bro 8 minutes into the video and i'm seeing Vexen and Zexion gameplay! this looks dope AF. i sure hope we can get some gameplay of that in mission mode next build showcase.
update: saw the Axel vs sora fight. and omg you made him so clean with the combos! ignoring the Axel DAB and sora not fighting back in that fight. i just gotta say. top notch on the org 13 ai allies. all of them shown in this was just SUPERB. Larexenes speed on the battlefield. axels fire effects. vexens ice magic, Zexions book doing what i see is juggles to aid you in combos. HELL even Xigbar walking upside down in and out of combat like he is flexing was good. (although i assume it was more of a bug, but it was still hilarious to see) honestly if i may suggest. have all org 13's limit be their DA (desperation attack) tho some might need to be dumbed down like Xaldins, Xemnas, and tweaked like luxords. but knowing you and your teams skills i could see that also being in the next update showcase. keep doing awesome and providing 358/2 days the love IT DESERVES!
My god this is amazing. I just realized that to recreate this game, Shinobi must have had to studied the OG Days thoroughly in order to recreate it faithfully. From soundtrack to enemy placements and attacks, not to mention those thorn gates and all the places those pop up. As well as Organization members and how their AI works when they're co-op in story mode. Plus some in-game settings that will need modeled assets. Gotta remember theres so much more going on behind the scenes. I may have missed this somewhere, but I am wondering where we will be able to eventually play the game. Awesome job, Shinobi! Take all the time you need in order to make this a project to be proud of!
Before becoming a Nobody, as a child, this was my Younger Sibling's favorite title from the franchise. We would play together for hours on our DS... I thank you for remaking this for all our sakes..
This is so cool! The irrational part of me wishes this was HD and not PS2, but still... Even this is a huge step up from the DS. You all are doing amazing work and I'm excited to see how the full game looks! (Even if that means waiting a couple years)

Wow that addition of the CoM stuff into 358 is sick! Seeing the realm of darkness level from BBS is also really cool! I feel like practically anything is possible if you're doing that. If you are adding a secret boss in the style of how square enix did them, I have some ideas, do not feel pressured to do any of these I am just spitballing for fun Vanitas may be an interesting choice, if you disregard a lore reason in fighting him or the remnant during the events of 358, it would be a great hint at Roxas and Ventus' connection through Vanitas, like how we got hints of Xemnas in KH1 through how he referred to Ansem Alternatively Sora during the events of KH2 I could see being interesting, kind of like how the Yozura battle seems to be a battle of protagonists if we assume Yozura will be a protag, then having a scenerio in which you fight from Roxas' perspective could also work, hell in KH2 Roxas is not defeated in the beginning of that closing cutscene so you could totally reuse the end cutscene of that fight after draining Sora's HP. That fight felt to me like a 358 days epilogue in how we got one last scene with Roxas and Axel before splitting up But regardless, you do what you have planned, you have been doing such a fantastic job I trust in whatever you make for this remake!

Being able to play as the other characters is unleashing the amazing potential this game had. The developers put so much effort into making every single character have its own unique playstyle and 90% of people don't even know about it because it's locked behind the multiplayer mode and lets be real it's impossible to find a KH fan to play with that won't just button mash the entire time.
oh wow, the extra stuff you've been adding seems wild! Good luck with putting it all together ^^ Also I know you cant transplant assets from it, but the Dark Corridor missions in KHUX could still be interesting to look at for some inspo maybe (I mean, not a lot happens actually)
Will you be using the extra cut scenes in the 1.5 version? I recall quite a bit of scenes in the DS game where it’s just text were made into full scenes with voice acting in 1.5. Also, I have no clue how you’re gonna redo the boss fights in this game. But I applaud you for working on this!
Yeah, some cutscenes were given voiceacting where they had none originally. They really wanted that remake(that never ended up happening, lol) to work.

I played Days upscaled on an emulator recently. The upscaling improved the graphics DRAMATICALLY, almost to a PS2 level. I don't think it would be easy to import those models into KH2 though.
What you guys are doing is truly beautiful. 368/2 Days is my favorite Kingdom Hearts ❤️. I was so disappointed that they didn't included a playable version in the collections, but I still have a blast playing it on DS.

Keep at it, everyone is rooting for you!!! ♥️ I will give one critique, and it’s that I think the dark corridor sections look like they could be really confusing to navigate with the pitch-black background. Maybe giving it a background like the corridor between Data Twilight Town and The World That Never Was in KH2, or some kind of swirling dark smoke look-sort of like the area you enter in KH3’s Toy Story world when you chase down where Buzz was kidnapped to before you fight the world boss, or the look of the portals themselves. I think having some kind of backdrop, even if it’s faint, could really help with the readability in there. Thanks so much for all your effort!
looks pretty good I hope you can fix the bug with the HP bars for the enemies Also I have a recommendation I think it is a cool idea to travel through doors of darkness, but the dark corridor is hard to see so I thought it would be cool to have doors of light inside the dark corridor to show they lead to worlds of light also it would be easier to see it. keep up the good work I am looking forward to the next update.

Holy crap this is so COOL and you were able to import the DS map I know that must have taken a crap ton of time, the only thing I wish though is that organization coats were a little bit more animated in the running and walking cycle, but nonetheless this is extremely your hard work is appreciated.

Holy smokes this is really impressive. Something like this would make Days far more fun to play too since having an expanded moveset as well as balance tweaking would make it way more engaging and not just a chore to slowly whittle down enemies with massive health bars.

It is indeed custom MIDI (converted back into custom KH2 BGM), I believe this is the first time it's been done ever, by none other than the AMAZING Yukiroz 🙏
This is my first time hearing of this fan remake! Are you going to recreate the multiplayer mode? What about quality of life changes, like being able to access menus while out on missions, or being able to explore the castle between missions?
Multiplayer will indeed happen eventually, but more towards the end after I've finished all of the playable characters; menus are currently accessible in some missions, but some missions are bugged... honestly I think I'd like to stick to Day's system and revert those missions to a battle-only pause menu, and enable the full menu only while in the castle... but I'm still deciding and seeing if I can make it work properly; and yes, the castle will be fully explorable before and after missions, and the player will use Roxas's room to go to sleep and advance the Day :)
Yes! Eventually I will remake all of them within the KH2 engine, however for now I'm using the original Days cutscenes as placeholders, until I can get around to remaking them all since that will take a good bit of time :)
I’d love to see if you play with Roxas and Xion is in the party or vise versa for the limit break to involve both of them doing something together as they’re both keyblade wielders. Would be super badass 😅

@@justcallmeSvenYou have to edit the bgm file and add loop points. 0C 02 for the start off the loop and 0C 03 for the end
This is my first time hearing of this fan remake! Are you going to recreate the multiplayer mode? What about quality of life changes, like being able to access menus while out on missions, or being able to explore the castle between missions?
Multiplayer will indeed happen eventually, but more towards the end after I've finished all of the playable characters; menus are currently accessible in some missions, but some missions are bugged... honestly I think I'd like to stick to Day's system and revert those missions to a battle-only pause menu, and enable the full menu only while in the castle... but I'm still deciding and seeing if I can make it work properly; and yes, the castle will be fully explorable before and after missions, and the player will use Roxas's room to go to sleep and advance the Day :)

He asked me if the scenes with only texts from the original days would be remade in the kh2 engine, since I think it would be excellent
Yes! Eventually I will remake all of them within the KH2 engine, however for now I'm using the original Days cutscenes as placeholders, until I can get around to remaking them all since that will take a good bit of time :)

I’d love to see if you play with Roxas and Xion is in the party or vise versa for the limit break to involve both of them doing something together as they’re both keyblade wielders. Would be super badass 😅
