Keegan Murray Is The Best Pure Scorer In This Years Draft | 23.5 PPG 55.4 FG%
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 5. 04. 2022
- Murray's ascension from a no-name high school recruit with just one Division I offer (from Western Illinois) to an All-American might be the best story of any prospect in this draft class. The 21-year-old Murray, who is shooting 63% from 2 and 40% from 3, has turned himself into arguably the best player in college basketball and the most complete prospect in the draft as a 6-foot-9 forward with length and a modern skill set. He is a lights-out shooter with NBA range who doesn't need much time to get his shot off, even sprinting around screens like a wing. He can push the ball himself in transition or run the floor like a center. He is an ambidextrous, straight-line driver who also can play some pick-and-roll and punish smaller defenders with turnarounds over either shoulder. He's an active offensive rebounder and a defensive playmaker.
Murray leads the nation in win shares, ranks fourth in scoring and has been a driving force in Iowa's March run, making timely shots with the type of unwavering confidence and focus we've seen from stars such as Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan. Although still improving as a passer, Murray has added something new to his offensive repertoire seemingly every game and has the next-play mentality that generally shines in the postseason. NBA scouts will have a close eye on whether Murray can take over games like he showed in the Big Ten tournament. If he can, that would go a long way in convincing execs the Iowa star isn't just a "high-floor NBA starter" but rather that his production is more than a product of Iowa's system and he belongs in the same conversation as Holmgren and Smith as a member of the draft's elite. -- Mike Schmitz

Praying the Kings get this guy. He's going to be one of the best in the draft class AND he's a great fit next to sabonis.
He's not better than Ivey
As a pistons fan please god kings take this bum đ
Fox and Ivey would be a scary backcourt tho
Yesss this is so true and Ivey doesnât even want to play for the kings anyway so why bother
@@cthetrickshooter7799 he said it wouldnât be the worst option a couple days ago
this kid really got it out of the mud. He was on no ones radar. Ranked around the 300s in recruiting in 60s in small forwards. Congrats to this kid
*Michael Porter Jr 2.0 & he has a little Mikal Bridges in his game* đ„
â@@LeadHandMedia Got the same Mikal Bridges vibes. I think he will surprise many lashing at kangz and monte
He reminds me of a Tim Duncan that can shoot 3s. His post game is very polished and his foot work is amazing. He's not the flashiest but he gets the job done so it don't matter. Him and Sabonis could be very nice together. He provides post presence that the kings DESPERATELY needed
He averaged more than Ivey while playing in the same conference donât sleep on this guy
Perfect in Sacramento with the 4th pick !

Over ivey
At first I was thinking Ivey but then I seen this dude. If he really 6-9, the kings need that wing depth. Either one is win, Monte better not trade that pic
Word on the street is Kings want Ivey and are willing to trade down
You got it
Aye yoooo
SacTown Ready đđ
A few people have understand what is the real advantage of this kid. He started college basketball adding a few points and some rebounds, and finished with 23+ points and almost 9 rebounds per game.
He is getting much better year by year, and has not reached yet his maximum ability. MJ was like that.
Murray will be an NBA star, and I hope the Pistons will have him in their roster.
Totally agree and I hope we take him at 5. We need a pure scorer and this kid can come in next year and make an immediate impact and heâs no where near his ceiling. People say heâs the safe pick in the draft. Safe if you mean youâre guaranteed to get a future nba all star player lol. Hope we get him.
He will not be an nba star! The only part of his game that translates is his 3 pt shot. The fact that you put Keegan Murray and Mj in the same sentence made me laugh
@@alschbachb His ceiling is a 3 and D player
@@MikeyP123 did not put him in the same sentence with MJ, read more carefull and then express your opinion. Time will prove that he will be a great star, just keep watching.

@Kingston Myrick records are there to be broken. U sound Scared đ.
Lol, you funny bro
Delusional irrelevant kings fans
He made history last week recording his 100th 3 point made as a rookie and only doncic made that record
Bro I can't believe my eyes. His post moves are something I would expect from a NBA veteran but here he is doing his best Kevin McHale impression in college games. And is there like anything this guy can't do on offense? Bro Sac Town caught a dub with this pick.
Not bad, especially considering he played a year at DME after HS because he had just one D1 offer (W. Illinois). Two straight Wooden/Naismith finalists for Iowa that were 3-star recruits.
I feel like he will be around a 5 to 7 draft pick, have a decent rookie year, and then blossom into his second or third year. Lots of potential, just takes a bit of time to develope which is completely fine. This draft class is loaded
Trade pick 13 to the Spurs for Poeltl + pick 20. Who you drafting in Charlotte Michael?
My KINGS are gonna draft him
I love him or Ivey, but i have a feeling Ivey is going #3, and i don't want Holmgren, so Murray is perfect for the Kings, we desperately need another starting F to play with Barnes, and Murray could start his rookie year, Murray reminds me of a mix between Tatum and a smaller Tim Duncan, high Basketball IQ, not really flashy, but does everything really well, with no weaknesses in his game. I'm just not sure i like Mitchell starting with Fox, Mitchell would be better playing PG with the 2nd unit when Fox comes out, that's why i kinda want Ivey or Sharpe, their traditional 2 guards that would be a better fit starting with Fox, but i can't complain whoever we get, I'm just so stoked we got #4 and can actually get a quality player. If we only took Luka, this team could be in the Western Conference finals right now, ughhhhh!!
Ivey is the best player available men
Legit has Tatum vibes. We need this type of player. No more guards we have 3 Fox, Mitchell, DiVincenzo. They are all solid. Let's build the right way. The moves Monte has been making seems to point to him snagging Murray. It only makes sense.

Dude seems like a really good player. Need to check out his pros and cons but he definitely can play
His pros are shooting, defense, rebounding and finishing and his cons are shot creation and athleticism. Iâm glad my favorite team drafted him.
@@arjunbains801 Athleticism is not a con for him. This is something lazy scouts have said because he's not flashy. He gets above the rim easily and I watched games where he was beating guards down the court on fast break. A more accurate criticism is that he takes long strides and 'glides'. Because of this, he can get beat by quickness on D and savvy defenders can get in his path to take charges when he drives. Since he's undersized for an NBA PF this can become an issue if he is asked to play SF at times.

A lot of Pistons fans want him but Im still not sold. Watched him a lot this year in the Big 10 and not sure if his 3pt shot is going to translate to the NBA. Look at that release, the ball never goes above his nose with a low arch. Moving the line back and being guarded by real athletes is going to be a problem for his shot. Bully balling through guys to the hole isn't really going to work in the NBA either. I don't see Keegan being a bust because of his versatility & IQ but I'd rather take a chance on a higher ceiling player as I don't think Murray to the Pistons moves the needle much.
