      I'm pretty sure this has been covered as to why they're so good at that, it's razors width between life and death and they still somehow get it right and defy death. Literal meaning of "in the zone" the world slows down and somehow, they just do what they do. Madness isn't it

    • @Bodie2020
      @Bodie2020 Před 2 lety +14

      When you are in the zone is almost primal. You pretty well disconnect from reality. My best races I don’t remember. I completely shut my conscious brain off and ride. There’s little glimpses that come to me but that’s it. My fellow racers soon learned that asking me what I thought about the track was useless. I raced off-road and we didn’t get to practice the course. The ones we did pre ride I was terrible on.

      @@6_Linn yeah our eyes addapt and slow down the world for you. you can actually try it for yourself in a car. if you go out on a highway and just drive att 180-200kmh (125mph) for a while and then try to slow down and get on the offramp/get off the highway. you will notice how your mind thinks you are going 40kmh but your speedo says 110kmh it's what's called speed blindness. :)

He talks about what he's thinking and how he feels at the moment, what was his possible position at the race, with all the contenders data he got at the moment. Where and how to take care of the engine, how to ride the bike. Even tell us where he's feeling under control and where he's just a passenger of the bike.
