- In today's video, we will be testing Armored Republic's brand new C3 plate to see if it can actually handle what it's rated for (and maybe a bit more). Testing was setup at 50 yards using 2 brand new C3 plates set up in an AR Veritas Lite Plate Carrier (really surprised how well it held up) on Tear-y the torso. Thanks for watching!

That’s pretty impressive body armor! I’d still liked to have seen you use an actual .30-06’ as stated as its “maximum limit”. Good test though. Loved it man!!

I wonder how well a 300 win. mag. would do, loaded with the M2 projectile.
Hehe, have you ever seen my #300WinChad loads? I typically get 3250-3300 from a 24" 300 Win Mag for armor testing. Most plates will not stop that load.
I would really like to see that as well. Maybe in the future on a different plate

Just remember, you can load that M2AP bullet into 300 Win Mag, or any of the other big 300 magnums. Do it and test it on those plates!
Load up some AP projectiles into the 300 Win Mag. Would love to see how the C3 handles that.
M855a1 aint got NOTHIN on M995... Just a little hard to get ahold of because it's usually linked up for a M249

I’d like to see you test Dayton Armor. Their weights vs protection are unmatched, in fact kinda unbelievable. This has more or less the weight I’d expect.

Cool… Very cool…most days. I unfortunately watched a video on the colossus plate that’s 4+ abd stops .50 BMG black tip. Not sure what the point is cuz the blunt trauma is probably lethal… Still it stops a .50 after that AP .308 just doesn’t do the job for me???

I would like to see companies stop using 30-06 black tip as the basis for armor testing.
Projectiles, powders, and ammo options have improved so ultimately using 30-06 AP rounds as the basis is ultimately hindering advancement. It’s time to move up to harder hitting rounds like 338, 408, hell even 50 BMG as a basis to test armor.
APM2 was ahead of its time. If you ask for a more modern AP round, you may end up with M61 or P80 as the new standard. And from what I’ve seen, those 2 simply aren’t as good at penetrating due to the penetrators being shorter.
It is definitely an older metric, but I believe that’s only because its an official NIJ rating and they currently do not have a higher rating (I could be wrong). I think those would be much more impressive as well

Great video. That’s a solid plate.
Speed is important for penetrating armor, but also the hardness of the pojectile.. for AR500 you need tungsten cores.
Those ultrafast powdered metal varmit loads will punch though ar500 plates as well.
@@USCisgay Of course they do.. but when you take the same round with tungsten you can penetrate a much thicker plate. You talk about big nasty rounds... but a 556 with tungsten core, like .308 slap round (the pojectile without the sabbot is 556. Can penetrate a Ar500 plate of almost 1 inch thick.. while you you not even dent it with a normal 556 or even a 308 round.. thats why i say.. speed is very important but when you really want to penetrate deep in steel you need tungsten cores, just because that bullet doesnt break on the target because tungsten is way harder than ar500.. a core like that keep going.

Just because a plate stops a bullet does not mean you would not be severely if not fatally wounded. I would say the wearer would have multiple broken ribs, internal bleeding and possible heart trauma. This video also shows how to kill enemies wearing this sort of body armor, and that is to shoot them repeatedly in the same area.
If u wear a trauma pad behind the plate depending on the caliber size u should be fine

A company called premier body armor recently made one hit armor piercing 50 cal black tip proof armor😅... Not exactly sure if that's the company that made it but something did and that's pretty nuts if you ask me

5.56 are factory from LC and imr 4064 on the 308
