Hi, Lucia! She was lovely as Micaela! It honestly doesn't surprise me that she could handle Carman as well! It sounds like this aria lies predominantly in middle (mixed) voice, which is traditionally where mezzos shine... I think I would have to practice this a lot to get it into my voice. I wish that I was like Maria Callas, and my technique was perfect enough to hum it once, and I could sing it in performance at the level of miraculousness! But, not even close! Lol!
Thanks for what you said, about my personality being similar to Micaela's! Yes, I see what you mean. Any courage that I have, is entirely because of my faith in God! Left to my own devices, I would be cowering in a corner because of what MIGHT happen... My Grandma raised me, and she genuinely had PTSD because my Grandpa was physically abusive.
