If you’re a Dolly Parton fan then you’d know she was born and raised in Tennessee and has refused to permanently live in any other state since. Dolly currently lives in Brentwood, Tennessee with her husband Carl Dean at an estate she bought back in the 90s! Since the country legend has been in the same home for quite some time, today we’ll be looking at her main house, as well as two properties she used to live at. While Dolly hasn’t shown fans much of the interior, we’ve gotten some glimpses and there’s a lot we can tell from the outside - there are over 10 structures here!
Dolly Parton is a singer, songwriter, businesswoman, actress, author, humanitarian - you name it, who’s best known for her work in country music. After achieving success as a songwriter for others, she made her album debut back in 1967 and became successful as both a solo artist and doing duet albums with Porter Wagoner. Dolly’s sales and chart peak came during the 1970s, continuing into the 1980s. Over the course of her career, Dolly came back with more commercial success in the new millennium and even built her own label Dolly Records. Among her many many MANY awards and accolades, she’s received 10 Grammys, including the Lifetime Achievement Award, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, naturally. She’s filled her life with a ton of different ventures from composing over 3000 songs, acting in hit films, and even opening a successful theme park in Tennessee - Dollywood. But the music legend also loves to give back and has been highly involved in charity work since the 80s, especially in the area of literacy. She has done a ton to help with her program Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. I’ve read her book, Dolly My life and other unfinished business - and after hearing her own story I found a new respect for her. I highly recommend it! She’s an icon in so many ways, and I feel like every icon deserves a House Tour. At the time of this recording, Dolly’s estimated net worth is estimated at $500 million, and with a fortune like that, you might be surprised that she’s chosen to live at the same farm for many years now.

The fact that her most expensive home was just over the average price for the area it's in along with how relatively modest her biggest one is is just astounding given her net worth. When I try to think of examples of rich people who actually know how to moderate themselves in how they live and be willing to give big percentages of their wealth to good causes, Dolly Parton and Keanu Reeves are the first two that come to mind.
Fact Check: the Brentwood home was built in the 70s by her husband Carl . She owns many homes in TN that she uses a getaways but the Brentwood home is her main house , the home Reese was at is behind Dollys main office and is just for her to go to if she stays late at the office..she owns 5 homes in East Tennessee...and Marilyn never lived in TN she lived in Brentwood CA
I’ve always loved Dolly. She a classy lady, has a great sense of humor & a huge giving heart. Loved all her homes, especially the one in Brentwood.
We live south of Brentwood, TN. I bought a Tenn. Walking Horse from someone who lived on her road. But never looked for her place. Here, Privacy is valuable. TN quote. "Good fences make Good Neighbors."

This is exactly where I would envision Dolly living. As a native Nashvillian myself I know Brentwood well and while it has many beautiful areas, it can be and is just down to earth. Much like Dolly. I’ve never met the talented lady but I’d like to think if I ever did, it would just be like running in to a sister. Dolly Parton is my favorite singer, she is so rich but doesn't act rich and snobbish, she has been with her husband forever and they still have such love for one another. She has a bombshell personality, she is always smiling and does wonderful things for people. She was born very poor but now she is very wealthy and take care of her family if she wanted to and she's got it all now with her love for music, singing, playing instruments and she loves money but not enough to spend so many thousands on clothes. She has a remarkable personality and marriage. God Bless, I love every single one of your beautiful songs.

Marilyn Monroe never lived in Brentwood Tennessee. She lived in Brentwood, California, residing in the home at the time of her death.

I think everyone loves Dolly, because I've never hear anyone utter a disparaging word about this icon. I know I adore and love her! She is just so genuine and true, so what you see is what you get. And that's pretty dang fabulous!

I love that you did a video on Dolly, however there are several things incorrect in your vlog. Dolly and Carl have lived in their Brentwood, Tennessee home and Dolly has considered that her main residence since the mid to late 70's. The home was actually constructed by Carl and some of Dolly's brothers. She did own the other two places but sold them. She and Carl like to buy and sell properties so I feel like the grey house was one of those properties and she never lived there. Maybe stayed there on occasion but never lived permanently. As for the Reese Witherspoon interview that was one of Dollys homes that are part of her Nashville studio compound and not at her home in Brentwood she's rarely shown her Brentwood home publicly except for once in a interview with Barbara Walters in the 80s. She also has her Tennessee Mountain home in Locust Ridge Tennessee which is one of the homes she lived in as a child. She also owns several other homes around the country including her late parents former home in Sevierville Tenn and she did have a bigger home in LA when she was doing her variety show in the late 80s but I think has since sold it. Also she owned property in Hawaii at one time not sure if she still does. She did have an apartment overlooking central park in NYC at one time as well.

Dolly is a wonderful, humble, down to earth good human being. I believe her heart is about love and caring for others..not about bragging or showing off. Thats what makes Dolly so loved. Fans see shes still the small town girl and she knows people work hard to buy her music and see her shows and she appreciates it. She gives back and makes us feel shes still one of us. Even though shes surpassed all of our dreams, she lets us live in some of hers. Dolly Parton you are loved!!
