    As someone with various influences, including prog, classical, and world music, these Music Theory updates are gonna help a ton. Gosh, I'm loving this update!!! :)

    legendary app.
    One quick idea. ability to Import scales via simple MIDI file. there are MIDI's for everything known to exist, internet-wide, and then some...... lol ..So simply import a midi file of a scale into caustic, and save it as a preset scale.

    This feature will have more uses than just musical scales... I'm experimenting with this for a few other things I may share in the future...

    It would be nice if one could set the time signature not only for the entire project but also for single selected measures. As a fan and composer of progressive music, I am quiet used to changing time signatures within one song! But I don't want to compose each part individually (with a certain time sig.) and then arrange them in a seperate sequencer . . .

    @Yzaias15 Před 7 lety +1

    I love the time signatures added in the upate, this whole time I had to make songs only using triplets to make it sound like 3/4 or 6/8.

    The scale feature is absolutely awesome, but why not make the scale per instrument instead of per song? Still, will totally use this feature a ton. The bpm updating is also incredible.

      functionform You actually can, go to the piano roll editor, hold on the varation tab on any number, go to scale on the right side, then boom, seperate, not just instruments, but varations.

    How does one create scales where pitch of the keys are different from tempered scales. Usually alternate scales means this connotation. For Indian Music we add subtract a few cents to each tempered scale according to the raga. For example, Here is a good [compromise] setting for the 12 keys in an octave for most ragas.

    Any way to make an instant tempo change?

    • @johnfogy
      @johnfogy Před 5 lety +2

      I desperately need that, too. I tried inserting tempo keys, but it seems the new tempo is reached only after a gradual accelleration over the time between one key and the next. Is there a way to make it an instantaneous change at the point of key insertion?

    • @OrangeC7
      @OrangeC7 Před 5 lety +3

      @@johnfogy If you go into the song piano roll and zoom in as far as possible (I think it's 32nd notes) then you can get a much finer timeline on the bottom. Then you can set the bpm to basically instantly change.

    I dont understand why the ad or growing the measure feature is not on my ios or samsung caustic 3 app? That simple step alone that i can almost never find or remember how keeps me from using this app regulary as that is really annoying how hidden that basic feature seems to be on caustic 3 . The manual is not clear on that and this demo vid flashes by that step so quickly its hard to make out what your doing. I see that option is on your demo app version fro the millisecond it shows in this video. Ridiculous having to youtube multiple videos and still not figure out this issue.

    If was playing rythrm I would not want someone playing notes outside the scale..Unless they know exactly what their doing . You wont sound original or artistic unless you get lucky playing a flat note first then sliding up into a note in scale of the key your playing (jazzy feel ,country or blues all of em do this) changing the key (root note or chords) Stick to playing the scale. Anytime you see guitar player Solo with rythm guitar or bass player the guitar is playing the same notes (higher or lower octave notes but same notes in the guitar chords playing along with guitar solo. Chords that make up the song, within the scale. although some notes sound better than others because they are the notes' that make the chords. A Basic chord is made with 3 notes , the 3 notes that make basic chords are the (root note, the 3rd, and 5th note.If your playing in C major scale the (root note is C) the (3rd note is E), and the (5th is G). I Sound like an asshole

    • @themanfromvolantis
      @themanfromvolantis Před 11 měsíci

      No you don't. Some of us find chords and scales bewildering.
      Like I see no benefit for not using C as the scale because anything else limits the notes I can use.

    why would you want to change tempo in a song unless you are one of those crackhead songwriters?
