      It can take years to develop cancers from dioxins- old men don't have to worry. Young people and women who can get pregnant are most at risk. Common mutation from dioxin toxicity is hermaphradotism.

    One thing being glazed over is the fact that after Ohio and the Feds lit this toxic nightmare on fire all those particles came back down in rain and snow over most of New York State, New England and our neighbors to the north in Canada. What goes up comes back down and they turned a local/regional toxic site into a multi state and international one.

      @@ThePalmnut2 LOL Yeah ask the people in East Palestine how helpful they have been. Yes just like Unions there WAS a time when the agencies might have been needed. But like ALL government agencies they seek more and more control, more and more regulations. Like the EPA, wanting to control ANY water a person has on their property. We should not be depending on the Federal gov anyway , States should be taking care of their business.
      Let me give you another example. Big Corp GETS to sale contaminated food, they can have , rat feces, animal hair, maggots, insect parts etc. in their food or drink. Food they sale US, But I with a clean kitchen , with NO bug or rodent problem, sterilizing all my equipment and following government requirements for home canning, can't sale my products.

    I wouldn't believe anything any of these alphabet agencies say. Just to see how things looked, I logged onto Snapchat's map to see what people there were posting and someone posted a video of men in hazmat suits near the tracks. This was about the same time EPA said that everything was safe. If it were safe, why then the need for hazmat suits?

    It's that this happened , they were going to treat the waste water here in Baltimore County a mile or so from my house, I think that the residents fought not to bring it here, in the end after our government said that it would not come here, but we are still getting it. As for living there, if I had children, I wouldn't . But at my age and knowing that a house is a hell of a lot better than living in this small camper, if somehow I was to get a deal, I would have no problem with moving there into an abandoned house, at my age and health issues a little chemical issue is not no big problem

      Yep this is exactly what happens when it's captured by the private sector, which caused this accident through deregulation, malpractice, cost cutting, and bad PR in the first place. Ironically, the EPA is the only ones actually taking steps to remedy the situation in the end despite it all. Ronnie hated the EPA. Don't be a sore winner.

      The same Reagan who pushed "trickle-down economics" which destroyed small business diversity and paved way for mega corporations quasi monopolizing entire sectors to eventually milk Joe and Jane Average. The deregulated and subsequently desolate state of US railways can also be traced back to this sort of policy making. 😉

    You can simply put a sub pump in those creeks and pump that water out into a treatment facility or a storage tank until you can treat it. I don’t understand why nobody’s doing anything.

  • @Ganiscol
    @Ganiscol Před 2 měsíci

    It depends on the proximity to the site. If your main concern is drinking water, you could have your own analysis made in a reputable lab and find neighbors who would pick up a share of the cost if you were to do it on a monthly or quarterly basis. Same can be done for the soil around your property once if you're not really close to the site. It only becomes really problematic when you have kids, because kids play everywhere outside and especially so near small creeks and you just cant keep them on a leash and its quite obvious that this creek is a longterm problem even if water quality normalizes, toxins seep into the creek bed and may get stirred up again for a number of reasons - if its a major river, this issue would not persist very long due to high flow of water.
    But if you prefer to just distrust without knowing, you gotta move elsewhere and hope that place hasn't been polluted previously. Undisclosed toxic contamination from a long time ago is a widespread issue in the US. Heck, people build their houses on top of 150 year old mines because nobody bothered to tell them and then get a surprise sinkhole in their living room - the devil-may-care attitude is a thing on the local government level too.

      Hard to believe, but yes--- one failed bearing can,and DID do this. Now---- wrap your mind around the FACT that these big RR's have cut the number of men who check/ repair things like this, and have cut down the ALLOWED TIME to inspect a railcar--- because they can make MORE MONEY. ALSO--- they went from a 4 man crew, to just 2, and keep talking about going to 1 man-- the engineer-- only.
