GOSHHH I LOVE THIS
Tsukasas growl is amazing i love it
"noo they sweared and cursed!!" bro they're literally high schoolers what do you expect? a goo goo gaa gaa? no, they're grown up. it's normal. there's also rarely a kid under 12 year old playing pjsk because they're maybe uninterested and they're probably more interested in cringe things or smth like that. and mostly, pjsk players are teens who is normal with swearing, but why are they acting that the wxs are cutie little babies who shouldn't swear? I'm confused with this fandom as the time goes😓
and 2:20 is amazing, but can we appreciate 2:33 too
honestly this, you’ll see these mfs sexualising akito and touya or whatever the fuck and they’ll be acting like toddlers when they see a character cursing or something 💀
waiting for some rant about the song and not saying tsukasa's growl (I LOVE TSUKASA'S VOCALS HERE BUT I NEED TO HEAR SOME OPINIONS ABT THE LYRICS
I might be two months late and have only listened to the full song like 5 minutes ago but we ball !! It’s a pretty clear message anyways at least in my opinion: it’s about modern art (specifically trendy/influencer music) and how artistry as a whole suffers for the sake of profit and fame.
To start, the computer voice telling the user to rewrite their music and how currently it’s ’not in use’ shows how soulless the music industry has become. What dictates ‘popular’ music isn’t human beings collectively deciding what is good, but an arbitrary algorithm that is largely influenced by fame, money, and luck that makes a song viral. “Please listen to more pop songs and try again” further proves this sentiment as music starts to mean less about making something original and creative and more about copying something already popular in hopes of recreating its success.
The first verse is just an enormous dig on the industry- any music that isn’t popular are just ‘dead sounds’, something lame and irrelevant that has no value. Yet ironically enough music that is raised to the top are often meaningless in their messages too, the ‘artists’ behind them not making music they have something unique they want to express, but because they want to make a name for themselves in the quickest way possible while also profiting off of it. It’s honestly very rare to hear songs directly reference influencers because they’ve really only been around for a few years, but it absolutely changed how art is used. It doesn’t matter what the words mean or if it makes any sense: As long as it’s catchy and sells well to their audience, then that’s all that matters. The pre-chorus follows this with “Is it about the numbers than the artistry?” further questioning the morals people who make that kind of music have, further criticizing them for selling out for virality and leaving something empty and meaningless behind. What they do doesn’t just hurt music at that time, but it leaves a permanent impression on art as a whole. The only kind of art people care about now is what’s easy to consume, and anything else is tossed aside.
“Ugh, all these trendy “artists” trying to be smartasses..” Is probably my favorite line. Not just because Nene’s delivery is absolutely perfect but because it also encapsulates another aspect of ‘influencer artists’: the ones that try to pass off their work as subversive or unique when it never really breaks the formula. The pre-chorus after that even more just shows how little they care with the lines “The lyrics don’t matter, please give me something that’ll get lots of views!” showing that it’s all just shallow attempts to be profound when they fundamentally don’t understand or care enough to actually try.
And we finally get to the chorus which is actually pretty uplifting all things considered. If the verses were the singer talking to trending artists/influencers and criticizing them, the chorus is the singer talking to us, the listening, the audience, and the artists and inspiring them. It’s saying to reject the modern pop era and to create art that actually means something to you. “Don’t disguise yourself, fantasies and ideals are fine. What happened to the things you wanted to sing about?” Are genuine sentiments to be yourself even in an age where that self could and probably would be rejected by the mainstream. But that’s perfectly okay, even if your art starts off awkward or bad it’s still yours, something true that isn’t tainted by what’s trending or what will make you the most money. Whatever song, video, art piece you’re trying or want to make, don’t give up on it- because there’s something valuable and worthwhile in what you wanted to share, no matter how else the rest of the world sees it.
A few ending things: “I don’t understand any of this!” In my eyes can be interpreted in three ways, a. This is referring to trying to cater to an uncaring algorithm and failing. There was this really good video made by Super Eyepatch Wolf about CZcamsr courses, and how it’s ultimately impossible to “curate” success because it’s nearly entirely based on luck and very specific circumstances. And the same goes for music- there’s nothing to understand because the internet works in strange ways, and it can be frustrating to try and learn anyways. That or b. This is referring to the earlier lines of ‘There must have been something I wanted to share.” Because after trying to appease the media for so long you start to lose the original meaning of your art, and it can be hard to find it again and make something you’re proud of again. Or c. This is said out of frustration to the current state of modern music and how arbitrary the entire system is into what is considered ‘good art’. I lean more towards the last one, but it’s just something I initially thought when I first listened to the song.
There are still some lines I don’t fully know the meaning of as well i.e “Players getting the red card for devouring dead sounds one night”, and there might be some things I’ve misinterpreted (I’m writing this very late) and I haven’t read the event story tied to this song so god forbid if anyone read all of this I’d love to hear someone else’s thoughts. Also I’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter in terms of the song’s meaning at all but I’m still trying to figure out what manji 卍 is because people have labeled it from being a swastika to just meaning the word ‘girl’ so if anyone smarter than me can figure it out that would be nice. Sorry for the excessively long comment, I hope this fulfills your requirements of a “rant” lmfao
The extra voice sounds so much like Mizuki

There’s no issue with these lyrics you’re just wrong
japanese isnt a language u can directly translate, hence many liberties are made in translation for better clarity. the term means something along the lines of “don’t be silly” or “fuck off”, thus the multiple choosing of wording
if ur going to try to correct someone atleast be right about it lmfao
