Albertsons Semi Roll Over Crash on Freeway!

- Albertsons Semi Roll Over Crash on Freeway! Not often you see us use an airbag recovery system for a major rollover, but man do they come in handy. Since the trailer was compromised and not strong like a container, it was really the only option here to bring everything up loaded. The only other way is to offload the trailer, which would take hours upon hours and could ruin a lot of the perishable load of food.
Super Dave and Alex responded to this job close to 5am, and made the call to bring me in with the air bags. Normally we can upright any container and most trailers just using straps, but once the roof or an entire wall support is gone, then it's game over. Even with multiple straps, you have a very very high risk of them tearing through the roof during the upright especially with a full 40,000lb load.
Once I arrived, I saw the guys had everything rigged and setup and ready for us to immediately throw the bags under. Even with bags, it's still easy to destroy a trailer as you try to get them snug and all the way under the load. Once they were setup, Alex and Dave used the rotators with straps to lift at the same time as the bags, which distributed tension evenly across the trailer. Then, Castro used our wrecker to "spike" the front of the tractor while using a second line to gently catch it. This allows the entire tractor trailer to come over smoothly as one unit without being slammed over.
The tractor was then split from the trailer, and both units were towed separately back to the customer's base to offload. Overall a crazy difficult job made to look easy with the right equipment and operators.

You know the job is getting serious when the Pepe's beer truck shows up. Great job by everyone involved, and an extra shout-out to Josh for all your hard work editing these videos.
Haha yes, was literally a used beer truck before we bought it and sent it to 10 West to convert it to this beauty.
Impressive technical operation executed in minimum time. What really impresses me is that the whole crew knew what they were doing and why, and they know how to do it professionally with the least amount of drama. The use of air bags to save time and cargo was perfect. That was awesome to watch. Thanks for a great video.
Thank you! It certainly helps we get so many of these and all know the routine once we show up. Being in sync allows us all to work independently to achieve the same goal. No one stands around in the dark.
Alex made a great comment: I paraphase, other people would have off loaded first taking 3 or 4 hours, we can have the road cleared in the same time. It is fasinating to see how the right equipment works with the people who know how to use it. Very interesting. Great job guys and great editing Josh. Read the comments looking for someone to say he could have done it with fewer trucks etc.
Those comments mean nothing to me because I know a lot of big players in the game, and all the best would use the same. It's always the haters with no channels who say that. Like sure I could have used one less truck but would it be as fast and efficient? We pride on having the fastest times to clear a scene and it's noticed by all law enforcement on scene. That's why in my videos they never hover around wondering when we'll finish they know to just post up in their car and watch the magic happen.
@@PepesTowingService So true. It seems that there are really two objectives; clean up the wreckage and clear the road with minimal disruption of traffic. Your company does both. Incidentally, both with personality.
Great video!!!! Hello from Greece 🇬🇷 👍
@@PepesTowingService Exactly, nice use of the bags and wide straps to keep from bending that box.
Rotating, towing, and now traffic control. Man needs a raise!
And video recording lol
This is one of your VERY best video's to date. Your skill as a video creator, however, takes a backseat to the *excellence* of your crew on hand. By that I mean Dave. He knew exactly what to do every step of the way and everyone working with him knows that. Everyone knew their part and did that very well but, at no point in time did anyone question Dave's direction. This is why I love watching him work. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every job. This video is Pepe"s excellence at it's very best!! All of you be safe out there!!
Always appreciated Mr Mack! And ya Dave's skills are at the top, it's why I'm able to sleep comfortably at night knowing he's in charge. Unless of course they need me from my sleep for another truck lol but thanks again!
I totally agree. This whole crew blows my mind and Josh’s editing is off the charts.
Alex Josh Dave Joe and the rest of PEPE’S , awesome video, no one gets a free ride every one works their butts off to get the job done! Everyone is PROUD to show how Pepe’s operates! Thanks for sharing and being the best in the business! Kevin
Thanks for watching Kevin, appreciate the kind words!
All of your crew on this job worked well together, just like the other jobs that I have watched. They are level-headed and work to make sure the work is done correctly and does not damage anything. They also treat the equipment like it is their own. Alex should be made a supervisor when he is on the job because he is calm and cool under pressure to get work completed. But when you are there Josh you do not even act like you are in charge, that is what makes PEPE's a great company. Tell your DAD hello from New Hampshire!!!! Overall truly impressed with the knowledge that your guys bring to the table.
Thank you! You make a great point about the rank and seniority. I never walk around commanding. This job, there are 100 different ways to get it upright safely. Sometimes my way is best, sometimes Alex or Dave have the better idea. Good leadership is working well together, not barking orders.
Its the first time of me hearing "News Crew " on one of Pepe's recoveries. Alex and crew, Superb workmanship.
They are always hanging around, like flies to a turd.
Yep, I heard the "helicopter choir" singing overhead for awhile. But I don't think they stayed. Probably found a police pursuit to follow.
Facts, we make the local news all the time here lol @@colinl9018
News vans are in several videos. They don't usually introduce themselves and grab a cameo appearance. like this camera man did.Why not ??? He never gets to be in their videos.
You often start your videos with a "hello gentlemen" I just want to bring to your attention that that us ladies are watching you too and are as well a part of the industry.
I took that comment as he was addressing the people that were there at the scene at moment, saying hello to them.
Props to You, Dave and Alex on this awesome video Josh…! Sweet & nice-looking studio computer setup you have at your home too…! Love the little Halk guy you have there…! Awesome drone shots too… Including the shot of the drone itself… didn’t expect that at all…! I researched the accident and saw your trucks in the picture in the report on seen too which was cool to see… the report stated. “The accident was reported shortly before 4 a.m. when the big rig overturned after apparently trying to swerve past a stalled vehicle near Lankershim Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.”
My thinking too. Josh has a cool studio.
Quick correction, that's my work office setup haha not home. I'm family guy at home which is why I have to setup my office to the max to get the most amount done as possible. And thanks! The job was a big one that made all the local channels.
@@PepesTowingService Absolutely Love all of your content Josh no matter where you office is...! IMO you office extends to many places... You're ALWAYS working no matter where you're at...A big part of your office is out in the field i.e. on the highways (providing recoveries for the unfortunate folks with accidents), at the shop with all that goes on there, at you home / office preparing the awesome videos you provide to all of us so we can really understand what a life of a recovery tow truck driver and crew is like... This wouldn't be passable if it were for YOU and the videos you provide...! It's a very dangerous job and you guys do it very well... Day & Night, is all kinds of conditions...! I'd personally like to say a big THANK YOU for what you all do...!!! It amazes me that there are good folks like yourself in the world to do what you do...! It's very much appreciated! Thank You...!
That's a hell of a setup Josh. As usual, I'll be watching for the tour of that set-up. Guys did a great job out there on this one. 👌
It took me years of trail and error to perfect my setup. I'm really looking forward to showing everyone
Fantastic piece of work!!! It amazes me how much equipment you have and that most employees know how to work it. 🇨🇦
Thanks!
Great video, as always. You can sure tell the effort that is put into producing your videos, they are always excellent. Nice to see Dave's rotator out in the sun....beautiful.
Yes his truck is a show stopper, thanks thanks I really do pour my soul into these videos.
Love ❤️ the full videos. You guys work way harder then most people think. Great job Pepe's!
Thanks! The longer videos take a lot more time to edit but I really like the feedback from people loving it.
When I ask, you got enough help there? It's because the answer is always, Yes, Yes you Do! It's amazing.
One thing we def aren't lacking in is trucks as you notice lol
Really appreciate the effort that Alex does to record his recoveries. I'm sure it would be easier for him not to bother ( like Dave) but he seems to be doing more of the videos than Josh and I really enjoy him ( as well as you Josh 😀
YES! The fact that he's my age and into technology helps sooooo much because as I get slammed with office work and am able to send him into the field, you guys can now see those jobs that otherwise wouldn't be filmed.
No matter how good or bad the jobs were going, there was always something nice about working into Sunrise. 🥰🇺🇸🇬🇧
For me personally, it's that the video quality gets better with sun light lmao
Full 80,000 lbs load. I never know you could use air bags like that. I learned something new today.
Yes, air bags aren't used often here but they are amazing at what they could do.
As usual one hell of a mess sorted out with lots of skill and no drama! Pepe's RULES! Congrats to you all! Great video!
What would L.A. freeways be without Pepe's towing?
Alex and Dave Getting It Done As usual Right Guys Right Equipment = Job well Done!
Alex and Dave =#1 team. Amazing work you guys.
Again a very interesting video, a lot of none truck drivers that are your viewer's may not realize that the driver has to do the job within a certain amout of hours and when getting held up can cost them money in fines and lose of pay. good job as always and you do it with a good heart . Just watching you clean up and I think you could use a road sweeper truck just a small one, you would still have to move the big stuff off the road ..stay safe and well
Awesome crew. BEST IN THE BUSINESS IN MY OPINION. I was a commercial driver from the middle 70's to 2008. Have observed more than my share of situations like these and have followed how they are handled and your crew is off the charts.😊
Another awesome performance 🤓🙋♂️👍
Boy yje whole crew on this one-Alex/night time Dave/ Castro-and Josh of course. Then Coffee Joe shows up. You all just roll!
Saw you guys on this job on the news. First thought was “a new video!”
And Pepe’s blows past one hundred thousand
Congrats guys !!!
Great video Josh. What a team you have there. They work so well together and no drama, just get the job done, and excellent equipment doesn't hurt either. Well done.
You are doing a great job with the videos 👍
Nice seeing the bags in use. (Don't over-react - it's just an observation!!!)
Working so close to an active roadway and with all the other hazards....not so easy, great team, stay safe men.
I'm from Iowa and I love watching your work and your crew is awesome and on top of everything. Stay safe and a big thank you for your service out there
I really enjoyed you (Josh) popping in with the explanation. Love your videos as always and the merch. Your editing and dedication to the craft is inspiring and I hope you don't ever feel like it goes unnoticed. Stay safe out there!

Great job guys. Josh thanks for the quick insight into your studio. My friend you don't need to tell us that you are a perfectionist, that is obvious by the way Pepp's go about their work and the quality of your videos should get an Oscar. 😁Stay safe all.
Man Pepe's does not disappoint!! 🔥🔥
What an absoloute Unit you guys are, so impressive to see how you all operate together
Man! That was a serious job! Props to you all for doing an amazing job.

Excellent job guys.

Dave 🎉
Another awesome video Pepe' s towing stay safe 🙏✌️
great job as always team! keep up the good work!!!
Fantastic work guys.
That was an impressive recovery! I have seen the air bag system used on a number of different videos. One question I have is: What is the source of the compressed air used? I imagine it must take a very high volume of compressed air, but I never see any kind of big air compressor. It seems like it would take one of those compressors like used for a jackhammer, but I never see anything. Considering the number of hoses attached to your control unit, I know the air is coming from somewhere! Saw this on the morning news, and proud of your professional work.
The compressor was the thing they hauled out of the truck first--the thing that ran on gas.
I have nothing but respect for these professionals, nothing but respect!
That was so cool. I don't think you needed the bags but I don't do this work for a living so what do I know. You guys did a great job. You were on it all the way.
Cleanest trucks on CZcams! Man all your units just Shine ! Lol. Great content hello from Calgary Canada! 👍👍👍
Great job! Didn't see Joe's coffee, was he feeling bad?
Hey Alex, thank you for considering. Love what you guys do and be careful doing it. ✌🏼
