@derhueter Indeed. The more I learn about _Shark Tank,_ the more I realize what a rotten deal it is for entrepreneurs. Many of them end up losing money, and in the worst cases, their entire business. The sharks only care about making money for themselves.
I just searched "I want to draw a cat for you", it's $25 per drawing and the first date available in his calendar is 9 months from now. All of the days in between are booked. WHAT?

1:26 to 1:36 I really like his response to that question, because he very right. There really is an economy for dumb things, people would genuinely go out of their way to buy in dumb things. Biggest example is the whole "pet rock" thing. And he simply wants to take advantage of that economy, to make a profit of some kind. And he really owns up to and embraces this idea. I really like that, and respect that a lot. He really is actually genius in this regard.

The thing I love about Liftid is that one of those sessions in an actual lab is like, 10 grand. They just took the engine from a PS controller rumble pack, put it in a strap and spent the rest of the time coming up with copy.

“draw a cat” guy has so much more potential than just drawing a cat a day for 25 dollars: postcards, merch (t-shirts, bags, bumper stickers, posters, mugs and so on), artist books, comics, own cartoons, colouring books for adults, collaborations with huge brands (from clothing brands to magazine covers with his design) and even his own cat cafe, with a huge mural of a cat fighting with octopus and baristas who draw on paper cups.
I think it’s just supposed to be an authentic thing considering he only works by himself and that workload would be too much for one person and would also lose some authenticity if he was forced to hire additional workers
In this video, you need to remove "I want to draw a cat for you" (it was weird but successful) and in its place put Sullivan Generator (it was weird and never took off). If you recall, that was the theoretical machine that could extract gold out of ocean water.

His company is now worth $30 million and has shown about ~$5 million in growth each year for the last 5 years. I can't blame them for not investing because Ken was insufferable here, but if they had, they would have turned their $200k into at least $3 million even if they did absolutely nothing to help them beyond investing. I doubt any of them would have a problem with a 15,000% return on their investment.
The first investment made me realised why Mark is the one who made the least money from Shark tank.
He's got so much, he gives like this nothing. Kevin, Barbara and Lori are picky and choose businesses that work with their skills.
