    I have been considering this pattern but hesitated because the band looked difficult. Thanks to this video, I feel more confident and plan to purchase the Henley top.

      You can do it! It's not the typical henley placket, but a neckband instead. Let us know how it goes.. happy sewing! ~K

    I consider myself a confident sewist, but this neckband has been intimidating me. I am gonna tackle it now! Thank you!

      This neckband is not hard at all.. we promise! It's much easier than sewing a regular placket especially on knits. Let us know how it goes! Happy Sewing! ~K

    Excellent video & so clear! Thank you for making this. I decided to purchase the pattern during the release sale, last minute, lol. I’m SO glad I did! It looks much easier than I was anticipating. 😄 What a clever idea for a Henley.

    Hi thank you for the awesome video, does the same method apply to the dockside mens henley and polo. Could you please make a video showing how to construct it

    • @LoveNotions
      @LoveNotions  Před rokem

      I believe there is a placket video embedded inside the Dockside/Driftwood pattern - but if there isn't we can totally address that in a future video!

    When you say straight stitch the neckband to attach it to the neck opening, is that a true straight stitch or a knit lightning or narrow zig-zag? I’m still learning to sew with knits and I thought I should only use stretch stitches.

    • @LoveNotions
      @LoveNotions  Před rokem +1

      You can do either. On something vertical like a placket that does not need to stretch around the body, you can use a straight stitch. The placket does not need to stretch during wear so the stitches won't pop. Hope that helps! ~K

    I am winging it, I don't have a pattern. I have removed the collar from a knit sweater. Does anyone know how deep the V should be, and how long the trim is for the placket? Thanks!

    • @LoveNotions
      @LoveNotions  Před 8 měsíci

      It's hard to say, since there are various factors in play. The size you're sewing, the fabric, how deep YOU prefer it to be, etc. For a conservative V, having it somewhere in the top half of the armscye is probably a good starting point. For the length, I would measure the neckline and add a few inches, baste it on and see what you think. I think most plackets are about 3-4" from the top to the bottom. But you can adjust to your preferences, of course!
      Good luck!! ~J

    Off-topic but... How do you Americans know what 3/8'' inch is? Are you really sharp and can do the math or is it just always marked as fractions on your rulers?

    • @LoveNotions
      @LoveNotions  Před 3 lety

      Hi Houna. In the US, we use the imperial system. Our rulers and measuring tapes are measured in inched so 3/8" is a pretty standard measurement for us. If you use the metric system, 3/8" equates roughly to 1cm. ~K

    • @elroyfromny
      @elroyfromny Před rokem

      Imperial rulers are marked in fractions.
