This is the undeniably distinct Green Day sound we have been missing for over a decade now. 🖤
Eh, it kinda fits the American Idiot and 21CB era, but it's way too distinct from everything pre-Warning (which, lets be honest, there's plenty of fans that prefer the OLD-old school Green Day sound - hell some only like 39 Smooth and Kerplunk.)

@MarcioNovelli, I agree. although I think it largely resembles a lot of work from Revolution Radio, which I loved and thought was a great album! This single is a good sign that we have a good album coming our way :)
@@Achievius It breaks my heart how overlooked Revrad is. It doesn't have the best mixing, volumes or production, but the songs themselves are top notch. Bang Bang is pure fire and Somewhere/Forever Now scratch that 21cb itch and may be some of my favorite Green Day songs period.

This song is so good, and its awesome live! The boys were fantastic in this.
The mix are much better here than on the Twitch stream.
The live stream was probably a direct stream from FOH or aux feed of some kind, this seems like an actual fully mixed multitrack with proper post-processing and EQing.

Glad we didn't have to wait long to hear it live! I'm forever impressed how similar Billie Joe sounds on a recording and live. Little differences here and there, but sounds dope.

I think those differences might have to do with how poor the mixing was on the twitch stream originally.
They go out of their way to make sure the recordings and live sound are as seemless as possible. This (I'm sure) involves recording their music in a way that can be replicated live. When they are live, they are doing their best to mimic the integrity of the sound of their recording.

I dont know for how long ive been a HUGE fan of Green Day and still surprises me the energy and how damn great they sound live. Lucky I was to watch them live on their prime in 2004

Agreed! There was obviously some unintended mix-hassle at the beginning of the stream. It got much better throughout the show! A good reminder of how crucially important it is to have a good start to things in life, concerts included, haha!

It was so absolutely trash. They fixed it song by song until the last song was perfect. J got to see them at the secret show the Thursday before and it was the best show of my life, I really hope Amazons streaming mix wasn't what the PA system got for whatever venue this was 😂 they got screwed if so

@@tokiyakillsinsight160Green day first started posting clips for what eventually became saviors back in late December of 2021, so the wait has been long for this new album and then everything got quiet for months people speculation the album was gonna be another lost treasure like cigarettes and valentine's thank god this ones finally coming and all the clips from the studio made the record 15 tracks the complete opposite of father of all
