Definitely a pleasure to meet you and Ric at GuitCon. Nice video shane, thanks mate!
Thanks Charles! You too mate.
Shane , I just got the Jackman for Christmas yesterday , I spent a couple of hours with it this morning and I love it. I have not tried the effects loop yet. I found the sweet spot right where you did. Nice video.
I own one of these and love it. It sounds good at low volumes and handles pedals well which makes it great for home use. Thanks for the demo.
Man that thing sounds great ! Thanks for the follow up demo Shane !
Nice Vid Shane, can’t wait to hear how it stands up to a Live situation! Lily to hear how loud it will get on Clean without breaking up and Dirty! Thanks man keep up the good work. How you had a Great Christmas! Cheers!!
I just might have to pick up one of these Jackman's I have a Fender amp currently but I also dig that Marshall tone. For the price you just cant beat it. Great review. Thanks Shane
I have the Joyo Meteor and Zombie. I've been very impressed with both. Impressive tones, very responsive to pedals and volume changes on the guitar, and they are surprisingly loud. I run mine into a 1x15 Supro cab, btw.
Very great reviews/tests, you do. Thank you :)
Dayum, that sounds really good. Great Demo!
That was a really good demo Shane
I dont know how they managed to make a one valve hybrid amp sound so great but i can confirm it,
i was playing on a bunch of strats in my local guitar shop on the Mesa Boogie bantamp model with some 4x12 cab,
and it was amazing. Totally souning like a real, normal tube amp, with great dynamics and reaction.
I was thinking about reaplacing my Fender Super Champ X2 with something that have a tube preamp, but now
im considering getting BlueJay (Fender style Joyo), Jackman, and Atomic (Vox type Joyo), because they just sound great,
and i wouldn't have to worry about my power tubes failing.
Just received the ZOMBIE, and very pleased with the quality, tone, and abilities of the options. Ran it through a Blackstar 60 Cabinet and then the Marshall JCM 900 lead, 1960 which drove both with no problems and moved enough air to allow for use with a band. All options worked flawlessly right out of the box. Bluetooth paired up very quickly with no problems. What it would do in a bar setting , not sure with all the phones running about. But would be a mute point, at home worked great. Effects loop was clean and seamless with no problems. Tone abilities were as stated , clean and gain driven where as good as anticipated. The only drawback is it seems to be that it is saturated with a compressed priority in the sound chain. Good for ole UFO tunes, but haven’t run other effects through it enough to see if it can be tamed yet. Price point to quality, sound and options would be hard to beat. Very pleased with the purchase.
Well done and thanks for sharing brother!
Joyo products have come a long way.
Great tone especially with the PRS, great pedal platform too, loved the Wah
The clean tone was excellent. Is there a chance you can do another review of the Joyo BlueJay amp thru the Marshall cab. I’d love to see a shoot out of the different heads.
As always Well done Shane,
Great review. Love the sounds and can't wait for mine to arrive. You might want to turn the Bluetooth off though if you aren't using it (blue light indicates that it's on).
Nice! This amp's on my bucket list to try out. I have the Joyo Meteor, and it's quite good; I also have an Orange Micro Terror and Micro Dark, however, so the Meteor may be going to fund other stuff. Joyo has certainly been turning out some cool products though.
Don't buy it
Only thing missing from the Joyo amps is a 1/4" jack for an external channel footswitch.
Pedals
I have the Jackman and I absolutely love it! Best gear purchase I made all year
I just got a 1x12 again after getting a Mesa Boogie Mark V 25. I’m going to have to get this Jackman sometime. Great sounding amplifier.
The Jackman sounds great!
Cool Demo! Thanks for that!
i think a footswitch would be nice for this amp!
I'm sold on witch one I'm going to buy now lol I think of it as I'm getting a Marshall tone an then add whatever I want through the fx loop! What a great deal! Thanks for sharing
Please shane do a shootout between this and the orange tiny terror. Great review ❤🤘
Sounded great. And looks cool as well.
Very nice playing...these amps are neat, what is a good match for a speaker cab for electric guitar to go with it?
Man, is it just me or is it getting harder to tell the difference between cheap and expensive amps? I dont think i could pick that out blindfolded from the dsl40. Craziness. Golden age of cheap gear.
Inexpensive (low cost) is a better word to use in place of cheap (poorly made). 100% agree with your opinion. 🙂
i have their Mesa clone called the Zombie, it's pretty sweet and a great pedal platform for the price.
@@ricardofigueroa6754 im tempted. Do they make combo versions?
i remember in the 60s and 70s until the 90s.. there were not good things for 300 $ all real guitars. amps and pedals very expensive. and what musician had thousands of Dollars for buy guitars and amps. ?? maybe their parents did help buy them what they wanted when they saw that the sons were really talented.. ??
@@ricardofigueroa6754 - do you use a speaker ? or only the amp? and if you bought a speaker, what speakers are good for this ?
Wow I'm completely blown away. I'm not sure what is it expecting but I wasn't expecting that..😲 I'm left to seriously rethink my opinion of these small lower-cost amps..🤔
This amplifier sounds great going into the Marshall 2x12. Please let me know what you think!
Can you gig with that configuration?? Obviously with a mic in front of cab
Could you please experiment with running the bantamp preamp into the power amp of a peavey bandit? I’m currently using my bandit as a power amp for the Joyo British pedal but would like to see if the Bantamp might be a better sounding pre amp into it.
Thank you for this well made informative video. Please what is the model of your Marshall 2x12 cabinet you are using? Also if you have any other cabinet w/ speaker recommendations please do tell. We’d like to get this Joyo amp and need a good cab/speakers that are a good match. Cheers!
Shane. Really enjoyed your reviews of the Bantamps. I'm thinking of getting one to use Amy multi fx pedals thru. Which would you recommend, Blue, JCM or AC?
I have the zombie recently replaced the tube with a mesa boogie branded tube improves the tone a lot. Maybe when you try the zombie you could test the difference in a tube swap to a higher quality tube.
This amp has that killer 80's rock tone...not scooped through the mids, no top end buzz that hurts your teeth! Phil X (Bon Jovi, The Drills, Tommy Lee) uses a Joyo Jackman in his small amp rig for overdub sessions. Effects loop is a nice touch too...delays & reverbs sound so much better in loops!
nice guitar sweet tones
Great review man! Love the clean channel at noon! LOL, not to start any controversy, but is it pronounced “JOY-O,” or “JO-YO”? I guess either way for this product it translates as “SOUNDS-GOOD!” 😉🤙🏻🎸
Great as always Shane ... really love your opening playing there !! So ... just curious ... its supost to emulate a "marshall" ... BUT ... which one do you think its trying to emulate ?
Terry's GG&G * It's supposed to be jcm800 but it's sounds more low a jcm900 to me.
What an amazing amp !!!! An all tube guitar head you can hold in the palm of your hand. It's a great time to to be a musician, gear wise.
It's not an "all tube guitar head". It's a hybrid amp. Tube preamp and solid state power amp. You could bypass the power amp section by running signal out of the fx loop and into the fx return of an amp with a tube power amp. Otherwise, you're stuck with the SS power amp built into it. Much like the Orange Microdark
@@JC-11111 Oh thanks !!! As a bass player, I love hybrids. Well, I'm pretty sure the WANGS is all tube.
I bought the atomic version whit a 212 cab whit celestion 30v's. Amazing litle amp,,🤘
Shane, did you ever gig this? Any good? I have one that I really enjoy home use.
Also, running a pedalboard with distortion, fuzz and OD. Would you recommend clean channel with the board? Or OD Chanel with gain at 12 ish - I really can’t decide lol
Man I wish they made a model that ditched the bluetooth and put a footswitch there instead. Pretty cool little amps though!
That would be awesome if they did that!
you can easily mod the toggle switch by replacing it with a 3pdt footswitch.
I doubt that's a 3PDT switch in there, which is a good thing. You'd have take a tap off of each lug of the switch and send it to a jack, so that you could run a cable to an external footswitch. So it's possible, as long as there's few enough lugs on the existing switch to send through a jack and cable. Maybe I'll take a look at my Bantamp and see if it's possible. Might be worth making a video on, if it is.
@@j.ivguitar8636 What i mean is that you take out the toggle switch then solder 2 wires then connect it to a 3pdt (which will serve as your footswitch for distortion) You will only need 1 channel of the 3pdt ( 3 pole doube throw) switch. If you are a technician or an engineer then you will understand what i mean.
@@isnajiaffarjanjalani7445 Yeah, I see what you mean now. That'd work. I was trying to come up with a way to have a footswitch and keep the panel-mounted switch, but that'd take a relay switching system. It probably wouldn't be all that complicated, but I don't really want to ruin the resale value of mine right now, since I may be selling it to fund some other stuff.
do you thik this is loud for home use with a Joyo Bantcab? For slash tone you recomend this or marshall dsl1cr? I have a thr10 but it haven't the GNR sound which I desire. Thanks
I own one of these amps. It's humorous just how small in size it is. Literally fits in the palm of your hand. All metal, great heavy footswitch. I can only say, if you are a guitarist that has found your own sound, this amp sounds better than any of the CZcams demos. I love mine, and use it jamming a lot. I own good amps (2 Mesa Boogies, HiWatt, Hughes & Kettner, Fender, ADA MP-1) so it's not like I don't have an amp to compare this to. It won't replace my workhorse amps, but with a gym bag, you can carry this amp and cables easily. I have plugged this into my Marshall 4x12 slant, and 2 different 2x12 cabs, and it easily powers them. There is an effects loop, or it sounds great putting pedals in front. As I said, you can get your sound from the amp. 2 channels, great clean sound and all the way to 80's metal. Most of the videos don't display the amp as it sounds. Most are over processed in Pro Tools. This thing is a beast for under $200.
Can you plug the amp straight into the interface? I've heard that it has a speaker emulation on the headphones out Jack ? Or do I necessarily need to use the FX send and use an IR?
So, more proof of 1: The power amp being solid state doesn’t matter it sounds great. If the circuit is designed well, I don’t need to be hung up on tubes. All the dynamics seem to be there. Love it and love the price.
2: You gave us another video showing what a nice guitar the SE is. So again showing that a good design is what matters not where it is built or how much it costs. But I am surprised again because the SE I bought in 2013 sounded very flat, even though I was using great amps and pedals. Maybe it’s the latest pickups? I bought a dud? Which is possible even in this day and age, when you look at the 2 LP Studios I have had that were genuinely poor products.
Thanks for showing us this amp, you did a great job again. And for the money wow! Cheers!
Jason Guion I believe in the last few years, the started allowing the manufacturer to copy the original PRS pickups, not quite as good as an American pickup, but improved compared to what they were putting in there originally. Only the higher end SEs get them, not the standard series. Paul is quite proud of how well the SE sounds now.
Robert Cross hello, that’s interesting I didn’t really know much except I thought Shane’s SE must have the 85/15 S pups, and I have not had a chance to hear those in person. In this video he makes a comment that the one setting sounds bright, a little bit, and I have seen him say it before with the SE, but it is in a good way to my ears. Everyone wants a late 50’s humbucker sound, but don’t want lively brightness, the enjoyable kind, even though they were often quite bright. I don’t mean these sound like those, but I hear a lively and defined sound I really like! Thanks for the info I will check it out, cheers.
With zombie you have marshall sound at twelve and mesa boogie at 3" o'clock !!!! your groove is perfect !! french fan ILE DE LA REUNION
Hey Shane, how does this compare to the British Sound pedal? Does that little tube give it some extra warmth that the pedal does not have? Just curious. Thank you.
hello :) which amplifier sounds better Joyo Jackman II or marshall mg??
With a load of effects being fed into it, it's hard for listeners to know what the amp actually sounds like. But everyone else is doing the same 😂
Have to agree. It's difficult to make an assessment of what an am;p sounds like listening to it through computer speakers anyway (I have Altec Lansing speakers on my PC, so it sounds pretty good), but even more so when there are pedals and effects in the loop, and in this one there is a microphone in front of the amp which is adding who knows what to the mix. It might be more useful if the reviewer played the amp with nothing added, (no effects or secondary amplification) just the sound of the amp going straight to the computer microphone, then play the exact same demo through something else, and also with no additional effects or amplification, like a stock Marshall or Fender amp. That would give us a chance to compare and arrive at a reasonable conclusion about the sound of the amp. (Assuming we've heard a Marshall or Fender "in the flesh")
You may already have it reviewed, but could you demo the VIVO? Im torn between it and the Jackman
was thinking of the zombie ...but it has a sterile clean sound....this is a great vid..sold me .
I'm looking for a small head or multifx unit to record direct to my PC. Anyone have any recommendations? This looks great but 20w is way too loud.
Im just beginners to this gear.. What use for this actually? And the difference between using pedal effect
Could I get a good tone with the Joyo Bantamp with randall 2x12 v30 + Boss GT-100?
what bantamp seriea are good for dirt pedal?? to be specific plexi drive pedal
I'm wanting to upgrade my blackstar ht1rh head and cab for something a bit louder do you think this one or the zombie with the 1x12 harley benton vintage cab would be a good upgrade?
Review the Bugera 5T head and do a comparison the these heads please!
Can i use this on my amp if there wrote a"4Ω" behind it?
What is the signal chain, what cab / speaker / mic etc? Thanks.
Any of the new series Joyo pedals up for review soon by chance Shane?
Yes I have the delay pedal. It’ll be up probably early next month at this stage
Amp demos are better with somebody who knows how to play demos the amp, good playing man. I also how you go straight into the features without a bunch of motormouth.
Jackman or Bluejay for pedals???? Help please
Can you use Tone bridge through it?
I got the bantamp xl jackman ii. It or my need for a Marshall to rest indefinitely.
Did you take it out for a gig Shane?
try the new tweedy, you will enjoy it much more for you kind of music imo 🎸🙏
Hello. Can the BantAmp be used without connection to the speaker output and without connection to the headphone output AT THE SAME TIME!, without harming the amplifier? Would the amplifier suffer some kind of damage at the moment or in the long run? I want to output the signal through the amplifier send to an audio interface to record the signal without cabinet emulation so that I can use my custom impulse responses, and at the same time I don't want to have headphones and/or speakers connected for a while, can this be done without damaging the amplifier? Thank you
I’m pretty sure the answer is yes. These are class d power amps so it should be fine
@@intheblues Thank you very much!,great channel
Does it need a cab?
Come on Shane! Help me out here!!! How about an A/B test of this and the Zombie? I really cannot decide which to get! (The missues won't like me getting both!!) ;-)
Did you ever manage to gig with this?
Does anyone know if it would push a 4x12 cab? Would it sound good and last with that kind of load on it? Thanks!
Wanted to know the same. This sounds good and also looking to check the Zombie. I'm more into gits mods and pairing up different things to play through. Staying away from all the MUST HAVES. Create what I like. Thanks
Damn man, I was pretty sure I wanted the Blue Jay but I don't know anymore!
How good is the headphone out? Could it work as a line out?
I believe the headphone output has speaker emulation for a line out, but I haven't tried it myself, so I couldn't say how good it is.
This Joyo amp model comes with 6 different colors..
how to choose the right amp for my sound? or are they only up to
what color someone like most? which one i should choose for country music. playing solo aswell..Soft and sweet as they did in the 50s and 60s in Country music.
i would love to have the sound that Jimmy Reeves and Patsy Cline had late 50s and 60s. Country songs . And Freddy Fender. that sweet echoing warm love song sound..
or do i have i to buy the right pedals for this sound?
i hope Shane my request is not too difficult for you. as you might not know these artists. because of your younger age. but then again..Jimmy Hendrix and Led Zeppelin were also very famous in the 60s and yet everybody knows them... Thanks in case you try to help with advice..
@CHL9136 Thank you very much.
@CHL9136 Hi Shane. nice to hear from you. i bought a secondhand Fender Frontman 25 W. it is the sound i like. very good sound. then it happend that i saw a little sweet Joyo for 45 Dollar. but new. sweet little tube amp JG-10 Joyo. but the frontman is now my favorite. for now i have enough amps. i have also the Tiny Marshal for Les Paul sound. maybe in future i will see about the Joyo Blue. but it sounds interesting. Thanks a lot ,Shane. i always like to see your videos.
A lot of small amps sound small some times. This 1 DOESN'T! \m/ Rockin'!
That's what SHE said! ;oP
;oP
Is this tube?
AtomiC or JaCkMan?
Cool little game amp!!! Add another thing to my GAS list!!! 😂😂🎸🎸🎸
Why would you test this with anything other than an LP style guitar, be it Gibbo, Eastman or such.
It sounded so much better with that pedal on playing owner of a lonely...that riff was nice, but i felt the amp drive was somewhat less inspiring
too much of the cheap wooly neck pickup for the PRS SE. Otherwise great vid.
Can you sometime flip the imafe of you playing. Its so weird watching a lefty even tho I'm a lefty but play righty and I'd be curious to see youlooking like a righty. Even tho your great at guitar its so foreign to see your picking hand the angle, the angle of your fretting hand, your stance ,posture. Etc etc I just can't help but be fooled by my eye where it just seems to look like you have bad technique or sumthing even tho I know that's clearly not the case. Might be a good idea for a video. Regardless take it easy Shane good content as always happy new year mang
Just spin your monitor around 😂
Bright you saY what..? The sound in the video is so dark and scooped it sounds like it's in the next room
Is this loud enough?
Loud enough for what?
@@intheblues for playing in a medium to large hall?
i dont rate hugh Jackman as a guitar player ,,,,,ridiculous, but amp is goody good
Huge Ackman?
Probably because the tone is hairy they compare. Lol
Compare hairy(less) balls! ;oP
Nice dry tone at the beginning wtf
Sounds compressed in dirty. Better than an emulator but still just OK.
WHY would you play it's highest gain on the neck pickup? It sounds like MUD there! I know you are more than likely an Eric Clapton disciple, and you are probably going for the "Woman Tone", but really? It's supposed to be a Marshall - The BRIDGE is where the clarity is at!
FIRST! What'd I win ???
crank that amp, it sound much better than you played it, jeeeezzzzz
Another Chinese company like Mooer that offers no warranty. You'll be at the sellers mercy for replacement or money back.
@Quiksilver ... In the USA there's no mandated warranty. #1 Reason I'd never buy or recommend in this part of the world. In the EU who has to repair/replace? If it's the manufacturer and not the retailer their website would give me no confidence.
I've just bought this junk, and I wish I hadn't. Terrible sound, nothing like this video. OD channel is not nearly as dirty as this guy shows, very little gain and I have EMG 81 & 85. I bought it second hand, so I hope I can get my money back
This amp sound great. Which cabinet did you have plugged in? We made another video of these amps in a two person situation. Through a good speaker it rocks
