The RS660 is one of the best in the class and a gorgeous bike too. It might be a simple fix getting the quickshift/auto blipper sorted, but you may have to seek advice and/or help from an Aprilia dealer

I did manage to fix that in this video

The RS660 inspired me aged 40 to finally complete my motorcycle licence in 2021.
    I ended up buying a 2019 CB650R. (Sensible choice)
I'm just too scared to commit to buying one. The reputation has completely ruined the idea of owning one.

I do baby this more than my previous Japanese bikes.
I've learnt about all the weak points.
I've re-torqued all the bolts and fixings and have tie-wired the oil pressure relief valve.
      Fingers crossed 🤞
Plenty of guys that have run 20k miles and more without issue 👍
But I do agree, the Honda is a safe bet, especially if you are new to riding!

Hello mate! I want to buy an Aprilia RS660 with 10k KMS the owner it’s saying he had an recall for something about the valves idk, and no problem since then, what do u think? Any problems with 2021 i should avoid it?

    • @UpsideDownFork
      @UpsideDownFork  Před měsícem

The owners group seem to think that only a very small handful of 2021 bikes were affected by quality control issues. Can't remember the date range but I know my bike is a good 6 months after some issues were resolved at the factory.
I've been riding mine nearly every day and no issues yet and the owners group is full of people who have done loads of miles without problem.

@@RORider18 I think 07.2021 is well beyond the early batch of bad bikes.

@@kavanobrien6547 ACF50 is a commonly used product in the motorcycle world. There are newer and better products out there now like XCP rust blocker.
Vespa's are good but you pay a premium for the badge. Other brands that are just as established and well built, like Peugeot and others are available for much less money and just as good (better in some areas).

@@UpsideDownFork Funny looked today at the Peugeot scooter after your video you sent me, saw one for £1,000 = 2016 with 3,500 miles and three owners seems strange with little miles having had three owners, just might be me being far too sceptical, as said never ridden a motorcycle or scooter before , are they expensive to insure and are the helmets expensive , I did like the windshield thing on your wives bike, can they fit on all the models , sorry you must be getting fed up with me not knowing very much.

@@kavanobrien6547 There are always people who like the dream of riding a scooter around but find that their expectations don't meet reality. So they ride it a few times and sell it on.
Good helmets start from £100 upwards and these days the choice is extremely vast. J&S or an equivalent motorcycle clothing shop is the place to go to try a few on and find what you like.
Yes, there are small and large windscreens and they can be fitted to all scooters.
Insurance is very cheap, even for a new rider. With a couple of years NCB it will be well under £100 for fully comp insurance on something like this.
      100mpg+ is easily achievable.
