song: • Vinsten (instrumental)
note!!
only works on fl studio native plugins. there are some sampling workarounds.
i would argue though that fl studio native plugins carries most of the every day guys needs nowadays... so much to offer
synth preset is "Keys Brass Buttons" in stock plugin minisynth
ask in the comments if you got any questions i'd be happy to sort out
Much love and gratitude as always
pro tip: if you want to change the color of existing notes, highlight the notes, click the color you want, and then do the shortcut Alt+C
thank you i was looking to color groups of notes, had no idea until now
avenge
you can also select all the notes of the selected color by using the shortcut Shift+C !!
it's just so much work, I hope one day a future DAW will make a better method....
@@mechwarreir2 nah bro you just have what we call laziness. If you can't press two keys to make a simple action, then you're not ready to use FLStudio.
Im impressed by how much
Synthet knows about FL Studio.
One of the most underrated music
channels on YT for sure.
nah knowing is pretty easy knowing how to use it tho is the hard part everyone can just read the scrip manual and just make a video on it like they knew whats happening but to make a video in the format he does is to have the knowledge on how to put it in use thats why his stuff is pretty impressive and catchy
not for long though, he was literally 3k subscribers one or two weeks ago
why did you write it like a haiku poem
@@olek0 He is not a commenter, he is a _writer._
@@olek0 I'm impressed by how
Much you know about this stuff
So underrated
I don't even know what software this is or really anything about music, but I click on synthet's videos so fast
*that's pretty wholesome man, i hope you do good on everything you do man.*
fl studio
@@fastslow002false it is Audacity
Dude, its fl studio
It's the OG fl studio. No problem bro if you didn't know music production 😅😅
Holy, i did not know specific colored notes could be bent without altering other notes at the same time. Very, very useful.
That adds a whole ahh dimension in FL that no other DAW has
@@tenesinsixtilievMost daws have MPE which is the more modern version of this
@@LWmusik nope, only fl studio exists
It's important to call out this only works for instruments native to FL. Slide notes do not work for 3rd party plugins like Serum or NI Kontakt or anything else. So for pitch bending those instruments, you typically need to use the Channel Pitch knob on the top right of the plugin near the digits box of where it's mapped on the mixer, and you have to automate that.
An alternative is to convert 3rd party instruments into a sample-based DirectWave instrument.
There's a free VST called BENDY which you can use as a workaround. Works great with Vital. You need to use one copy of that vst for each midi channel you'd want to bend, so it's not as seamless as using color-coded midi on a single pattern, but it works.
Same goes for a lot of other DAWs as well. I love trying to convert knowledge from FL to other DAWs, but this one is mostly FL-native
@@CrappyPastry99 Yep, though I have seen something similar on Bitwig. The making-of video of Donkong - Simulation uses individual note bending for the lead, and I had been looking for something similar for years, until this video where I found Bendy
@@ahreuwuInteresting! the DAW I use (Mixcraft 9) has a pitch bend wheel but it doesn't work very nicely unless you have a synth with a large bend range
0:46 WHY IT SOUNDS SO COOL OMGGGG!!!
you know you made a good tutorial when people think its entertaining enough to watch without any intent of touching the software its for while still being effective at teaching them.
legit been using fl for 3 years and didnt know changing the color meant it only slid one note, thank you so much!
Been using it since 2009. And I'm FLOORED. I love how much there is to learn about this program
@@christoliver2065 damn unc
3 years is short
Bro ive been using it since 2016 and i didn't know this shit
@@kaisouseru2466 yeah ik but its still crazy to me
Just 3 days ago I was looking for a video showing how to glide chords, and 3 days later you share this, crazy, thanks brother ❤
These are some of the best tutorials I've seen, they're short, easy to follow, and fun to listen to
I've been using FL for over a year now and I never knew how to do this - I always just cloned the instrument and then had both play at the same time, sliding independantly. this is so, so much better and you earned a sub for teaching me this, ty!
This guy at 0:45 made me laugh more than he should have
eeerEargh
Kinda sounds like that sound in deltarune when you try to buy 300 CD Bagels
Mhm
If “😏” was a sound
It kinda reminded me of Waluigi idk why
your videos are refreshing. i started making music like 10 years ago on and off, gave up for a while. your vids came up in my feed and now im jumping back into it. cheers!
I don't make music at all and I have no idea why this was in my recommended, but... this is a really good balance of education, tutorial, and entertainment.
this is a game changer. thank you so much. i've never realized you could color code notes and glide them individually. INSANE TIP!
I been using FL for a decade pretty much everyday for hours. You are teaching me sooo much shit I had no idea about dude.
These tutorials make me actually happy watching! Also, we don't even have to ask for full versions of the songs because you're playing around with songs that are already out!
Okay, this is the best channel on CZcams. So much useful information in a such small amount of time, all done to the beat, being entartaining and pleasing not just to watch but also to listen to, these videos are great!
It's little things like this I tend to overlook in Fl studio. Half a decade of sound design using this DAW and I'm only just now finding out that color coordinating notes in the piano role allow them to function independently of one another. I'm glad this video found me as not only did I learn something new and game changing, but it was catchy, simple, effective and easy to understand.
Bro... These are the tutorials I need!!!! Thanks so much for these!!!
I remember a time it was very difficult to find production tuts on yt, what a time to be alive...
Simple, easy to understand video that's intuitive and useful? You've earned yourself a subscriber, buddy.
Makes me wanna pick up FL again. Short, simple and oh so sweet to listen to. Time to watch some more tutorials.
holy shit. this channel has some of the highest quality production value i've ever seen. keep it up man
you've taught me more about productively using this daw than years and years of struggle producing ty synthet
and if you want to manage multiple notes to a different color, select them, set your preferred note color on the top left, alt+c.
I absolutely love how you make these :) thanks
Learned so much in 1 min and 8 seconds than I could have anywhere else 🤣🤣
You have made every other fl tutorial channel irrelevant to me. Straight to the point tutorials that respect my time and have a step by step visual guide too? Your content is amazing dawg 🤘🏼
Dude, THANK YOU! I've been using fl for 5 years and never figured out how to do this. I assumed it wasn't even possible. But this looks very exciting, gonna try out!
Pitch bending along with color coding is the combo i was looking for
Pitch bends are such a heavenly element of music. Especially in a melody. Glad you released this! Now I know how to make mine better!
I’ve needed that color code thing for awhile THANK YOU
im an ableton user and im not even sure half of these tutorials will work on there but the videos are so fun i cant help it
no one's doing it like you keep it up king
Didn't know about the color coding feature.
Thank you brother! :D
best slide key tutorial, never drops the flow throughout, to the point
When I added a slide note below the very last bass note in my song it immediately made the entire ending sound more complete.
i've been wanting to get into making music and those little tutorials are so fun and informative compared to a lot of 3 hours infodump videos lol, thank you so much
After I found your channel I went from wanting to get into FL, to experimenting nearly every day
Your tutorials are incredible man
Holy you make such high quality videos its insane. Easily my favorite FL studio channel I've watched! Thanks for all the help!
I DIDNT KNOW YOU COULD DO THIS!!!! I was so upset that I couldn't change the slide to only work with one note in particular, this opens up so much for me thank you!
Gentlemen, I want to acknowledge the hard work put in by this individual. He is knowledgeable and generously shares his wisdom with us. People like him help others become the best versions of themselves, which ultimately contributes to the evolution of music as a whole. For that, I applaud you brother. Keep being amazing!
The background music is a masterpiece
This is what I like about FL. Other DAWs are so complacent about this types of features.
This video made me bend myself to the funky music. Another awesome, hip-shaking tutorial!
you're the best bro
@@synthet7 no u ❤️
Tysm! I needed this. I didn't know that you could slide specific notes!
I learned this by accident one time!!
The most fun thing is that each of those sixteen colors are MIDI channels ✌🏽 so if you ever work with MIDI instrumentation and events, you'll know how to handle it now!
I dont understand anything that's going on here but I stayed for the music.
the bass at 0:15 is sooo satisfying i can't stop replaying it
oh thank the lords of music you saved me time lool
I've been trying to figure out how you were supposed to pitch select notes in a chord on my own for so long. Who know you just needed to change the colour :P
Your tutorials are a jam in themselves
Just found you and HOLY CRAP you make videos over EVERYTHING IM LOOKING FOR THANK YOU
Normally I would block channels who use clickbait thumbnails instead of support them, even if they are good, but damn I love the straight to the point and short videos. Subscribed. Even clicked the like button which is very rare that I do.
thanks for the kind words!
this channel was recommended to me like a few weeks ago and it's honestly golden
thanks yt algorithm
The power of slide notes in fl, is what makes me avoid almost all non-native vst especially for leads, good short video on them.
The Fitness Gram Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed after you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start.
You’re an amazing discovering !!!
I have been plateauing on learning fl studio , and you’re marking bookmarks that I don’t have to think of myself.
Mille Merci 🙏🏽
Many thanks
Synthet might be the angel I asked for to teach me something about Fl
My god, I've tried scouring the internet for hours and never understood what the little triangle did or how it works. You just explained it in under a minute and it all makes sense.
a tutorial thats pleasing to watch is rare
your tutorial format is actually somewhat revolutionary.
Another short and great tutorial, I was exactly wondering how people actually have these slides transitions:)
Thank you!
I love your videos, it's like storytelling about FL Studio with music
i dont even make music but damn this is so fun and
entertaining to watch, it scratches my brain
bro your tutorials are life changing and you are a genius
that bass sounds so good
I never thought I'd find perfect tutorials. but here we are.
this is gonna change my whole creativity
i wish all tutorials were this cool
I'm not even interested in music but I like your channel
0:12 I can't stop thinking about how good this melody is
BRING BACK THE ODD BEAT VIDEO
The streets (the comments) are saying your videos are really good so i'm subscribing
This would’ve been useful to know like 10 years ago for me, thanks for the wisdom brotha💯
already knew the color trick.. !! thanks for supporting our community!
bro casually taught me everything I need to know in 1 minute wtf, youre the GOAT, SUBBED, (I even subbed you with my second acc)
I saw a video on this a while back and I couldn’t find it again. Thank you cuz I needed this
Awesome tutorial bro
I just appreciate that the entire video is on beat
music cover are so great! thx. it remind me of "how to turn a sphere into itself", idk why, but i love!
you have a lot to learn about turning things outside in
he drops bangers on how to drop bangers
You can also use this trick with the electric guitar plugin in FL (I forgot the name of it), you can get some really fun sounding riffs out of it
For fl studio mobile guys : you can do is as multiple channels and cutting of the slide time on the automation
love the flow throughout the video! i don't even have FL studio, this was just nice to watch
Dude, you just totally changed my approach to composition. Thank you.
Wow, I 100% assumed the colors were just for a nice aesthetic look and to make things more organized, I would have never thought they would actually be useful, damn- 🤯
they also act as midi channels. useful for kontakt instances where you have multiple libraries in one
Thanks for the Fl Studio Tutorial!
I was trying to understand how those work for a good while. THANK YOU!!!
Never knew about color coding. You taught me something new. Thank you.
holy shit ive been using fl for 4 years and this is the first time i learned this
Wow, i knew about sliding this way, but color coding is a game changer
rad tip!
BRO I WAS SERCHING THIS FOR ETERNITY, THANKS YOUUUUUUUUUU!
also to add, Note Velocity, Note fine pitch, and Note Panning also get affect by these changes underneath your notes :)
i did not know colours can seperate them thank you!
I didn't know color coding changed if the slide activated or not, thats so cool!
I had no idea that colors works like this. Gamechanger, bro! Thanks.
Oh boy! Can't wait to use this one in GarageBand!!
so cool how you lined up the music and the tutorial
Loved the cat call at 0:46 lol
