Great Video. Just bought a lightly used John Deere E140 with a snow plow on it. It came with the deck off. It wasn't obvious how to put the deck back on. Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Very straight forward and clear explanation unlike the semi worthless operator's manual that ships with the tractor. It's guys like you that make youtube great. Thanks again.
I've had my E140 for three or four years now and was always afraid I would not be able to remove the mower deck because of the electric PTO. Thanks to your video, I was able to remove it clean it (about 1-1/2 hours; the deck washing system only did so much), and reinstall it. The only problem I encountered was that I was not strong enough to get the spring-loaded pulley for the belt to move far enough to get the belt back onto the PTO. I had to use a vise pair of vise grips on the pulley's belt guard, then it was easy. Now that I know how easy it is, I'll be doing it much more often. Thank you!
Hi Steve, I’m glad this was helpful enough for you to do it yourself!! If you take your time all is fine:) Thank you for watching and the kind comment. Please give this a like, subscribe and tell your friends about my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your videos. I just watched again the videos on the d140 deck removal and belt replacement. Both are very good and answered all my questions. Keep it up.
Glad it helped! Thank you for watching and the kind comment. Please give this video a like and share my channel to help it grow. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you. So helpful. I wish I could do it that fast. Mine don’t come off as easy. Rolling belt off is easy. Mine is too tight to roll back on as easily as yours.
Hmm, are you using a OEM belt? (origanal equipment manufacturer). Check out this video at the 1:17 mark. This may help you next time. czcams.com/video/z9v2et3FelU/video.html.
the trick to sliding the belt off the front pulley is to put a 15mm closed end wrench on the tensioner pulley and turn clockwise until it gives enough slack to take the belt off. do the same to put it back on!
