Great video. I did the "budget" intake mod. CTS turbo inlet. Silicone hose upgrade to stock airbox, KnN performance stock filter and snow catch removed. It was working just fine until a few months ago. Now I have "ESC" code and check light. Not having the secondary air filter installed could this be the problem?
Hey you should get the codes checked to make sure. Does it say esc or EPC? Hope it’s not EPC as this is likely a turbo wastegate problem. The codes will tell you what you should do.
Hey man you need the adapter piece between the filter and sai hose. You can possibly rig something that will work but I’d rather install the right part.
Hard to say without seeing them again but if I remember right I didn’t use the rubber o ring and the rubber round thing goes around the metal piece to told it in place underneath the air box
Something like this is needed when installing an aftermarket intake on some MK7s. This ensures the pipe doesn’t simply stay open and disconnected possibly throwing off a sensor.
Thanks for posting this! As you said, I was in the midst of installing my new intake and had no idea what to do with that SAI!

So you need to buy that mounting piece for it to fit on the hose? Like I couldn’t go to an auto store and just buy an off the shelf SAI?

Where does the rubber o ring go and the big rubber round thing? I got mine today and it’s like putting a Lego set together

Not having a filter on it probably throws a CEL right?
Likely over time but not right away.
So where would this filter go on a Audi s3 8v and remember I’m in the uk 🇬🇧
Likely in the same spot even if the steering is on the other side. You may not need it. My R did not need it but the GTI did.
what did u do with the vacuum line that cane out of the stock air box
That goes to the unitronic silicon elbow you just don’t see it as it connects underneath.
Will this be okay for a vw cc sport 2012 with a CTS turbo air intake system (mk5/mk6 tsi )
Not sure sorry I’ve only worked on mk7s in recent years I’m not sure how this applies to older generations.
Installed on the wrong gromet
How do I take this hose off I’ve been trying for 20 min
Squeeze on each side and pull
With your hands, mooncricket
What does it do
