I've been hoping MVP would come to UFC. The man is an entertainer and fun to watch.
He's been avoiding it for so many years tat I didn't believe it when I heard that he's signed. Easy can 'competition' for more money (which makes sense for a prize fighter) in lower divisions is gonna cost him in the UFC.

The takedown defense accuracy of 100% for MVP is incorrect. He has been taken down several times, in the fight against Storley he was taken down at least 5 times and totally controlled.
Douglas Lima took him down 3 times in 2 fights.
Actually the grappling is not his area of expertise.

Go ask Dan Hooker how that goes. Not every great fighter is in the UFC. Thought we already learned this when WEC, PRIDE, and Strikeforce fighters came over and took over divisions. Folks used to be on those videos to saying “these guys ain’t fighting nobody. Won’t do it in the UFC”.

Holland and MVP are so similar, tall long talented black strikers who both have so many highlight reels, but there’s a huge difference in the guys they’re highlighting, Kevin Holland- Geoff Neal, Ponzinibio, Buckley, Anthony Hernandez, Alex Oliveira, Tim Means, Jacarae, Michael Chiesa. MVP KO’d nobody’s, not one famous highlight, that don’t mean he’s not an outstanding striker, he also fights a lot like Wonderboy who gave Kevin problems, but not nearly the same. Holland all day imo.

The loss was to Logan Storley, and both guys did well, but Storley was able to wrestle MVP into just defending. I want to say it was a Split Decision and basically came down to whether you valued the damage MVP did on the feet at the start of the rounds or Storley's control of MVP for the latter half of the rounds; MVP was too lanky for Storley to take him down properly (higher head) and do damage.
Venom Page took a lot of damage in the BKFC fight. I think he will struggle.
Henry why didn't you bring up Mike Perry vs MVP? That fight shows the Dog in MVP and personally as a Kevin Holland Fan I'm worried unlike Wonderboy, MVP is more critical on where his strikes land with Vicious intent also coming from BKFC MVP has that Dog still so I'm a fan of both, but anyone curious about MVP go watch that Bare Knuckle Fight vs Perry.

@@MattPowers209 exactly a lot of professional fighters thought MVP won that fight, plus its MVP's most recent fight, a lot of fighters say BKFC just wanted to save their poster boy even though Mike Perry is a DOG, their fight was one of my favorites outside the UFC only thing that comes to mind is when Mighty Mouse fought Moraes the second time that KO was Poetry.

I was going to bet MVP w/o even thinking but after going thru some things i don’t know now. He hasn’t fought someone with the reach & height of Kevin. He’s fought a ton of cans-little white dudes who look like lightweights. One of those white dudes took a dive. He didn’t even get hit it just breezed his ear. His hands are straight down at sides -not up an inch. Lima was the most durable smart fighter and KOd him. Then you watch him fight Perry in BKFC and Perry almost knocked him out in first round and Perry took his shots and landed quite a bit on MVP. If you watch that fight you can tell if there’s 2 more rounds Perry would finish him. So point is I’m not sure now that MVP stands a chance in UFC even tho he’s fun to watch. Kevin is going to tag him with that long reach & catch him because he’s just as lanky. Kevin wins the ground if it goes there. Kevin looks good & in shape for this fight too. I just doubt now that MVPs games and flashy won’t work on Kevin who’s long and can reach him and his hands are low. MVP is very accurate tho and quick and seems to hit hard-you can hear it snap on the face. He just hasn’t had a guy that matches him in height and has longer reach so his best moves of getting away with hands down could be an issue. Where i come from MVP fights street fighting. I know Perry is a durable wrecking ball but he shouldn’t be able to handle MVP like that & he handled him pretty easily and if that was UFC fight i think Perry would’ve won. But is Holland too beat up and can he take those fast snappy power punches,not sure he falls for the knees or kicks but he’ll get tagged a few times. Hmmm what to do
