines way back in the 1980's? 50 Kw or close to 80 HP extra just because you have better bang for your buck. lol :)

    • @STREETMACHINETV

      There are no rules regarding fuel

    • @7071t6
      @7071t6 Před 5 lety

      @@STREETMACHINETV There you go, i thought as much, fair enough for those cars that engines are classified as methanol and injected suicide machines, like all those massive big block and massive supercharger drag engines you see, but those smaller LS and V8's with blowers or turbos cant basically run aviation fuel mixed with some 98 ron say 120 RON all up and even use racing fuels which can go upto 130 RON and you have a massive advantages compared to those who tuned the engines to run 98 or E85 etc. cheers :) maybe they needs to check the fuel before going in the tnak that way people are not cheating the real results based on the fuels and regulations for the fuels you can use and cant use under specific classifications with in ANDRA rules ?

    1000ft ? WTF Calder Park is a joke now. Not enough stopping distance for cars doing 200 plus mph? How the hell did the Top Fuelers and Funny Cars doing 335 mph manage to pull up then? Must've been back when CP used to be the best in Australia. Ahhh the mid 90s i remember it like it was yesterday when they'd get 80,000 or more in for big events like the Aussie Drag Racing Nationals the Guns and Roses concert had like 100,000 or more and what an epic night that was, plus remember the good ol "Thunderdome" the massive banked oval track where Nascar and the oddity that was "Auscar" would attract huge crowds out to Calder Park on the regular. But 1000ft limit due to lack of run off is a dead set joke. LOL the 8 times ive raced there (Street Meet) i've deliberately stayed in it for well past the finish line cos the run off was so vast! We had to drive all the way to the end of the straight to exit the track. Even after running 140mph ETs it took forever to get to the uturn point. There used to be heaps of track to slow up?

    • @STREETMACHINETV

    Im surprised that the 5-0 are not sitting out the front waiting the defect all the cars as they leave for the next track. or the Australian government has not set up some sort of task force to close it all down.
