Socceroos still look like a really good squad even with most of the squad being second choice and against quality opposition. The young Aussie goalkeeper deserved man of the match, only conceded to some really tough set pieces. Good game by Ecuador as well, probably should be scoring a bit more against a lot of second choice players though. Great series of games, what a joy that was to watch.
Ecuador didnât have the best players either, there are 5 key players injured.
Shocking arrogance in this comment. Ecuador was missing key players including its top forwards. Note Ecuador has a new coach and tactics were completely different between games. That being said, Australia is a fantastic team and I wish them success with its young, promising team!
@@vladyg8 Ecuador bro couldn't beat a b grade Australia. Ecuador aren't good enough that's the truth.
Joe gauci good keeper
Awful take. Ecuador also played a young team with plenty of âBâ grade players.
Plus Australia were at home.
To be honest not a great performance from either team but great for some young players to make their debut for both sides.
no calls, that obvious pen, the foul at the end that shouldve been a red, ref was in his bag this game.
good game Ecuador though, good test for us, and some of our more inexperienced players.
Yeah, its great Graham is giving game time to the youngsters. That will defenenently pay off in the future.
relax its a friendly
Borello was offside by a mile too lol
â@@ZaneTaylorMusic the ball hot the goal post, how is he offside?
@@ZaneTaylorMusicdo u know how offside works? Lmao
Shouldâve put on Nestory for the last 10 mins, no one else did much in that time. Hopefully Garang can get back to his old self, looks lost on confidence.
Him not getting playing time for hearts has ruined his confidence, he should of stayed in Alegaue for 1 or 2 more seasons to have even more confidence and growth then go to a bigger league like the prem
Agreed, Garang is second guessing himself now. Just don't do an ACL and he will be fine đ
Proud of the boys
Thought the Subway XI were outplayed last night. Moments of bread, but not enough filling.
Yep, thought they might get an extra at the end. Alas no cookie.
What is this ref they definitely payed him
Our goal (Socceroos) was offside and he let it go.
Well the referee in the last game gave Australia two offside goals. And the Australian goal in this game couldâve been given offside also. SoâŠ
Oh yeah, millions swapped hands for this one.
Who is "they"? Subwayroos goal was likely offside. Not sure anyone benefited
Ecuador Man Of The Match - Thomas Deng
Well what was he supposed to do instead?
Idiot comment
Can someone explain the rules to me. Was borello offside when goodwin kicked it or does it not count off the post?
Probably offside and ref/lino didn't notice it. All happens very quickly. And no Video Assistant Referee at this match.
It was a terrible non-call, he was a mile offside!
He was offside.
He was offside but the linesman and referee both missed it.
Definately offside looking at the camera angle at 0:40. Even if the keeper touched it because it was a save it would still be offside.
Ganamoosss!! Somos Los Mejoresss!! Vamos Ecuadorr!! En Junio hay una nueva fecha FIFA De Selecciones, Vamos Ecuador a buscar a un paĂs europeo para poderles Ganar!! đȘđšđȘđšâœïžâœïž
I guess no VAR?
Socceroos goal was offside.
Itâs only a friendly.
@@danieleyre8913 dumbest reply. The laws still apply.
What a terrible ref - definitely involved in corruption
Itâs a friendly
@@wtfistonicwater1120 and corruption can still happen
@@wtfistonicwater1120 Asian refs are known for corruption and if you saw the match you would understand
Yeah probably should of got a penalty before, but oh well, only a friendly, its all good.
its a friendly match
Borello was a mile offside, anyone with their eyes painted on could see that
I saw it straight away. Where was the VAR on that one.
Actually went to the game last night despite it being at Marvel. Decent game, thought the Aussies were the better team in the first half and Ecuador significantly the better in the second, thought the referee didn't put up with any of the nonsense associated with the modern game and allowed vigorous and robust tackles to be made also played the advantage rule on various occasions. ensuring the game flowed. Had the misfortune to purchase tickets behind the goal, with the advertising hoardings obscuring the bye line from our angle, been to grounds all over the world and never seen that. Forced to stand most of the game because the people in front were. Stewards didn't seem to care and had to put up with what can only be described as a Public nuisance with a Megaphone supported by a small group of children chanting 'Aussies are the best' ' Aussies are green and gold' 'Ole Ole Ole Aussie ' plus F--k off Sydney for some reason only beknown to himself. To top it all $10.90 for a can of beer, $261.60 a slab. Also I know the game evolves and different tactics/fads come and go but if you place a defender on both posts whilst defending a corner, there's a good chance of the ball being cleared, perhaps to one or two forwards on the half way line who were keeping opposition players occupied and freeing up the box for the Keeper to CATCH* the ball and distribute it. *Yes in the olden days Keepers would pluck an old muddy ball out of the air, clutch it to their chest and set an attack up with a quick throw or kick. However the game has moved on since then.
Bring in VAR for friendlies, the Ref in both games was abysmal ,it spoiled it as a spectacle.
VAR has been just as bad if not worse in some cases! There's times where the team is asking them to go look at VAR but some refs choose not to.
@@angelomaraboli993 VAR has worked 90% of the time. we hear about the shockers, but people forgot how often refs get things wrong without video review systems... VAR while not perfect, is a must at the professional level
Itâs just a friendly!
What is it about Australians in that they canât understand what a friendly in football is and take it seriously (like itâs a âtest matchâ in some other sport)?
Var is ruining the world game.
@@paulkyriakopoulos3444 And bad refereeing doesn't.?
what happened to putting a man on the post on corners? seems like a no brainer

I went to this game
Did Subway lose?
They're the Australian Socceroos, not the subway Socceroos. Call them the Australian Socceroos sponsored by subway. It's like I don't have a national team to follow anymore.
I don't know his name but the left back absolute had no confident and experience of facing big team. Hopefully he can improve on his skill a bit more. Well played by the young Aussie goalie
Nah Jordan Bos did well, with experience he will get much better
Yeah a little, but it was good Graham let him play, the match didn't really matter either way. Youngsters are the future.
He had a shocker to be fair. Got done every time. But if it was a dead rubber then good to blood then now.
Subway Socceroos is bad but it could have been worst, imagine Sexyland Socceroos?
So Ecuador with a penalty but not Australia? Someone needs to look into this.
Itâs a friendly, mate
No, itâs not the friendly I care about, just other games. If something like this happens, even in a friendly, it could be happening elsewhere. Itâs still an international game, maybe ref standards just need to be higher.
I think Australia were unlucky not to get a foul and free kick. But it wasnât so clear cut as the Ecuadorian defender was initially going for the ball but stopped and the Australian player ran into him. A lot of referees wouldâve given it and I think it shouldâve been given (as the Ecuadorian didnât render up going for the ball), but I can see why the referee played on as the foul was unintentional.
The Australian foul was a clear cut penalty.
@@ReefzYT exactly correct bro.
@@danieleyre8913 Unintentional or not, a foul is a foul. I thought the same but any foul, wether intentional or not, is always given. I mean, people fall over in the penalty box without getting clipped and there are penalties, so when you get body slammed there should be one too. I stand by the idea that every team sport needs TMOs (VARs) who are constantly checking things, they can interrupt the referee and change decisions, we donât need the referee going to that little box all the time. In fact, because the little box is halfway across the field they go to it less then they should. I think FIFA should be looking to sport leagues such as the NRL as an example of how to referee.
Anyone saying "it's just a friendly" mustn't realise that friendlies affect FIFA rankings which affects your seeding in tournaments. So unless you want to be pooled with teams stronger than you in group stages or playoffs then yeah.. its not "just a friendly"
What tournament looks at ranking when they seed competitions?
@@danieleyre8913 world cup, asian cup
@@aliati8377 Okay it determines the pot that teams end up in for the World Cup.
But what are the chances that Australia wonât end up in the 4th pot? And the teams in the 3rd pot arenât usually that strong either.
In any case; friendly games donât contribute much to ranking.
Australia is the best
At what bro. Certainly not football.

what a terrible ref.. same as the last game no?
Incredibly inconsistent and just making some horrendous calls.
yeh this time round the socceroos didnt have the ref on their side. fair play
Australia goal was literally offside what are you on about đ
Yes the refereeing was pretty poor in both games. A lot of poor calls and inconsistencies. And two Australian goals last game and the Australian goal this game should not have been awarded as they were offside.
But hey itâs only a friendly.
Am I the only one that saw that Australia's goal was offside? Commentators didn't even mention it.
Wow think your right
Different if it had of been the other way around they would have been screaming
I thought it was offside when I first saw it. But no it didnât surprise me that the commentators didnât mention it as like most Australian commentators; they are highly biased and frankly it wouldnât surprise me if they didnât actually notice it was offside.
lucky it was just a friendly otherwise the ref should be booted for that no call
45th min penalty would be 2-0

Wow! The whole of Asia just got punished in the space of 24 hours by the South Americans đłđ„Žđ
Terrible ref and even worse Andy Harperâs commentary
Subway Socceroos? Nahhhh đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
The Aussie goal scorer was offside at the time of the original shot. Just terrible officiating, but does it surprise anyone when we all know FIFA is one of the most corrupt organisations around?
Ref was good, Aussies played dirty... really dirty
Nothing South Americans teams havenât done before and got away with , anyway ref was terrible lol
What the actual fuck is wrong with you?
They always do ,
calm down friendo, ecuador had 13 fouls to 10, but you cant blame anyone since both sides were playing super aggresive (atleast in the first half, not sure what aus was doing for the second) and for the argument of playing dirty that "yellow" was more than enough to make it mutual.
However
in the end lets not spread hate, Both countries had a win and both took turns with hating on the ref đ, ignore the salty people from both countries and look forward to the future, both were good games played by both teams.

LOL. The Socceroos have not been a clean and sportsmanlike team since the mid 1990s.
