He must have really strong forearms to hit the shuttlecock with such a small swing but still keeping the shots in fast pace
It is strength AND technique. If you squeeze your fingers right as you hit the Shuttle, you can gain a lot of power.
Practice makes perfect bro. 2 times every night.
I have never seen anyone use a shorter swing like this, the coach who figured it out is a genius. And you give the best analysis I have ever seen.
Coach teaches him everynight how to use it
It is not genius. This may work for a short while but ll be prone to injury, especially when getting older.
Well, people don’t use it often for a reason. You need to be physical really strong and even that doesn’t prevent possible future injuries
@@somnaventu_s2475 just need some lub
Bro was workd junior number 1 for a long period of time. No wonder he can adapt like this in between the match
bro i just wanna thank you for bringing such good quality insightful vids that too so regularly. Watching your breakdowns and following your tips really did help me in improving or should i say "getting good at badminton." I have a long way to go and wanna improve more. Pls do continue the hard work, Really appreciated. Typing these long paragraphs is not my thing and I find it a bit cliche😭😭😭. But i rlly wanted to let you know that youre helping thousands or at least me. And rlly love your content. Very underrated channel fr. Much love. Keep up the grind and i hope you do get recognized more. Wanted to gatekeep this gem of a channel but thats not fair to you right😭😂. Love from INDIA❤❤. And again rlly A BIG THANKS.
look at those goddamn calves. Bro can run a 10k marathon after badminton
Nope. Distance runners have thin muscular legs. Sprinters have fast twitch muscles which are usually bulky, like that of Alex.
@@Naoki-ge5xp dude, why is there always someone like you

Can u make a video abt chou tien chen on why he makes kodai looks like an easy opponent when others make kodai look like a wall
Because CTC doesn’t join in on naroakas rhythm instead he would attract etc
I think it is because CTC is good at not letting his opponent predict what the next shot is going to be. He can also pin the line with his smashes quite well
Cause he got lucky
BROTHER HE MADE IT :O
Alex coach is the key, he know how to adjust his player
Best badminton channel on youtube currently
Dude is RIPPED. He definitely had more energy than SYQ too, probably why he won. At many points I could tell that SYQ was the superior player in terms of experience and match IQ (especially first set), but lanier just pushed through with high shot speed and insane volume. Great win, he definitely worked really hard for it. Hope he keeps it up when people adapt more to his playstyle and are more rested!
Anyone notice that Lanier is using Momota’s limited edition Olympic racquet (sapphire navy Astrox 99) instead of the 99pro?
Underrated channel, keep up the good work
These videos are quite informative and with very detailed explanation. Thank you for making them 🤘🏽🙏🏽🙂
Lanier's shots are very crispy
Imagine if he was playing in Paris Olympics, with all the home crowd behind him.
Taufik Hidayat at 17 years Old ... Already Shocked The World
Yamaguchi and Intanon wee doing highlights at 16.
@@ari-athbadminton0301 and both of them do not win olympiad
@@osakrisna5530 LCW without ever winning any major title has already made it into Badminton Hall of Fame, while Taufik has not. Olympics is not everything. Taufik while being very accomplished, he is very short lived. His career is heavily overshadowed by LD and LCW.
@@reinartes7079 you must be from malay.. where talking about ages.. and then you came out to talk about olympic that your nation did not have gold any single one...
yamaguchi win analysis next please
He played really well here, but we need to wait and see if he can consistently produce such results
precisely. all these analysis based on one tourney. hopefully not 1 hit wonder.
His name is in the Korean Open 2024, so let us see how far his energy can last. Today's badminton is very demanding and not like the yesteryears.
@@hctan38yep u spot on. Let see weather his win and performance in Japan is it a fluke.just like many players nowadays.
@@elwienterprise7221 oh he is playing against Ng kar long tomorrow
He is out of the race now.
Really good video , keep up the good work
AL had advantage of being underestimated by opponents as he is still quite unknown. Now all coaches will break down his game and lo and behold, he lost in next tournament Korean Open.
Can he keep improving and beat higher ranked players? You bet. He’s young, keen and fit. The badminton world is blessed to witness a new warrior
Brisbane Qld
Really good analysis
Bro shot quality is insane well control and body balance aswell his physique is amazing for a badminton player. We got a new championship contender
Love the consistent quality content! Only if my skills on court were also so consistent😅 Thank you for another insightful video❤
Bro is only 3 years older than me yet looks 20 years older
His biggest advantage is his youth. Hope he reach great lengths in his career.
Future star ❤
He did not upset the n.1; he got rid of the all top 10..
All? U sure?
Not to mention he's also for sure being underestimated by his opponents
Perhaps he's gonna be the next best thing in badminton, after ASY.
Its not really fare to compare WS and MS ..the competition is very different in bith disciplines..its not like MS doesnt have talented players but its like too many good players in top 20 which is not really like for WS making it more predictable and easy to dominate and the competition only revolves among top 5 in WS and its not the case in MS
Great analysis!!
he played so good!
Looks more of H S Prannoy style of play.
He is a terrific player; he will be formidable play in the future! At least he will win two times world championship and one Olympic! He has confidence and good control of games!
Nah, he will be like Antonsen, a good player.
He better not be just a one tournament wonder type of player.
Right now to be no one, must fight with Victor Axelsen..very strong minded.insane come back from Victor
Will it be alright if you can show us the different badminton styles in Men's Singles? It's because if we need to adjust our playstyle we can somewhat know what style to do to win.
Borned new world champion🎉
New world championship for sure
Lucky for him..after postmortem opponent will look after
Yeah advantage of a strong entrance. Like Axelsen, people will study his style if he's going to become a heavyweight. He'll probably still do great tho!
he looks like a Greek God playing badminton
Alex shots are shorter and faster. Like he is playing doubles. Unlike the drifting singles style. Made Shi run faster.
Alex also win th japan open title by defeating Chou te chen
Which Racket is Alex Lanier using?
i also thought that shi yuqi was giving away the attack too much in the third game, he was clearing so often
can you make some videos on mens doubles game play.. i am doubles player. your videos are very informative ,plz?
Plzz also make the video on finals match
Ngl it's pretty embarrassing for china that after all this time, the best they've got is SYQ. Legends like LD and CL must be shaking their heads. Ever since Li Yong Bo left its been a struggle😢
SYQ is nowhere a bad player its just competition is very tough nowadays
You should cover Antonsen’s style and what makes him so special ( weird style but very affective )
An issue in the first set was that Lanier was playing too much lifts and clears to Shi's backhand side. Shi scored 6 points in the first set with around the head smashes, but Lanier didnt give him nearly as many opportunities in the rest of the match. Also Shi Yu Qi didnt play bad by any means, but he was not stellar either, pretty sure CTC would have won against him
i think you should create a guide vids about Men single and double strategy and placement
if he is that good, he won't be doing these videos.
Lindan became the new champ & played well for the first champion at Hongkong open 2003, then China open 2003, runner up German open was beaten by Lee Hyun Ill 2003, be champion at Danish open 2003, be continued by 2004 Swiss open 2004, All England 2004, semi final Indonesia open 2004, runner up All England 2005, runner up World Championship 2005 & Alex Lanier is going to be the next Lindan may be, he is the rising star 😅😅
Why people are so obsessed with making every new guy a new lin dan..the times are so different there were not as much variety as today in playing styles in those years
Just let everyone have their own journey
Let's see how he progresses in the next one year after all players get familiar with his style
In the next 5 tournament, i think we can make sure he is good or not.
Loved it
If that man is 19
I'm commenting this video from my mother womb😂
Someone tell me who the match between them.
.... most of the top players are off peak & tired after the Olympic
Yeah but he's doing insane for a 19y old. Hopefully he keeps it up, we love more intense matches no? :)
❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉Shi was not at good performance since olympic games because was beaten by Kunlavut Vitidsarn 2 set ( straight set )
19?? Damn he looks like 29 to me~ 😅
Yellow card for misconduct..... keep your top ON!!
He is like Lin Dan 2008, but he seems he will surpass Lin Dan. Mark my words
Why when people is playing great Everyone start to say "he is like lin dan😅"
@@Ey3shi3ldtv IMAO properly it is the first day he watches badminton. Even Viktor Axelsen didn't confident to say that himself have suprassed the GOAT (LD who have won 2 Olympics gold, 5 World Champioms, 2 World Cup, 6 All England Championship and 2 Asia Game Gold).
isn't this the same guy who defeated lee zi jia
Yes
Shi brought shame to the famiree and is now disowned.
I got confused with Shi as She 😅
कैसे वो 19 का लग रहा है??
Shi can only play an offensive fast game, lack of variety.
Not need to proud so much ... need to maintain perform every tournament is better ...just 1st time win over world no 1 but not perform other tournaments is useless
🎉
In term of technique and skills he is lacking behind all the top players but his stamina is really good. Will he be able to keep it up when his 25 hard to tell 🤔
So you are assuming he won’t improve his technique and skill?
@@Phat-rj3jo
No but in the past there were many youngsters who were doing upsets when they came into international circuit and had better technical skills than him and they still faced inconsistencies later on ..
Obviously he should ideally be improving his skills later on but its completely on him
SYQ is second class player.
China single players nowadays are lousy, playing too much handphones.

@@emersonlee9968 Probably Olympics fatigue. Viktor literally took weeks off from competitions just for prep, can't imagine how tiring it is.
His techniques are still amature at a lot of levels but he has great power and strength and it must be great for his confidence to win at such age
He may have great run in coming recent tournaments as well
