There are so many good places but I also recommend "Las Cuatro Milpas" in Barrió Logan. Its always poppin
That place is tha-bomb. The owners are my grandfather’s Godparents, grew up going there since I was a wee lad.
Only Real San Diego Natives Kno 🪶🔥🔥
Old picnic tables and you can see them make the tortillas. The most authentic and tasty mex food in town. Cheap too
Cash only tho' so remember that if you haven't been there yet!
Yes...
The thing about San Diego is every neighborhood has their own popular taco shop. Every San Diegan is going to give a different answer for their favorite Taco Shop
Taco Surf Pacific Beach
@@jaydee4025 lol
Absolutely nothing like an SD taco man...
And that's part of why San Diego is the best place on earth.
All depends on which ones you don't get food poisoning from.
I’m watching your videos because I’m having Mexican food withdrawals lol. Born and raised in San Diego but out in Atlanta for school. Loving your content!
Shout out to u Marco! Hope all is well in the ATL. I appreciate the support!
I feel you. My time on the army was sad because of it. I think it’s what lead me to leave after my first contract. Food is life.
Al pastor is my weakness 🤤
U should try that Torta some time!
You have to go try mi tierra in my neighborhood national city everything is hand made its a must try
Thanks for the rec!
Great video as always Jay!!! Glad you made it to Nico's!
Loved the carne asada fries!
I love Robertos in del mar, and Mauricios in normal heights
Love the view at that robertos!
El Zarape was very good - thank you for your recommendation video!
Man im vegan dam lol 😂, who has the best rice beans chips and salsa?
Great videos!!! Enjoy all of them
Thanks so much!
Another great video bro! San Diego by far has the best Mexican food! BTW, Did you ever decide if you’re going to do the ice cream showcase?
ohh definitely will down the road! Maybe summer time when its warmer. Ice Cream and Gelato is my weakness
The shot of the food and Newport in the background is epic.
Amazing work as always Jay!
Thanks my dude! DQSD diving into it!
Colima’s is the spot hands down...never fails 🤤🔥
Its quality!
Great vids Jay!
Glad you like them!
I’ve love Sam Diego too. Great video. 👍

haha my dude! las cuatro milpas best rolled tacos!
I'm originally from San Diego but living in Texas. Can't wait to go home, home sick.
Hope u get back here soon! Thanks for watching
Those people in Texas dont realize their Tex Mex is garbage compared to what we got here in San Diego
@@jaydee4025 well I’m from Texas and I’m visiting cali for the first time in July. I am looking forward to trying Cali-Mex to see the hype and determine if it’s better than my Tex-Mex. any recommendations or places I should try? I’m staying in San Diego downtown area
That chicken mole burrito looks freaking amazingggfg
You had me at Mexican and Food 😋
That fridge is bananas!!!
Love El Zarape! Definitely going to check out the rest as well! All of it looks so good! 😋
Aren't there two more El Zarape on Adams? At the one he went to on Park I get carne asada tacos on flour tortillas. At the other El Zarape, furthest down on Adams, on the north side, we get fish tacos for $1. It's been a while, though, not sure if that's still the price.
@@L.Spencer Yes there are! Good to know. Will definitely try them. Thanks!
@@aaZhan I don't think they're all owned by the same people, it's confusing. Probably all have good food, though.
It's so good!
It’s morning in Vancouver and i’m craving SD mexican food. Colima’s was my go-to but now I got a few more spots, thank you! Can’t wait til I can get back out there!!!
Awesome! Vancouver is beautiful! GREAT ASIAN CUISINE! Thanks for watching
Gotta try these spots thanks bro!
Yeah man! Soo good
If you ever do another video about more Taco shops there's a little place on El Cajon BLVD and College in between the Vons and Woodstocks Pizza called Don Romans and their Don Roman burrito is something I usually grab at least once a month.
Breakfast burrito from Los Reyes is my favorite. Great staff, great food.
Humbertos is good too. That red sauce will tear you up!
my favorite Restaurant back in the day!! bistek Ranchero..yumm
Sounds amazing
Haha tear u up good and bad! Ima have to try that burrito
Tear you up in a good way or bad way?
Los Reyes' burrito ranchero is amazing!
Youre the 2nd person who has mentioned that! I gotta try
Everything looks delicious! Awesome Vlog Jaycation! You’re the best!😊
Thank you!! 😁
I suggest El Indio for the chili rellenos and rolled tacos! As always watching your video always makes me miss San Diego and makes me look forward to our next visit!
I love El Indio! Used to go there back in the day as well. so fresh.
What can be better then El Indio's ? ? ?
2 of my favorite Mexican food restaurants in Barrio Logan are El Paisa on 25th and Imperial Ave and Adalbertos on 25th and Market St. Both are drive thrus
Thank you
Oh myyyy that Torta Looked Bomb 😋😋😋
The Al Pastor was amazing! So crispy too... definitely must eat right there and then to get the full effect.
That mole burrito...damn....and LOVE the Padres jersey.
Go Pads! The Mole Burrito was very unique!
Try Los Taquitos Taco Shop on 3rd Ave Chula Vista. Known for their rolled tacos. So good!
Definitely, go to their north park shop often.
I live a block away from Los Taquitos
@@diegocortes8879 it’s still “cash only” right?
@@hollafront619 yes , that’s the only bad part.
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the shout out on that Sea Señor mexican lager! My husband is the brewer. Would love to send you some beer.
Loved Sea Señor Mexican Lager! That is great, tell your husband I'm a fan. That would be great! How can i get in touch? My email is jaycationmanagement@gmail.com thanks for the offer!
Los Reyes tortas may have hooked me to make the drive. That bread looked fantastic.
No doubt it was AMAZING!
Oh man! Sucks I'm getting bariatric surgery on Wednesday LOL . Need to try Los Reyes. Colima's OG spot ! Try the habanero sauce at Colima's lmao. Nico's brings back childhood memories. Do Chinese food next !!
Hope surgery goes well! Loved Los Reyes.
Should do a birria tour of san diego, a lot of places popping up specializing in it.
i went to Humberto’s after watching this video, and man, they’re busy! must be jaycationers! lol
haha im sure they were busy pre-jaycation but hopefully it brings them more positive business!
do you know if its still 24 hours?
Hey you used my comment! Glad you liked colima's I'm gonna have to check out the Chimichanga.
Thanks for the suggestion Cameron! Honestly that Chimichanga was amazing.
Can you do top Birria spots in San Diego? Also best guacamole in San Diego?
Go Padres!
Best birria place is TJ 664 in national city. Dont go to the other spots, this is their first place. Make sure you get their chili oil too. There is also birrieria fernandez in san ysidro. Behind a shell gas station, that one is good too, but TJ birrieria is the place....best ive had this side of the border
Go Padres! I'll have to research some birria spots for sure.
thanks for the recs!
Best birria tacos and quesabirria in "mucha fruta taqueria" Saturday and Sunday.. way better than tj 664..
City heights
Back when I lived in San Diego, my fav Mexican food was the carne asada burrito from Albierto's.
Roberto's in OB and Norteno's somewhere around Morena and Napa has massive carne asada burritos.
Robertos Taco Shop in national city is too good
bad hombres in el cajon is one of my new favorites !!! you should give it a try
thanks for the rec!
@@Jaycation i guess it’s actually in santee haha, right outside of el cajon ☺️
Go San Diego Padres. From Phoenix, Arizona ❤
The Birria at Palominos in Kearny Mesa is really good as is the Pescado Valencía.
Dude! Wrong Nico’s! You’ve got to go to Nico’s on Morena. The best Carne Asada burrito in SD! I’ve been eating there for 40 plus years.
Next time! haha alot of my comments referred to the one in OB but i am aware of the Morena location
Surritas is fire, the barrel is a must for me cuz that’s where I grew up and still live lol &los panchos cantina in hill crest is fire too
Los reyes is my favorite 💪🏼
Best Ramen in San Diego? I’m in love with Tajima Ramen Bar rn 🤤🤤🤤 I go to the one in hillcrest. I usually order the spicy sesame ramen. My husband and I will order the karaage or carnitas pork buns to share lol. We love the melon matcha iced tea as well
There's a Chinese restaurant in Hillcrest open late sit down restaurant good food Cold beers good company. Can't remember the name anyone?
Hello I think u should try “Cocina de barrio” n Point Loma, menu changes at 3pm daily. Highly recommend u go b4 that time, there s more options on menu n drinks r also delish!
Beef fry rice and chow mein can't get more Mexican than that hallelujah glory to God ✝️🙏
Have you considered a Mexican breakfast video? If you have not done one I recommend Ortega's also in OB.
A couple of my favorite Mexican places in North Park are:
Ranchos Cocina - On 30th St., just a short distance north of University Ave. Their sauces are wonderful, and if you have a friend who's vegetarian or vegan, you can safely take them there... they can do a vegetarian or vegan version of just about anything on the menu. A favorite of mine is the Trio Enchiladas... One beef, one chicken, one cheese, with three sauces: red, green, and mole.
El Comal - On Illinois St., again, just a short distance north of University Ave. You can find all the familiar tacos and burritos as well, but the core of their menu is Yucatan style dishes. One of my favorites is the Cochinita Pibil.
It’s hard to diet here in SD because there’s so much good food everywhere. 😅
I have yet to see Guero’s Taco Shop on Imperial Ave. in a YT vid, you taste the love in their food 🤤
Two words Jay....El Indio. You must try!!
definitely been there many times back in the day. Love it!
theres this taco shop in pb kinda leaning more towards la jola in front the the gelson. little ass spot but bomb
Going to San Diego in may what are the 5 must try’s food wise an what are some hidden gems
Ceviche is the Go to!
i love ceviche!
I know it’s out the way, but Silva’s in El Cajon on Broadway has been a go to since I was a kid!
I see that SD Pinky fitted! Hats off! 😉 👍
Shout out! Had to cop it before it sold out on lids.com lol
Awesome job jay I love Mexican food 🍲
I appreciate you adam!
No problem jay.
Mulitas are good, and anything with suadero!
Ill have to try!
Best rolled tacos habaneros in Mira Mesa!! Must check out in Escondido birrieria ay Jalisco street tacos make sure you get consumé sauce to dip it in!! Street tacos are small but flavorful and tortilla taste so fresh. Also check out TJ tacos on west valley parkway alpastor and carne asada tacos!! Primos Mexican food get the 619 fries locations Escondido and RB!! Happy eatings!!
thanks for the recs! Never tried habaneros in MM. Will have to check it out.
You should try Sopes, they are bomb.
That torts looked so freaking good oh my goodness. I’m never think to get the Fortas but that crunch and cheese . I always gotta put pics on my rolled tacos and sour cream . No joke with the food prices now a taco shop trip can be 18.00 . Lol
My fave Mexican dish are chile rellenos!
I now reside in the Big state of texas. But I sure do miss my Mexican food in cally.
What texmex is actually good? I always here critical things about it. There must he something good there! Lol
@@Jaycation I beg to differ. The Texmex here in east Texas is not very good in my estimation. Texas has lots to offer. But the Mexican food hands down is better in the west.
@@Jaycation I grew up in California. Have only Ben here in texas for about three years now. So I’m used to eating real authentic Mexican food on the west coast. Matter of fact it’s hard to find any descent food here in east Texas. Haven’t really found a good pizza 🍕 yet either. But I can tell you the taxes are much cheaper lol. And people tend to be a lot nicer here in texas.
You should check out Super Cocina on University Ave and El Papas Fritas Taco Shop in the Oak Park neighborhood.
Have you tried the Cali burrito from pokez in downtown that one is Fire 🔥
Not yet! I need to!
Colimas in Chula Vista has the best Adobado Burrito Ive ever had! Also best machaca burrito is found in National City at Las Lomitas. And best pollo asado burrito ever is in El Cajon at Valerios.
I live in North Park and i eat at Colima's all the time. I love their fish tacos.
Colomas is great!
Have you tried Lolitas? I am curious to know your review on them. Most of them are located in Chula Vista Area but they have one in Clairmont and Downtown. It's our family favorite!
You should do a video of San Diego’s best carne asada
Yess definitely one of these days!
Jay now I'm hungry and homesick. I love that creamy guacamole on everything. Down here in Houston the have this stuff called Tex Mex. It's NOT good. High quality Mexican food is at A premium price. I can't wait to come home and have high quality Mexican food at a good price. Thanks for another GREAT video. Jim Cunningham
I'm actually interested in trying real TexMex to experience the difference lol sorry to make u homesick, wish it did the opposite! Show u a little bit of home.
@@Jaycation If you ever decide to travel again and want to come down to Houston, let me know. I've got 3 favorite Mexican joints that I hit up frequently. All 3 are Tex Mex but put their own spin on the cuisine. There's also a 4th place that reminds me of the taco stands in TJ. I'd be happy to take you around.
well said
Anyone know where the best seafood (marlin) tacos in SD are served? Used to get the best down in Otay/San Ysidro area.
I don’t think I’ve met someone who loves San Diego and our food as much as I do! 😂
Come through my Barbershop in Mission Valley anytime I’ll show you some of my fav spots!!
Mexican food here is the BEST! Shout out to u Joel!
What is the name of your barbershop?
Lord knows I could use a haircut
I forgot about Lolita Petco Park the tsunami burritos omg!!
If it's a nice place I would get the grilled carne asada steak plate where you make ur own 🌮🌮 mmmm delish!
Must try for anything san diego shop style is el pollo grill in lemon Grove... aside from the best Mexican grilled chicken in the city their traditional sd style taco shop menu items are smackin!!! Hands down tops in the county and even all southern Cali imo. Get a bar folks 💯
Damn now I’m starving
sorry about that! haha
Check out jalapeños or yesenias! Both in Carmel mountain ranch bye rancho Bernardo
I've been to Nico's and it's good! However, you still haven't tried the marinated tri-tip burrito at Crack Taco Shop just off the 8 West in the Body Beautiful strip mall. Trust me, it's delicious! Crack is also an excellent taco shop in general, que rico!
ive been eyeing crack taco shop for a while! def will have to check it out
El Zarape is a common stop for me because Diversionary Theater/Clark's Cabaret is very close to it. Clark's doesn't have more to eat than chips and cookies, so they are cool with you bringing in food and buying your drinks from them. Say high to Derrol, the bar manager!
It’s Nico’s OB the same as the one in Carmel Valley?
Super Sergio’s on Convoy or Sweetwater has the best Mexican taco shop food!!!
Don’t sleep on pollo grill in lemon grove.. best chicken in town!
Hi,Jaycation. Yu need to try this craft MEXIPINO. MEXICAN AND FILIPINAS RESTORANT 🤗🇲🇽🇸🇽👌🤝
At Colima's the Sonora quesadilla is off the chain and the Surf and Turf.
everything from Colima's looks to be great. They know how to make quality food!
You mentioned eating an al pastor torta while @ los Reyes, but clearly looks like carne azada (pastor is adobo marinated giving a reddish color to the meat) I’m sure it’s good but maybe Edit that scene, much respect tho I am a sad Diego local and follow you’re Chanel.
Humbertos was my first date with my boyfriend lol BOMB 👌🏻😋
what a great first impression!
Ok
Its a little more expensive but Lupes on Linda Vista Rd is 💣💣
YO recomiendo: El Sabroso taco shop, Tacos el Guero Mexican Food, Sayulitas, El Achiote, Casa Machado, Casa de Pico, La Sabrosita.
La Quinta Grill también..
You should try don pedros in downtown Chula Vista
Enchiladas 😊Chile Rellenos
AH! LOS REYES! The steak & egg burrito is the bomb! And the Humberto's across the street has amazing green salsa. Go back for that salsa!
But, my man, you HAVE to go to La Posta De Acapulco's on Washington for Surf 'n Turf or straight carne asada chips. And shout out to Tito's on National Avenue - the street tacos and adobado are on point. Keep up the good work and good eats, way to represent. 👊
Now i have to go back for that steak and egg burrito! haha I'll have to check out those other recs as well. Thanks!
I love Chile Rellenos. My wife and one of her friends did a search for the best Chile Rellenos here in SD. Maybe you can do one.😎
My vote for BEST chile rellenos in San Diego County is for LA Palapa on Woodside in Lakeside! Tender chile, plenty of cheese, and scrumptious sauce. Mmmmm.
@@patgarcia2010 Thanks for sharing
So cal tacos and beer homie
