I got the text alerts. But I didn't hear any sirens. Not everyone has a cell phone you know
Might as well a siren located at moi road and kupa’a street telling that siren is marked operational in Hawaii siren map. No wonder why it hasn’t activated but if it was activated before it needs to send a signal to sound the siren. If the fire caused power to shut down then the siren can turn off cause it is connected to the power source for hanapepe.

Hawaii's been steadily putting in more roads, more houses just about designed to burn, more cars, stripping away native foliage and introducing invasive plants, taking tons of land and stripping it by raising cattle on it ... I dunno, it'll always be a mystery won't it?
Been very dry and windy this past week no surprise there was a brush fire on Maui now Kauai. These are the same conditions as last year
