- Nevada is a underrated state! You don’t hear much about the state except a few areas …. But then you get to a certain area and are just BLOWN AWAY BY INCREDIBLE BEAUTY!!
This is the case with Valley of Fire State Park.
If you have been following our Journey, you know that it is extremely rare to see us camping in a paid campground!! Arch Rock campground was so incredible that we had to stay! In fact the entire state park is a must see!! We would caution that you research your time of visit because it can get EXTREMELY hot in the area of Nevada.

Roodle had a great time! At one point I had his leash attached to my belt loop and a Bighorn sheep ran past. He broke my belt loop and ran after it. Thankfully he came back when I called him. 🐕😂

Hi Candie! We had a great time at this park and will never forget this one! Thank you for your prayers. Carrie’s mom is doing better and is back at her place. She has many supporting friends checking on her nearly daily. We are trying to convince her to do the monthly recommended treatments but at the same time we want to respect her choices.

Yes, that is the question! 😂 On one of the trails I had Roodle attached to my belt loop on a leash when a bighorn sheep ran in front of me. Roodle charged after it breaking my loop! 🐏 Thankfully, he returned to me when I called his name. The bighorn sheep was out of there.

Made the visit in 2018. Really enjoyed hiking the park and red rock canyons. There are petroglyphs on some of the walls. Your videos are exactly as I remember. Thanks for sharing..........

I’ve visited places and had experiences like that. When you go back for a repeat sometimes you realize it was a one time gift. God speaks in anyway we will listen, but not often the same way twice. He’s wild and unpredictable like that.
I would be afraid of getting lost in those canyons
They had the trails marked pretty well but that is a big concern as the temperature heats up.

Great video as always. $30 senior citizen annual pass and can get it by mail. I like the GPS coordinates of where you camped but easy enough to find the park on google maps.

Gorgeous!! I live in AZ and V of F is on my bucket list this fall. Be vigilant while meandering through slot canyons when the skies look like rain. Many hikers have been swept away and drowned.

Sure enjoy following you along on your journey and I've added some must see places to my bucket list. Over the years I've been disappointed in that many of the National parks and Monuments won't let dogs even walk on the trails or leave a person's campsite and of course I travel with my dogs everywhere so finding primitive sites is very important. But there are places I'd like to see where the pooches aren't welcome. I'm so glad you have Roodle with you, that gives me lots of options for places to visit and camp where my well behaved dogs can enjoy the journey also. Mucho gracias for sharing with all of us.
We wouldn't want to do this without our dog either. 😀🐕🎾❤️ We might at some time try a dog sitter if we both want to visit a National park bad enough. It's just the National Parks are so crowded and we hate to leave Roodle with a stranger.

It was truly magical! We caught it on a perfect day with a great mix of clouds and sun. We also have a thing for desert rocks! I will have to google the desert rocks of Ethiopia.
We are loving our new battery set up! We are still trying to determine if we need to add more solar to the roof now. With gas prices up we are trying to drive less and that means less charge from the alternator. We only have 200 watts on the roof now. Our portable 100-watt panel no longer works so time will tell. 😎

Hi Babs! That was February 23rd. We were there during an unusual cold spell. The daytime temps were from 40 to ’60s and the nights were as low as 30. Those steaks were awesome! What a treat. We had such a great time here. 😀😀🐕🎾❤️

It’s amazing how the rocks get the swirling effect like that. That’s cool. Definitely would be a winter trip, it gets hot in the summer. I’d surely try to stay in the campground a few nights. Great video 👍🏼
That swirl effect in the rock reminded us of the Wave! Yes! No way I could survive the summer heat here either. They did a Star Trek episode here and I can see why. 😎

What an amazingly beautiful place. I was thinking, as someone commented, that parts of it reminded me of the Wave, which I have only seen so far in your video. Another two places for my list! The still shots near the end were just beautiful. It will be difficult to pick just one or two for you next calendar.
