Mutton Green Masala

  • Ingredients:
    Mutton - 500 gms
    Onion - 3 medium size
    Tomato puree - 3 medium size
    Coriander leaves - 1 cup
    Mint leaves - 1 cup
    Green chilli - 5
    Cashew - 20 gms
    Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
    Coriander powder - 3 tsp
    Garam masala powder - 3/4 tsp
    Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
    Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
    Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
    Salt - 1 tsp
    Bay leaf - 1
    Star anise - 1
    Green Cardamom - 1
    Black Cardamom - 1
    Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
    Cloves - 4
    Method:
    1. Prepare green masala
    a. Add coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilli and cashew.
    b. Add a little water and make a fine paste.
    2. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a cooker.
    3. Add whole garam masala and fry for a minute on medium flame.
    4. Add onion and fry till light brown on medium flame.
    5. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
    6. Add green masala and add little water.
    7. Mix well and give good boil for 4 minutes on medium flame.
    8. Add tomato puree.
    9. Add all the masala powder.
    10. Mix well and cook for 4 minutes on medium flame.
    11. Add mutton, salt and mix well.
    12. Add 1 & 1/2 cup of water.
    13. Close the lid and let it whistle 7-8.
    14. Once pressure releases open the lid.
    Mutton green masala is ready to serve.
