Getting there mate. Do yourself a favour, leave the "hats" off the top of the coil tower & drill an 8mm hole in the bowl right next to the outer edge of the bump stops. That way you can wash crap out instead of it collecting & causing rust. The 8mm hole will allow water to drain.

Hey Tyler , I ripped my guard trims off on a sand dune and I've put Black 100mm garden edging in it's place and gives more clearance!

This build is turning into a chain reaction lol, alter one thing and it then forces another part to get changed, which then changes another thing to get altered...lol...lm sure you'll be forever doing stuff to this build lol....l bet two months down the track we're gonna be asking...are we there yet! Hahahaha loving the detail, very thorough Tyler. It's amazing how much work goes into a rebuild not to mention the cost!

I hate raptor, but if I’m honest I’m surprised how the predator came out, nice and glossy with what seems a smoother finish. Great video as always mate. What a legend this mechanic is, hope he’s hiring, needa give him a call!! Lol.

Interested to see what the weight is after this work. GQs have very little payload, after I fitted a 3" superior lift, 35" rubber, I was at GVM with just a draw and fridge slide...
Add a front and rear bar, with roof top tent, it's at 3t...

Nice I would have gone 4.1 or 3.9 ratio .63 reduction and put a turbo on for early spool and got low highway revs best of both world's it puts a bit of strain on hubs and cvs but you will probably up grade them anyway. I also would have run a h260 rear if I had to buy lockers and diffs from scratch even if I had to settle for a converted drum brake

Looking at those mods Tyler, I dont really think your dad will ever go with you on your adventures. Put simply, his MUX cant hack it.😁😁😁

Shock's are the 6 inch ones, springs were 4 & 3 but I've since changed them to Dobinson Flexi's (next episode)

nice video and good level of preparation! where did you get the front pull and drop box? you're pulling the upper rear why are they bent? in France we have some shop to do our preparation, but we don't have everything you have
All the gear is from Superior Engineering and I got the bent upper rear upper control arm so I can fit a long range fuel tank in there one day
@@TylerThompson90 nice project in any case, you're lucky because in France we don't have all this variety of equipment. for my part I am looking for information for the preparation of a patrol y60 short if you have contacts to give me, it is especially for the rear transmission there is too much angle and the braces are only 1000 km ... good luck for the rest of the preparation
Are you considering to chop it in to a dual cab ute?
Looking good, any reason why your not using dust boots on the shocks? as road debris/stones will eventually damage/chip the chrome hardening on the shafts and will destroy the wiper seal, which will result in leaking shocks.
Didn't use them on the GU either, superior still give warranty on the shocks whether you have them on or off. I think they are kinda ugly and if you do get stuff in the boots it can't get out and then just smooshes around in there and destroys the shaft anyway

Dude you forgot the most important upgrade for your Patrol, to make it much more capable & reliable!
Exhaust will get done with the turbo in a few weeks

Hey mate, it looks like your front swaybar links are too short and theyll limit proper travel. I took mine back into superior and they gave me longer ones for free as the kit had a mistake. They should sit almost flat alongside the radious arm for proper angle

Because superior base their products around 'bolt in' kits where possible. And they seem quite keen to 'sponsor' the youtube world. There are much better options and possibilities out there if you are willing to get the welder out.
The other problem with raising the shock mounts is you can't really lift the upper mounts in a wagon so you need to really limit up travel or lose down travel by running a shorter shock.

Talked about doing the long arm rear's but didn't end up happening and was keen to try the hyper flex kit. May change some things around in the future. Got a big trip to Tassie coming up in it soon so just trying to get it all together for that
