I'm sorry, where are all of these cops in San Leandro that are supposedly hanging around coffee shops having conversations and building "friendships" with people? You guys stay in your vehicles the entire time you're on shift and don't come out unless you're responding to a call. You don't walk your beats. You don't visit neighborhoods to get to know the people who live there. And when you do interact with the community, half of you act like you've got somewhere better to be and have major attitude problems. You don't do community events. You do Coffee or Pizza with the Cops MAYBE once or twice a year, National Night Out, and like a random toy drive or something during the holidays. Otherwise, you're not out here engaging with the people unless they just got mugged or assaulted, and even then it'll probably be six hours later, a few fast questions when you show up, and then you bounce. Most of you don't even live in the city. So idk who you're trying to fool with the "we're building friendships" act, but it's not working. At least the bike cops rolled around downtown getting to know people.
