The best thing with cyclone is that since you are in the center of the circle... you can't leave the circle. The Legal-est build.

Tried to get into PoE a couple times but to no avail and then was browsing for builds to give it a go again and the whirlwind nostalgia is just *chef kiss*.
It really did spoiled me a bit for starting in legion with cyclone. Hard to find something as fun~
Finally, this is the first AoE showcase that actually shows blood perforate. The thing I always wondered was if the sequential spikes would spread out, but it looks like they stay close together, which means 100% of your spikes can overlap their AoE onto the boss, and not just 50% of them. The strike range working on it was a surprise as well.

This is the time of the league that I look forward to the most, the meme builds and experiment builds. All the beginning of the league group currency farming play is just for these moments. Another awesome video, Empy. Keep it up.

Man I miss Legion cyclone AOE
It was my first 100 - I thought it was insane. I would carry peoples 5 ways that they gave to me, AND they would tip me for it as-well.

An idea for cyclone rework: make stages grant % more aoe or somehow exponential scaling but they work like trauma stacks, so people have to heavily invest into attack speed and or duration. That way using cyclone as a trigger tool doesn't unlock its full potential.
yes but they must keep coc smh viable the archetype is just too popular
@@Neoshift yeah it still will be able to trigger, maybe leave the aoe as is for 10 aps which is the most common coc trigger rate and then they could invest into duration for more aoe that also scales with occu power charge nodes, so it's a win win. My main issue is that you just cannot scale the aoe to decent levels without sacrificing a bunch of damage and/or survivability. And it's not like the skill is fast at clearing with the movement speed penalty.
I'm a bit sad that you didn't try Vaal Ground Slam, it's already stupidly huge without any AoE investment, it'd propably have been the biggest of all the slam skills by far.
Also, wouldn't Fist of War be even better for some of the other skills you tested?
So, can you use Arctic Armour with cyclone then? If you can go stationary? It could be useful during certain boss fights.
“That is so POE” is exactly what I was thinking watching the build explanation. Haven’t played in a long time but I still love seeing the ridiculous shit you can do in this game with absurd amounts of currency.

I did a similar project a few years ago, my favorite skill was Doryani's Touch (and ice crash)
I don't know if you tried it on stream and it didn't make the cut, but you should definitely try Vengeance, it still has the same old aoe scaling mechanic that cyclone did in Legion where strike range gives it BASE radius, you should be able to get absolutely unfathomable aoe on it with this setup

Played a Vengeance strike-range stacking build this league with some self damage to trigger it, was really fun

btw, I am playing this game almost exclusively perforate, it's a very underrated skill that both clears and single-target very easily without investing in annoying mechanics or dealing with things like trauma stacks.

when he switched to rage vortex i expected him to try to get max rage and use it, maybe trying it with different weapon and weapon effects mtx would've looked really cool
You could dig a little deeper in the rage vortex it scales a lot with rage

Well actually if we could get such AoE on melee skills without spending 10 kidneys and while still doing damage, it could enable some of them. With that being said, most of them actually needs mechanical tuning. (Rage vortex should allow more than 1 active storm for example )
If sunder looks like that with inc aoe, I need that affix irl for personal reasons

Look i could be wrong but i was well and truly fully under the impression the revised cyclone skill does not take anything into account except for weapon range.
Supposedly melee strike range is a completely different stat and only applies to strike esque skills. There are a few forum posts about this, could be worth looking into if it turns out you could use the extra mods and passives for more aoe
They need to add this as base cyclone aoe and prevent it scaling more
Shouldve tried with Conc Path.. Blade Fall, Blade Blast.. Many good out of the box skills with AoE
