My favorite part about becoming a tank in any genre of online fighter is the aspect of you just sitting there with 4x the enemy health and armor twice as thick and wondering what fly is buzzing past your ear.
Idk why you would specialize in being a punching bag. Even if your opponent can't kill you without offense your just at a stalemate.

I like how clear it is black is trying to kill him, not just incapacitate. He almost exclusively goes for the organs and important bone structure, rather than the head due to the skull being so tough to break through. Very well made
Rather than being defense against balance styles, defense just has way more stat points than balance does.

Realistically, against equal-levelled opponents, balanced would win, since while they would both do very low damage to each other, the balanced o e would be able to pick and choose the fights due to his speed.

except it'll most likely take damned forever to do anything and by then it'll be day 2 and has only went down like 3% of his hp, might as well give up since youre most likely dehydrated and hungry trying to kill this person now, not to mention if this person has some moderate-strong healing spells then he's just immortal pretty much
The def guy would just get speed blitzed endlessly until eventually his hp hits zero lmao
It also depends on how damage is calculated in the particular game.
Speed stats are akin to defence so if unbalanced it is like a turtle fighting a faster more agile opponent.
Sure the turtle can use shell, but there are still opportunities to exploit by the faster opponent and anytime the turtle tries to fight back the faster more agile opponent would simply doge the attack.
This is basically me in most games. In a game involving stat points, I always buff up on anything related to defence, health, dodge chance, etc.. because I love the thought of my opponent doing some fancy schmancy meta combo bullshit and here I am just like, “that’s all?” or alternatively "I'M FUCKING INVINCIBLE!"
Hell, even that one ArmstrongVSRaiden quote works in this context.

Going on a bit of a tangent here, please don’t mind.
Don’t really know why you guys are making it sound I’m doing 1v1s or smth, why the hell would I tank without someone else to assist me. Think of the “Holy Trinity”. I don’t really need to explain it but you get the point, I’m not the only one who is fighting, I’m just mentioning my play style.

I hate when something is op, it lacks any creativity and is just there to be "the best".
The real best oc's are the ones with a unique touch, for (a bad but still an) example my oc's is just a black stick with sawblades. And a backpack for some of them. Even judt being balanced is awesome, but if you add something incredibly cool and unique it will just be so awesome! My other oc for example has this thing where she is sleepy and tired most of the time to store it all in some kind of imaginary battery or so and only grabs some more for more power when needed. She recharges by sleeping and (this isnt 100% verified but) she can also create white shapes and manipulate them. The cool things about her is
1. Her name is "Senna" which means "sleepy (female)" in polish but sounds promising in english as well and it just works so nicely together lol (also the reason i started working on this oc more)
2. The power is always balanced at this point i guess. I never animated her before really but the point of power being stored in an imaginary battery is to stay balanced and in case the other oc is op Senna also can gather some power and be on a similar level (in some situations she can obviously run out of the battery energy and thats gonna be a problem when it happens), not only that but if the other oc has an ability to take someones power it will only be able to take it from the real energy. So Senna has 2 options: either keep storing most of the power in the imaginary battery at all times so its safe there and cannot be stolen, keep taking a big chunk every time the real power is stolen or if the other oc needs time/energy to take the power she can also take most of the imaginary power and overwhelm the other oc to the point where she either can do insane things with that power and kill the other oc fast before he can steal the power, or just make it very long to take all of it.
What happens if shes drained out of all energy? She falls asleep. But what happens in case of an emergency where for example she has no energy left but is being hurt or kidnapped?
3. Her cute flying robot can try helping her out. It cant do very much, but it can observe, call for help, (the next one is not verified:), draw weapons and attack (wouldnt be very powerful but enough to scare some easier enemies off), give her some energy (also not verified but likely as it has a lot of potential) and things like that.

That’s awesome but like I think the point of this animation was just make the whole fighting scene and less of the characters design. Your whole idea is still hella cool tho, it’s really great when people add story and in depth design into their characters, adds more depth and creativity
My OC is powerful but doesn't have a will to fight. I mean, why would you when you can just talk no jutsu it all out?

the best defense is offense while you may defend all the time there is only soo much you can defend against
offense has no limits but the creator, the defense is only a counter to offense that exist.
So as the person on offense you need to create a new offense the defensive have never seen, and the defensive person needs to pick opportune moments to strike as every hit counts....you are playing the long waiting game opting in for defense only.
If y'all watch anime Meruem vs Netero In the HxH Series is a good example.

it reminds me of a certain anime (Itai no wa Iya nanode Bougyo-Ryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu) where the main character plays a VRMMO but is afraid of pain so she puts everything on defense.
to the point that she doesn't need to worry about being eaten by monsters because she regenerates, if you manage to harm her, faster than she's harmed but she can eat the monsters from their insides.

@@shirothefish9688 Imagine a build where you have that much defense, and then the ability is that the more damage you take, the stronger you become.
Absorbs a percentage of the damage taken and adds it to you attack, so eventually you can have massive defense and also huge attack power, pair that with some healing and you have the most OP set ever.

Defense is always the most fun to use, especially you can use defense to humiliate Attack type players.
The downside of having a high defense stats is that you're only more durable, but dont had something to fight back. Defensive is only useful and fun when you're on a party, but not when you're alone. This is coming from someone who used a tank build on one mmorpg while doing the main story by himself.

With just one less than one hundred quattuorvigintillion defence points (one hundred septilliard googol), he should've had even stronger flesh than either Yoshi from episode 2 of the SMBZ Reboot, strange matter, or even the current state of SCP-682 (which only really has high regeneration, really - not so much defence), rather than actually get torn apart and then just have a cop-out mechanic making up for all the defence he failed to fulfil.
Honestly, he should be having practically total bodily mobility and ending the video complaining about his own immortality
except it never outlines what 1 defence does, so he could’ve just been slightly more armoured than your average person

Putting all of your points into one focused category will make you incredibly powerful in that area, but literally a glass canon in everything else.

I feel like the only counter to this is focus on speed and damage. Then you can finish them fast enough but have to make sure to not get hit.
Or crits.
You need to be offense focused.
Coz offensive stats like crit, piercing and accuracy counter defense.
At that point the guy may aswell be naked.
Balanced units lack the attack stats to overcome the dmg reduction and likely dont meet the accuracy requirements overcome the evasion

@@shemwell4782 He just needs one good hit to win though, unless the defense stat doesn't give any offensive capability, but usually there is at least some way of using defense to attack, in order to avoid the situation of 2 defenders stalling forever.
Like Body Press in pokemon, a move which uses your defense as attack to calculate the damage, so even if your attack is awful, you can still do a lot of damage if your defense is high.

Disappointed. Thought by high def he'd have all the answers to the attacks and counters, grapples, escapes. Instead he's just a ragdoll. That's not def, that's endurance if anything or con.
