  • Learn how to make your own Rosemary Smudge Stick. You can use smudge sticks to clear your space energetically. The most common type of smudge sticks are sage, but we grow lavender and rosemary in our garden. I speak softly in this video and I hope this video helps you to relax and unwind. I found that creating these bundles felt very peaceful and relaxing to work with natural elements. The smell of the lavender and rosemary is incredible. I love making things with my hands & I love to gift these holidays, but they also make excellent year round gifts. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Hilary, thank you for sharing ❤. What kind of string did you use to wrap the bundle? I think I heard you say cotton?

      Hi- I use natural cotton twine that was left over from my indigo dye practice- that is why it is partially blue:) I will update the description with a link!

    Do you have to let the rosemary dry though??

    • @hilarylhahn1089
      @hilarylhahn1089  Před 3 měsíci

      I did it when it was fresh which made it easier to wrap...then let the bundles naturally dry out.

      Yes! I used it fresh:) I have an huge overgrown rosemary bush. It dries out nicely and then can be burned.

      Thank you, Jill! I would say a couple of weeks for sure- in the meantime it smells great. Lately, I've found it can also be used to decorate a gift with ribbon.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Such an important practice to produce smudging bundles that do NOT use White Sage that grows in such a small geographic area and is mercilessly poached from First Americans' Lands when the White Sage is SUCH an important part of their culture and ancestral community. czcams.com/video/jhgHt4gPN7Y/video.html Here's a movie about the sad state of affairs regarding poaching sage in southern California. Please watch the video link I included, and relax, relax,, relax in the realization, that Hilary L. Hahn's rosemary and lavender smudge sticks are sustainable and not destructive to native cultures and native lands! Thanks!

      Hi Paulette, Yes! It is important to be mindful about this! I wonder if people might also grow their own sage as well. We grow ours but for cooking! Rosemary and lavender as you have seen- work well.
