The new hunting bows for 2024 are here! So naturally we give the Mathews Lift 29.5 a full honest review, and shoot it on the indoor range at Willow Creek Archery.
Hi Guys, Coming up on Monday. Willow Creek is an outstanding archery shop. Wonderful people. I have shot the Mathews 29.5, 33, Bowtech SS34, Core SS30 (31.5 AA). and the new Elite. All are great bows. I am 61 years old so not as strong as others, so my settings were 60# 29 (D) 414 gr arrow.
But, what are you using as a release? I'm not sure if you mentioned this or not. But I do like the new UV stainless steel release? For the last three months I've been using the 29.5 lift. And I do not have one complaint except the heavy draw cycle which I know I need to man up.
I think I’m this video I was using the UV Hinge in aluminum but I have since switched to the stainless version. The SS feels much better with the added weight.
Matthew’s fans will give this new bow an “8” for a draw cycle when it dumps and is harsh but will grade any other manufacturer bow with a similar draw a “2” 😅 I know lots of guys at my local club who have been long time Matthew’s fans and are now trying and very surprised by Bowtech, Elite and even Bear bows. Try something different, get a hat from another bow company and live a little. Great review however! No complaints about his review. Extremely detailed, I’ll be back for more. ❤
I wasn’t a fan of it myself, it was aggressive but luckily it doesn’t have much of a dump which helps. I’m hoping to test the 33 and see if it feels any better.
You do not need the wider fingers to press a Lift. Last Chance even says it’s not necessary, it’s just a nice to have.
Thanks for the info. I thought it was recommended so you wouldn’t be taking a chance of it breaking.
Correct! You don't need different LCA press fingers! The standard fingers will work just fine.
The tattoos on that guys arm who held the sound meter is dope 🤩.
Great video too.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.
Thanks for watching
I shoot a mathews monster for years and shooting this lift is amazing and i love my monster

Awesome, we love hearing ppl enjoying the shop as much as we do.

Gonna be pumping em out soon
Great review thank you!
Thank you. More to come.

Glad you liked it and thanks for watching. We are unbiased as it gets (in our opinion) we don’t have ties to any manufacturers.
Haha switch hats
I can't, the PSE one is broke in to my big ass head@@pennyontrack
@@DeadHeadArchery I was just laughing at the phrase. It’s a good joke. All the hats I got from
Buying bows were junky
So this bow sucks and its all hype? Which ones are better?
I’m a Mathews guy and looking for a new bow, but I may have to search around. That draw cycle looks like crap

I found it much more pleasant than Hoyt’s alpha or bowtech cores.
Can you make a video on the Hoyt alpha x 33 please
That is on the list, filming it next week.
Did you measure the draw length?
No we didn’t.
What release are you using?
Hinge 2 stainless, from ultraview
Cam lean adjustability 0/10.
Draw length adjustability 0/10.
The fact that you can’t adjust it by 1/4” incriminates is dumb at this point with the technology out there.
At least get a new scale lol
That thing is really accurate, we tested it against some digital ones and it’s the same
Your scoring makes no sense.
How so?
7/10 for draw weight? 😂
Was the phase 4 a better bow in your opinion?
Similar draw cycles but this one takes the cake for weight. If you don’t care about the weight,…save the money.
@DeadHeadArchery thanks for the response. I'm going to check both out when season goes out in virginia.
