- Classic VHS 1980's windsurf video - First part is the Pan Am Cup which was the premier windsurf event of its time. Second Part is Robby Naish wave jumping at Diamond head with Karl Messmer on early prototypes of Mistral take off. Last Part is taken at the North Shore with Robby on proto Mistral Take off. Other Sailors are Cort Larned i think (blue and yellow sail), Ken Winner (all yellow sail and board) and Malte Simmer on first fat head sails with yellow swallow tail board.
I truely loved this video and watched it religiously, just loved the music by Michel Stelio. Many Thanks to Jean-Luc Breitenstein for his wonderful creation to capture these great days. Thanks to Robby for showing us how to sail!
If you like the Music as much as i do the tracks are as follows:
Track 1 is "Early Morning" by Michel Stelio and i think is sung by Tina Provenzano.
Track 2 is "Hot Blood" by Michel Stelio and sung by Jan Loseth and Tina Provenzano.
Thanks to youtube user Jacalleja for help with Music Investigation. - Sport
Amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Great actions and good old days. Nostagia .... Ciao
Great times. Robbie, what a guy US1111👍🤜

Thanks JLB... This video changed everything for me! I watched it so much when i was young. Yes lots of good memories.Loved the Music so much as well! Me and my friend jacalleja have been searching for the Music everywhere. Finally 30 years later we have found the second Music track in France called "Hot Blood" by Jan Loseth and Tina Provenzano. I have bought the record second hand - its great!

MI MANUAL DE VIVIR ESTE VIDEO
SuperJh88, One of my first windsurf videos as well !! It was the best around in its day!
Yes i sang that song with Jan Loseth jan and tina provenzano HOT BLOOD
The music is truly beautiful and touching. Thank you for that lovely singing!
Thanks for this moments SOOO GREAT!!!
awesome, Robby is the greatest.
Its true, board weights were considered light if you got below 15KG's. Most consumer boards were > 20KG's. In the video the boards Robby sails at the north shore with the pin head sail was a mistral take off prototype. The production board was around 13 to 15KG's.
The original music by Michel Stelio from the film is not available anywhere.
There is a only different version called "Hot Blood" sung by Jan and Tina
Provenzano.
I have this single on vinyl but its not the same as the film.
Its a real shame because i love the music too!
Windsurfing was more fun back then :)
Da best
Para mi Robby Naish no es un ídolo, sino una referencia para aquellos que entienden de windsurf y que llevan en el deporte más de 30 años sean campeones o no.
Interesting this was right at the moment Windsurfing Exploded into the masses. Notice all the rigs have uphauls. Right after this was when people started riding boards that you had to water start.
fascinating!
I can't find the "at the time" famous movies called HAWAI 83 and HAWAI 84, shot by a french team during the golden era. Every summer, they organised massive screenings under huge tents during a 2 months beach tour, was great. Do someone know/own these movies? Would be great to see them again.
if people would know the weight of one of those boards they only then would understand the true epicness of the actions!
I'v been looking for that record. Would you know where to buy/ download it?
what´s the name of the 1st song??? thanks
Sang another song DAYBREAK written by Michel Stellio cant finfd it anywher
Eduardo Punset
At 2"12", we can see a rider with a mustache wearing a white harness talking to Robby Naish ; I remember the guy was German, but I can't remember his name (he's not Jürgen Honscheid !).
Anyone knows his name ?
Something like Schumacher I guess, but not sure.
Could be Philip Pudenz, last 3 letters of last name visible at 2:12, HG
Yeah, that´s Philip Pudenz !
@@hansh.gruendel7877 Yes, I remember now, Philip Pudenz, you're right ! Thanks ! Mahalo 🤙
Hi guys, does anybody recall the title of a German windsurf movie made probably in the middle of the 80's, with R. Naish, P. Cabrinha and Kutte Priessner of SURF Magazine; the movie contains a memorable scene of race between Audi Quattro riding the beach and Pete Cabrinha sailing in paralllel to the shore; movie ends with narrator's call: "don't forget - keep on surfing!".
