actually kind of a cool story for belegar, with him doing a tactical retreat from the mountains, occupying a pirate lair to feed his army and all
The extra 10% upkeep is on top of the 50% from not having the Eight Peaks. Its because the grudge meter is full.
AlexanderHL thats why i bumrushed k8p. I did it with a guide on reddit on turn 14.
Link a brother up? I've seen some posts but all before they reworked the level requirements for the regiments of renown.
AlexanderHL I gotchu fam www.reddit.com/r/totalwar/comments/aw258m/karak_8_peaks_turn_14_very_hard/? follow the steps exactly
AlexanderHL Also once u have K8P holding it is not easy lol. Grimgor will swarm you with stacks after stacks with just like 1 turn between them. What I did was rush the garisson building. If Karak Azor is still alive try to ally with them they will cover your ass so you can focus on the left and upper fronts. When you built up a serious army I would try to get Valayas sorrow ASAP. This is on legendary and its working for me Im preparing to siege Black Crag now to stop Grimgor he is so annoying and churns out stacks faster than bangladesh kids making t shirts.
Ah cheers ma man.
I really feel like the army loss penalty tends to ruin good last stands, your guys had excellent morale and then *POOF* time to run!
and they dont even have anywhere to run to... should at least fight to end instead of letting themselves just get killed
In situations like this it's a bit sour, definitely, but when you face fifteen Chaos horse skirmishers you'll consider it a godsend, it's really there to keep bullshit in check
Should have the fight to the death mechanic from shogun 2 on some races.
@@COMMANDandConquer199 Well, it is very annoying when you are the one attacking, and completely unrealistic when there's barely a man left.
Edit: There's plenty of middle ground though.
@@prototype6706 Then it should only apply to the computer factions and not the player.
I like how he wasn't willing to turn the timer down.
He's the fucking high priest of cheese, but even *he's* got a point where it's too cheesy.
You repaired the harbor, remember that should allow for some overseas trade agreements.
At 12:13 when he clicks Fight Battle it reminds me exactly why I love this channel. Even at overwhelming odds, he still plays through the battle. Another great video dude!
"There is no dishonor in winning, men. So do it anyway you can!"
The Slayers see that title and go: "...Well can I do both?"
yes
"Didn't really lose many units" as he runs a massive clump of infantry at a bloated corpse
Why does everyone always seem confused that someone got into a tricky situation in this game? Not everyone has a load of hours to pump into it and know the best tactics for the campaign map and on the battlefield. One crappy move on the campaign map can get your entire army wiped and if you're not the best at the game it can spiral out of control. It's actually pretty easy to screw up on Legendary if you're not that experienced with the game/race.
shouldn't you try to get acquainted with the race untill you're ready for it? Like i have only 6 hours in TW2 and TW1 something like 60 hours, but still it's kind of a given?
@@explosivedonuts3764 No, you get to do what you fancy, that's why it's called entertainment.
@@explosivedonuts3764 He's playing a (single player) video game, not training for a marathon. It's not that serious.
On the other hand, though. If you're not that acquainted with the game/race, Legendary difficulty probably isn't for you.
@@explosivedonuts3764 i partially think ppl fuck these campaigns on purpose to send them in lol. but yeah i agree if your trying to hop into legendary difficulty without even knowing the faction then thats dumb.
Love your vids man. Hope you continue these “save your disaster” campaigns. I’m a shit total war player so I’m learning a lot from you.
F
lo
Now probably one of the best parts of the channel. Although he’s been REALLY stuck on warhammer.
More reason why Creative Assembly needs to rework their sieges for warhammer total war 3 especially for dwarf karaks. Any Dwarf Karak worth their beard needs to be down nigh untakeable in conventional assault meaning to take them you have to rely on alternative passage ways
^This. Garbage sieges. What a shame.
Nah AI would just get rekt and there would be no real challenge. I say bring back last stand from Shogun 2. Not for all units, and not for every battle. But Iron breakers defending Capitol would definitely fight til last dwarf....
I love that "Save the campaign" Series.
Might be of interest to you, high explosive shockwaves travel much better in water than air (irl), and can kill and injure at much greater ranges underwater (see depth charges)
You can in fact put ladders on both sides of the wall (at 54:48 ) you just have to play with the mouse and find that tiny spot right next to the tip. (FYI its a small space on the left side of the point for the right side ladders)
I've been looking forward to you trying out Clan Angrund eventually
Best one in recent weeks so far. Loving it. Looking forward to episode 2 😁
That was a fun one. The mad dash to safety while keeping an army together.
Angrund campaign. Recruit to your force limit (economically). Rush to Karak-Azul. Conquer their home province then prepare to sack some greenskins settlements until you have a good amount of gold reserves. Then siege K8P with 40 rangers. If you stay in your home province you lose. You can't afford +50% unit upkeep it's simple. If you have the opportunity to sneak Black Crag instead of Karak-Azul you do it.
l love the SYDC series by the way, keep up the good work!
I'm only ten minutes in, but I sure am excited about the upcoming siege battle. You get two units of Ironbreakers from that semi-unique mine thing. And on walls, these are the best possible things to have. Unless the gobbos brought whaagh Giants or Arachnaroks or something, you might actually make it... Angrund is actually my favorite campaign, it's not a ten hour video series, it's the latest patch; getting ready for this. Ok, unpause. VENGEANCE!
Edit: Hmm. That was sad. Army losses penalty sucked, those Ironbreakers could've held on a hell of a lot longer. I guess that's why I stick to Hard mode. Good show, regardless.
Edit again: Wow. I kind of assumed Sartosa would become your capital after losing the initial one, so you could at least trade by sea route.
Also []but still the second edit]; I kind of feel for the player who sent this in. Turn forty, a level 30 Legendary Lord and a grand total of three settlements, about to be two. He's been fighting off enemies constantly. until this point, only to arrive at this situation.
16:49 the whole battle is like the siege of Minas-Tirith
As always a great vid
Edit: wow it must’ve been very difficult to get to that position
This 1:30 hr video has been out for like 1 min and you already say that :D (but you are right).
I really like SYDC. Keep it up Legend
Legend laments over not being able to get any trade agreements. Skips over the fact that his only port is in ruins. Then he demolishes his trade goods building AND repairs his trade port.
Personal I would have tried to defend the walls with melee units and then hold the gates with the ranged units + miners. The main reason is that you where afraid of the ranged attacks. The AI has a funny bug where ranged units start climbing the wall if they are 2 close to get decent shots. That and the walls would have blocked alot of shots with the towers attacking the archers.
@ 1:11:42 It's over Anakin, I have the high ground!
From my point of view the High Ground are evil!
Why is there so many greenskins? I've never encountered that many stacks when I played as Clan Angrund...
Seems like he sat there trying to build up his home province rather than expanding and pushing back the greentide.
This is what you get for trying to play tall in the latest TW games
He's on Turn 47 without expansion whatsoever. I'd imagine that's what went wrong.
I have, but not as angard but as the main dwarf faction...
Its my save. Its because of constant attack.. Simple as that. If I went on adventure somewhere I would get hit. I got under attack by 1-3 stacks, beat them and by the time I recovered there would be a new wave to beat. On and on. Attacks from Sartosa too. Involvment of bloody handz tipped the scale even worse. Each of the GS stacks pretty much has a waagh
Its true that priorities could be better, hence why its a disaster^^
@LegendofTotalWar - sorry if you've heard this before, but do you know about enabling V-Sync in your graphics options? it will smooth out the screen tearing you're experiencing.
being in water makes explosions way more powerfull
Every inch of that city square cost Skarsnik hundreds of goblins
"prestige doesn't pay the fucking bills" *instant subscribe*
I love your shit so much.. i watch during my turn passes for mortal empire.
Well.. you have to take out Skarsnik ASAP and then rush for K8P. Managed it by turn 32. Then get the surrounding province, attack Karak Azul, take couple of their regions, confederate the rest. I even managed to hold Karak Izor although it was under a constant siege under everyone including Noctilus and Aranessa for like 50 turns before I was able to get back with Belegar and save the day :) Epic.
- Whom do we fight?
- VC
- Vampire Counts or Vampire Coast?
- YES.
if LEGEND says you're in a hopeless position, you know you're in a bad position.
0:08 oh cool I just did a Clan Angrund campaign on normal. Took a little save scumming, but I managed to get 8 peaks. i now consider it done except for getting quests.
Keep it up can you do a video on beat features in newer total wars like Garrisons or any others you like?
It's over Pirates of Sartosa, I have the high ground!
Hans A. Morgenstierne don’t make me shoot inaccurately at you!
I have a feeling in 10 or so more saving your disaster campaigns, Legend is going to be given a campaign with 1 troop and he'll be like, "I think I can do this."
Already had that campaign. Check out the 1 frank left disaster. Only had 1 man left.
yep, already happened :) It was from Rome 1 I think. Great stuff :) And it wasn't just 1 "troop". It was literally 1 guy, all alone. xD
@@Finwaell that shit was funny 😂
This is actually a really good one if you struggle to take out skarsnik because you can't get a hold of him can screw you so much
very nice play once more!
"but pretiege don't pay the fucking bills" lmfao!
I miss the sieges in MTW 2 where if you destroyed the siege equipment, the enemy had to withdraw and they only had as many ladders as they built pre-battle so it was perfectly viable to protect the walls. Aaand ofc multi-layered settlements where if the first walls fell, you could fall back to the second, then third and your final square made your units unbreakable. Good times.
How do you get the simplified text when you hover over a unit and how do you manually select the area for siege equipment to shoot instead of a unit?
Outstanding move
Angolmois: Genkou Kassenki. The castle is too large and we don't have enough man too defend.
the mad doctor does it again!
If you were to make a checklist of objective before marching after Karak 8 peaks, what would they be? Cause I never seem to be able to prepare enough before marching down there.
Is there any way you could give us the save files after before or after saving the campaign so that your viewers may continue the campaigns? I would highly appreciate it :)
"Prestige don't pay the fucking bill"
Ya hear that, Bretonnia?
Some next level shit my man
meets an equally powerful force throws sponge at them
I have two questions that could improve my own battle results: First: how do you get the map to show all the ranges, order directions and units to light up? I know spacebar does it for the unit you have selected, but I always have to find each ranged unit to see their range which is not very practical in huge battles. And second, how can I move my entire formation (as in my entire stack) without them losing the formation. I can do that when I lock units into teams, but the way it is done here (just select everything and move downhill) without them just forming a line is much better.
+Scaitan
If you want to move a lot of your units around the battlefield like Legend does with the troops holding formation, just press Alt button and click and drag on your selected units. So select the units you want to move, hold Alt button, and click on a/the selected unit and hold, then move your mouse and the units formation around.
Regarding the other part of your question about order directions, ranges and so on. When you hold down spacebar a little box appears on the right side of the screen with a bunch of "options" (don't know what to call them). On this box there are several things you can enable and disable. Play around with it for a little and you'll figure out the system. An important thing to note, is that the "lock" symbols in the box can be selected thereby permanently enabling/disabling something.
Hope this helped. If you need more advice, just reply to my comment and I'll get back to you.
@@kimjongniller7776 Thank you very much for the detailed answer. That will help in my battles.
@@Skaitania BTW a super useful tool that will massively help in your battles is the ability to disable tree foliage when there is trees in front of the camera. You can do it by holding down space bar and enabling it in the little black box that comes up when you press space bar. The button is called foliage or something.
It doesn't disable all leaves and plants on the battlemap, only those in front of the camera. Try it out next time you are playing on a map with a lot of trees. It helped me massively and removed a super annoying issue for me.
@@kimjongniller7776 I have that, otherwise it is completely impossible to fight on forest maps. :-)
@@Skaitania It used to drive me insane to the point of quitting the battle to fight another day, if a forest battle came up. Having the camera zoomed as close as possible to the ground just to be able to see the battlefield was incredibly frustrating for me.
But luckily for my mental health and my soldiers sake, I discovered how to disable foliage. Makes controlling the your units much easier.
"Prestige does not pay your fucking bills"
Bro, always go and destroy the night goblins after securing the province
he concluded that the slayers are cheaper than the quarrelers, or did I miss something? (does it not double up in the cost display). darn :D but great save. shows how creative play in this game can really help you stay in the most terrible campaigns going
WOW man i have to said you are really good
it almost like in lore outnumber 20 to 1 and still fought killing couple off thousand and fighting to the last
but why you cant fight to the death in medival 2 total war you can fight to the last you still had like 400 dwarf left and good troops
Yes I miss that the troops in the main square were unbreakable.
@@Finwaell but man you did very good and your strategie where good im impress man well played
My garrisons have been coming in full strength sometimes as well
I know people manufacture some scuffed campaigns but this campaign looks like it wasn't which makes it worse. How did he not destroy Skarsnik by now? That is the most important thing you can do after consolidating your home province.
It is on ledgendary difficulty and it took a while for me to get rid of him in my campaign because he can skirt around the edges and avoid you and get doom stack after doom stack give the guy a break
Also remember that it's just a video game also. It's not that important.
Could also be first time doing Clan Angrund campaign, did the exact same thing my first time. I did expand more than this, but it was more towards Karak Eight Peaks. Of course, that meant Skarsnik eventually got around to my home provinces and took all of them.
Skarsnik is a pain to get rid of, especially when he turtles up the garrisons of his settlements
"But prestige don't pay the fucking bills, right?"
"prestige don't pay the fucking bills"
he should do more disaster campaign multipart ones
That was fucking epic, wow.
Yea I have been in these situations at times to when they just have to much. I tend to favour lower difficulties myself due to diplomacy I like to use it a ton to start large alliances and whatnot. Anyway I have never seen skarsnik with so many armies in any difficulty before at that turn must have been some bad luck this one game.
That's a grudgin'...
''There's great prestige in holding onto your capital. But, prestige don't pay your fucking bills'' LOL
@legendoftotalwar, you probably noticed at some point, but you disbanded a Dwarf Warrior, and instead of recruiting a Quarreler, you recruited another Dwarf Warrior.
He didn't disband them, though, he merged them.
@@GerackSerack Regardless, at 1:03:21 he meant to recruit Quarreler's, not Dwarf Warriors.
The one time I played Clan Angrund I fled to the badlands and took a walled city by eight peaks to turtle up in. And I didn't feel bad about it at all their start is Epirus level bad.
Legendary Epirus is epic!
So how many Iron Breaker units to you need to break 4 Greenskin stacks?
Also has anyone else noticed that Iron Breaker and Miners will automaticly throw their charges at fleeing enemy unit even with the hold fire option on.
its more guard mode that prevents the fire on broken units. If the unit breaks but you have guard mode off the unit will still fire at them.
Epic!!
the hell did the guy do for 50 turns
Dont know why but the greenskin is stronger right now. On most of my campaign recently (on hard difficult), the greenskin normally conquered most of the dwarf stronghold and field 2-3 full stacks of black orc and immortal (i play sfo)
Did this guy use any mods or why has skarsnik so freaking many armies?
What do you say about the coop kampin loading Bug?
Hi I'm Thomas. And I have never lost a total war multiplayer game... Ever ... In 11 years.... Over 1500 games.
WE ARE RELENTLESS!
great
1:10:00 do pirates get instantly spawning full garrisons? o.O
What is the name of the ost in the beginning of video?
why would you build the trade depot when you aren't building a trade resource? Also I hope the guy you send this back to equips the weapons you seem to always ignore.
It increases income form other buildings.
Why did you for for skavenblight? Climate is more habitable? And a 10 slot settlement
no. skavenblight has like A single settlement slot for every race BUT skaven :D it literally is a dead city for everyone else.
Belegar deployed 1337 for last battle... That explains all.
I just started getting into Tww2, why does this campaign have so many bodies in one unit? 100 dwarves in one unit of warriors??
The game is balanced for the highest setting, so I cant recommend it enough to have it on ultra, even if you have to play on lower quality
that damn army loss penalty :'(
1:06:44 You do know that bloated corpses are suicide units right?
Ye, i confused when he do that though 🤣
he ran towards it like a madlad
Angrund is very deceptive for new players. The Dawi are defensively focused as a faction, so new players try to use that to their advantage. But you just can’t sit while the greenskins snowball. You’ve got to hit them.
Total War Warhammer : Goblin-tide
Sup friends, i have to ask as i havent found any working solution around.
Plain and simple, i have the crash after realtime battle in loading screen bug so i was curious if some of you have solved it
I tried changing drivers, already playing on dx11 , deleting replays in appdata, deleting whole warhammer folder in appdata
and yet it still keeps suiciding to desktop .
(its not after every battle , it can go 5-10 turns and various battles and then flop)
Reinstal the game, make sure no part of any mod survived, check your cpu/gpu / hard drive degrees. Are you runing under w10 ?
I try to summarise it but it could be a ton of things.
I experienced this in many Tw every time something was unstable somehow
@@kint87
no mods ever attempted in this one, the temperatures are fine (saw some guy on steam forums getting help about it so i thought it might be that)
However i am running it on win10
Why is there screen tearing?
Can anyone tell me why every single TW Player I find on youtube NEVER pauses during battles to give orders or get tactical information?
Because it's impossible in legendary difficulty
@@noriantiri9310 even on non-legendary campaigns they still don't pause, but I guess if you're used to one style you just keep doing it.
Imagine if this playthrough was with the current patch. That war against Clan Skryre would fucked Legend over. Those Ratlings Guns and Jezzails are OP. And Doom Flayers melt Dwarf-things.
What the hell is the army lost penalty, and why the fuck does it cause an entire army of dwarves defending a karak with no means of retreat to just instantly rout? The fuck?
I am obviously here not to pick on you I just could not help my self not to tell you. I have not finished video and I bet you noticed later or some guys already told you, but You bought axe warriors instead of the range unit :) ... That being said. You are still much better player than me :D and I really enjoy watching you save asses of other people :D
How do you get big regiments in a total war game?
If you're talking about the amount of men in a unit, it's in graphics options.
Hehe the ai dont send armies cross country. I was playing as clan skrya i had the whole old world and was getting the deserts. Then the lizard men send 5 armies strait to Skaven Blight! That was weird
funny; angrund is much like abgrund, german for abyss
Jesus you did well in that siege. I've never seen Crooked Moons get that big.
