Never buy a Handpan without having played and listened to the sound before. Every Handpan sounds different. You have to “connect” to the sound. Also I would recommend not to buy a cheap one. They are probably not in tune. To begin playing handpan of course you don’t need to buy the most expensive one. In the beginning it is enough to have 8-9 tone fields on the top. D Kurd is a good scale to begin. If you know someone who plays the handpan ask this person to help you to find a good handpan for a reasonable price. Other possibility would be to do a handpan workshop. Usually you’ll get Handpans provided there and it gives you the chance to test them.
