    The notre dame was my entry into Europe. I left new Zealand aged 40..taxied straight from the airport. The bells were tolling loud, as pavorotti just passed away. I fell to my knees and entered..went straight to the confessional and gave all the weight of my sins there. Thus began a 12 year romance with Europe.

      You guys are heartbroken over a damn BUILDING????
      What about heartbroken ALL of the sins which were committing against THE very ONE which yielded up HIS LIFE for humanity, so that one day we might be with HIM?
      Are we destroyed in our very hearts, for the way we have despised HIS LOVE for us? I mean, that would be something I would be able to understand.
      But a BUILDING............ which NO ONE passed away in? No I'm sorry I can't comprehend something like that.

      Not if Macron tries to outdo what took true artisans 200 years to do in five years. Not possible. Put it back to look as close as possible to what it was for years. Do not mess with perfection.
      Use modern metals for the roof, but make it look the same. Preserve the architectural and historical integrity. Hide a modern fire system, but hide it. .

      @apollon jason
      Well yeah.....I know that I used to think just like what you've said.......oh but that was before I read HIS WORD for MYSELF. Instead of hardening my heart against THE very GOD WHO CREATED me and that loved us so much that HE.......I still can't believe what HE did for me, really for humanity! That HE, 2000 years ago, paid the price for the way that I have SQUANDERED AWAY, my existence, my very life, in exchange for my sins. It's unbelievable, WHY should a righteous GOD, a BEING WHO ONLY DOES GOOD a GOD that is described in HIS WORD as "a GOD of LOVE" DIE on a cross for a piece of "you know what, like myself"? It's mindboggeling. See what unfortunately has happened in this world's history is......men **MANKIND** has been deceived, led astray by the "prince of darkness" himself, which actually FELL from the very presence of THE LORD GOD of the ENTIRE UNIVERSE, THE VERY ONE WHO CREATED this mighty angel. GOD CREATED him with unsurpassed beauty, he had awesome understanding and wisdom. Scripture describes Lucifer this way "you were PERFECT in *your ways* from the day you were CREATED, I ESTABLISHED you: every precious stone was your covering ((his clothes if you will)), the diamond, the saffire, the onexx, the jasper; you walked back and forth amidst the firery stone's. ((in the VERY PRESENCE of GOD)) He had once stood in the very presence of THE LORD'S throne, THE CREATOR'S GLORY which NO man can behold, had shinned upon him, above and beyond the other angels, he was favored and loved by all of the angelic hosts. But scripture tells us that he rebelled against the government of GOD, causing a war, a revolt in heaven. By whispering, insinuating lies about GOD'S PERFECT CHARACTER, HIS goodness in the minds of the angels, "GOD isn't fair, if I was in charge, things would be much better, you guy's ((angels)) don't need GOD'S HOLY LAW, which IS HIS standard for JUDGEMENT. In order to make us good and prefect beings". Insinuations at first that became bolder and bolder still until the crisis reached a tipping point. So he led a third of GOD'S mighty and good angels into open rebellion against their CREATOR and they were cast out of heaven. Jesus says in HIS WORD "I watched satan fall from heaven as lightning flashes from the the east to the west" and also in Revelation "WOE to the inhabitants of the earth, for the devil has come down unto YOU **humanity** having great wrath because he knows that he only has but a short time".......WHY is that??
      Because CHRIST at HIS second coming WILL DESTROY him along with everyone of the angels which have sided with satan and have deceived and lied to ALL of US, about WHO GOD really IS. You see unfortunately we have believed what he wants you and I to believe.
      He has led us to think either there is NO GOD **atheism** or to look upon GOD as a VINDICTIVE being, one who is going to "ROAST INDIVIDUALS" in some "TORTURE PIT" which the EVILchurch of roman CATHOLICISM has concocted and invented with their IDIOTIC, manmade TRADITIONS, in order to "BILK humanity of ALL our money", giving the cash to that FALSE church. They have taught the people this is WHO and what this GOD will do to everyone who doesn't bow down and kiss the ring of the "AHOLE, in a pointy hat that calls himself GOD'S representative, the pope of rome". This is what these **SCHMUCKS** called HELL and GOD will for eons and eons and eons for ETERNITY, burn people. This unfortunately is what humanity has bought into and "have taken the bait" which the "father of LIES" has very cleverly ENTRAPTED us with by working through his human agents. And this is why you can mock THE LORD. WHO left HIS throne in heaven, humbled HIMSELF, laying aside HIS GLORY, took upon HIMSELF human flesh ((so HE could relate with us and truly know our pains and struggles)) and left the adoration, the love of HIS angels who delight to do HIS WILL. The GLORY which HE has ALWAYS had with HIS FATHER. THIS loving PLAN of SALVATION had been planned from the beginning. THE FATHER along with HIS SON Jesus counseled just prior to the creation of the earth, that if man should fail his test of loyalty and love for his CREATOR, that GOD would make it possible for man to have a second chance to be redeemed ((bought back)) from the sins and the consequences which SIN has brought upon him and humanity. Also from the realm which the prince of evil has ruled over, from the very beginning, WHY? Because our first parents, Adam and Eve had relinquished their dominion which GOD gave them in the garden of Eden when HE CREATED them giving them rulership over the earth, under HIS watchcare of course, HIS tenderness, HIS FATHERLY guidance for them. THIS IS "THE RESCUE of ALL rescue MISSIONS" which the idiot producers of Hollywood couldn't EVER dream up!!!!!!!!!

Three years later I'm walking by it and as I pass it....I realize that this is the rebuilt version of the building! It was like it had never happened. I hope they can painstakingly restore this beautiful building to its original grandeur like the building here in Omaha.

      That's really nice... There is a big difference though, in that this cathedral was centuries old and beautiful architecture and a world renowned icon.. Also sadly there is a sinister act that has also burnt down many other churches... Whoever is responsible is truely sick. It's not even about the religion, it's about an extremely old beautiful piece of history, that is irreplaceable and a significant part of France's history and culture...

    the roof's wooden beams were not tinder as the news continues to prescribe those wooden beans are checked retreated w/ tumescent every 6 mos. applied correctly- coupled with OAK burning very slowly.

      The fire probably smoldered for a long time before attacking the massive beams. Expert will figure it out. I hope it was an accident like a short circuit caused by faulty electrical cords for the restoration. Thank you for the information on the maintenance of the beams which I was not aware of.

      Idols? Really. Protestants have no idea that they exchanged religious “idolatry” for material idolatry: after all it was Protestantism that created the idea of “The Prosperity Gospel “ -that the better the Almighty loves you is demonstrated by how rich you will get, on earth.
