I feel like the only one who thinks the city of Rexburg might benefit from having a siren like this. Not all people have the money to buy smartphones, and you never know what the weather might actually do in Idaho.
Actually this siren was paid by girl scouts after part of the town got destroyed by a tornado. They didn't had any siren before that one. Also FS made a 50% discount for the occasion, you can easily found the news report speaking of that here on CZcams.

2001's have 12-port choppers, and are high pitched like in the video, and Equinox's have 8-port choppers and are lower pitched, sounds like a t-128 or 508.
Amazing deed that Girl Scout did. Not the best choice but hey! Better than nothing and you can't complain over someone that truly wants to protect their community. But yes the 2001 is a good start because they're cheap.
2001s suck because they replaced thunderbolts and allertors at my town EDIT I take that back 2001s are very reliable sirens but most people hate them because they replace older sirens and because of their high pitch but I don't mind it.

+Fifthcell because the 2001 is still in production and costs less to repair if necessary. A 1000T on a town that already had to save up to buy a siren would be a liability.
+SPCeasfan200 I see what Startug is talking about though, since this siren is currently still in production, the parts for a repair will be much cheaper than ones for an old discontinued siren. Not to mention that P50s and Thunderbolts don't have the battery backup ability...
And don't get me wrong, I like the Thunderbolt and P-50, but on the city itself, it'd be a heavier liability to own outdated sirens without backup or repairmen. Anyway, the 2001 at this time is a pretty efficient siren.
i actually don't hear about the breaking down of these sirens that frequently, not to mention that the 2001-130s appear to be holding up really well. I can see why an older 2001 would break down - it's OLD.
+Startug The older 2001s used indestructible Warfield motors. The only real problem with 2001s are the 1st generation battery cabinets which were prone to corrosion and leaking. However that's no longer an issue now that they use aluminum cabinets.
