I know the organ is of later vintage but does contain some pipework from other previous instruments, a few complete ranks from the original instrument. When you said, 'The Cathedral has not suffered a major fire', sent chills throughout my body. @eddygonzalez6018 Pƙed 2 lety +1

Wow, it's very hard to answer your question without going into a dissertation about Gregorian Chants, but I'll restrain myself. What your listening to is background music edited in during the production. You would have never hear this late polyphonic plainchant entering church, but only during mass. There are several recordings I recommend students or people interested in learning to appreciate the different types or modes of Medieval Ecclesiastical music. 1. The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos. This is an old order of Benedictine monks from Spain in the Santo Domingo Abbey in Spain. They've been singing chants since it's beginning in the 11 century. It contains a good variety of modes and styles.
      2. VOICES: Chant from Avignon. These are all female voices although in it's time they would have been sung by children or "castratos".
      3. Salve Regina-Gregorian Chants, if you can find it. This is a collection of chants sung by the Benedictine Monks of the Abbey of St. Maurice and St. Maur, in Clervaux, Luxemburg. What makes this CD ilovely is it's recording during mass. It contains the background noise of the church atmosphere while preserving all the reverence and spirituality expected. This is the closest to the real experience felt in the 12 through 15 century Mass. There are many other good recordings, however, these particular ones encompasses a wide variety through time, modes and evolution of Medieval Ecclesiastical music. Hope that helps.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst Womban, blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus, Holy Mary thee Only Mother of God, pray for us sinners now at the hour of our death, now do you know who thee Beloved Virgin Mary is? Mother Earth, just like the first commandment tells all of you, which also tells you NO Gods before Me, cause Christ is thee only LORD thy God, and all Catholics know Mary is thee Mother of God, now tell me why you wouldn’t praise her? Nobody needs to venerate Mary, cause thee only Man greater than Mary is God thee Father, thee Apostles Creed, you all know whose decree this is? It’s Pauls don’t be duhm, who is thee only Apostle that signs the Bible? It’s at thee top of every book and it’s the way I write in all books, as I am thee only author of the Bible, Philemon 1:19, Colossians 4:18 Thessalonians 3:17 Corinthians 1-16:21 Thessalonians 1-2:18 and everywhere I is written is where I Paul am writing, for their is no one greater than Me, thee only true living God, thee LORD thy God, anyone talking about venerating thee Virgin Mary, who is Lord Jesus Christ, has more problems in their hands than they can even imagine for thinking they’re greater than thee Mother of honor thy Father and Mother.
