Pandan kaya cake is made for the tropical weather, with tropical ingredients. The "frosting" is actually kueh that's made with coconut milk and pandan juice. It doesn't melt even in a heat wave.
INGREDIENTS (for one 20 x 12 cm cake)
Cake
10 g castor sugar
45 g egg yolks
50 g corn oil
45 g full-fat milk
8 drops pandan paste
50 g cake flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/16 tsp salt
105 g egg whites
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
40 g castor sugar
KAYA
50 g young pandan leaves
water
1/2 tsp white agar-agar powder
40 g sugar
25 g unsalted butter
1/8 tsp salt
120 g pure coconut milk, freshly squeezed
35 g white hun kwee flour
5 drops pandan paste
1 big drop egg yellow food colour

is there anything else i can use to replace hun kwee flour? Also would the cake taste nice if i coated it with royal icing?

I used to watch your videos when I was little, I could never get over how beautiful and delicious pandan looked. I had a pandan waffle at a restaurant for the first time and i love the taste of pandan. I couldn’t help but think of your videos all those years ago. Thank you for making my childhood a bit sweeter.

Omg...people who look for the recipe n clear instruction....it's on the description! There's a link to his/her blog instead! Andddd this is pandan leave which gv a natural green colour for some cake and it has a very frangrant smell on it..it might be hard to find it for area out from asia..

After pouring in the egg white mixture you should try folding it in with the spatula instead of mixing it :) It's a lot easier when trying not to lose the air you just incorporatef

I mad it today without hun knee flour ,my cake is not successful

Kaya is the mixture of pandan leaves with other ingredients to make the green filling. Pandan is the ingredient.

Try to cut it with hot knife. Like . Dip the knife into the hot water first . Its will help u to get a clean cut .

At 3:29 instead of mixing it try using folding technique because when you slice through your panda kaya cake there wouldn't be any pores.
