If a Christian is living the example of Christ’s teachings, their relationship to others certainly welcomes discussion. I can’t speak for what another believer understands as they grow in their understanding and practice of Christ’s teachings. Choosing to be a Christian like choosing other faiths including agnosticism or atheism is a continuous process. The Bible aptly describes it as building “line upon line, precept upon precept”. Many would certainly find other denominations different and would want to affiliate with others more similarly situated however, unless a person is still living in fear instead of comprehending fully the acceptance and love of the Lord for every person, they may think others are not true believers and on this particular point, their thinking could be incorrect. We humans are all flawed in our faith and other beliefs about one another and can’t possibly fully comprehend Jesus, whether or not we believe in Christianity. We’re all learning and screwing things up along the way. Jesus teaches trust, love, peace and hope and finally “do not judge, lest you should be judged”. Every person is on their own path. Christ did not react in fear. His example of Love “casts out fear”.
As an agnostic, it is a huge affront to ME, that they believe, that their religion supercedes everything and every1 else, and that the rest of us must be oppressed so as not to offend them.

Trans Day of Visibility is more than a day of solidarity and acceptance. It’s the day we highlight the joy and happiness in our lives.
So much of the trans experience, both publicly and privately, is about the harm inflicted on us and about those of us who aren’t in this world anymore. We need a day to celebrate and remember that we are here and that our lives can be joyful. I find it even more ironic and hateful that it was that day the right chose to try to taint for us.

Separation of church and state is, to me, a foundational principle that cannot be argued with in a modern-day state. It is an iron-glad principle that benefits all citizens. Of course, that also includes the idea that people are free to practice their own religion personally, which is equally important. Where I live, government is as secular as it can be, and this is great. In theory, according to the foundational principles of the US, this should be the case there as well, but in practice, this principle is not upheld strongly enough in my opinion. I also find it alarming that a non-insubstantial amount of people in the US do not agree with this principle. I think it shows a fundamental lack of understanding of why such a principle is put in place to begin with.
I'm not a hardcore atheist but I do believe that something as sacred as a personal belief should not be soiled by politics.
